It was abandoned towards the end of the 20th century, due to faulty pipe work that was thought to have failed, causing the town to be abandoned due to a land slide. Now, Craco is uninhabited. In 1963, the 1,800 inhabitants were moved to a valley at closer proximity called as Craco Peschiera. That population is now reduced to below 800 inhabitants. Craco is a ghost town and comune in the province of Matera, in the southern Italian region of Basilicata. Tanzhe Temple is located in Tanzhe Mountain, Mentougou District, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the city. Constructed during the Jin Dynasty (256-316), Tanzhe Temple enjoys a history stretching back 1,700 years and is the earliest Buddhist Temple in Beijing. In former times its name was changed several times, but because there is the Dragon pool behind and wild mulberry (cudriana) trees on the mountain, local people always called it Pool and Mulberry Tree Temple or 'Tanzhe Temple' (Tan refers to the pool while Zhe refers to cudrania trees), and as time passed by this name was fixed upon. Tanzhe Temple faces south and covers an area of 25,000 square meters (2.5 hectares). The existing buildings were mainly built in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). The layout of it is arranged in an orderly fashion. Halls are mainly located along the central axis. Ok, photos might be not that impressive, but the polished texture of these ancient stones under the palm of your hand can provide you an absolutely amazing experience! These stones have been producing slat for centuries, they are scorched under the harsh southern sun, and hand polished by tens of generations of local people. To be honest, I was not expecting that much from that site, but with a first touch we caught that sentimental poetic wave. So if you are interested in history, this attraction is definitely worth visiting! 🚕🚎🚌 We would recommend to take a car for several days immediately at Baimajin train station (you can use car sharing services), coz there are plenty of amazing attractions around Danzhou, like wild volcanic beaches, distant fishermans villages, etc etc, where it is not so easy to get to. 🍔🍟🥪 There are many small cafes right on the spot, where you can enjoy some fresh sea food. Of course, these places are super ascetic, with plastic chairs and so on, but local food can be really delicious here! 🏵 Of course, you can buy this local salt here, but to be honest, it doesn't seem to be produced with this ancient method. But of course, it is totally up to you in what to believe😉 To summ up, it can be some new experience that won't take too much time. The Kahanamoku beach is located near the marina and has a small salty water lagoon ideal to enjoy if you bring small kids. Or you dislike the feeling of crashing waves. This beach has more coarser sand than Waikiki beach, although is quieter and nicer for families. It’s also located near Waikiki downtown, you can either reach there from the marina or the Duke Paoa Kahanamoku Park. Dai style park. There was the palace of Dai kind but I couldn’t get in: it was closed because of the virus. However it’s a beautiful place to take pictures and enjoy the nature. You can also watch elephants’ show and take photos with the parrots. It’s not far from the city. So no need to worry about the distance. Just go and enjoy your day. Visiting Harbin has been on my bucketlist for a long time, and during the Spring Festival, we finally got the opportunity to go. One of the highlights were Yabuli Ski Resort. It is one of the top Ski resorts in the country, and caters for noobs (like us) and pro's. If you are an amateur, fair warning: The ice is harder than it looks. I learned the hard way. Yabuli is located about 250km from Harbin city, and the best way to get there is to take a high speed train to Yabulixi station, and then take a bus to the Ski Resort. Tickets can be purchased at the resort, or online. It is cheaper to buy online. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday this year, with all the unexpected life challenges in addition to the pandemic! 💓 Stepping into the lobby of The St Regis saw us being transported to an art gallery complete with artworks in a beautiful setting. The staff we encountered were so friendly and warm, and it speaks volumes when you know they’ve worked there for more than 5 years and some even longer than that! The room was gorgeous and spacious, and very tastefully decorated. The use of marble gave the rooms a very luxurious and opulent feel and the bathtub was really nice! The butler service made one felt like royalty and it was very interesting hearing the butlers explain about the history of the hotel, down to the choice of decor and furniture. The hot chocolate was truly comforting and there’s a good variety of tea as well. This was such a memorable celebration and wonderful experience that we are already planning for a return trip! It has sky deck which has beautiful view of New York City. On 86th floor city view is awesome, main part is its without Glasses so you can see from your naked eyes. There are grills and protective wall but it will not hinder you from taking photos of NYC. It comes in Tourist passes. Excellent property and very convenient to USC activities. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm. Overall, I had a great experience with the Blue Sky Hotel; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend.
