It's also where almost all locals shop (the really big supermarkets tend to have much smaller meat and fish counters than they would in France or Italy) and this market also supplies many local restaurants. Meat, cheese, fruit and veg, flowers, eggs etc are all upstairs (on the ground floor) and the fish is in the basement. The free(!) car park is also in the basement but is quite small and tricky to get into- there is a very large (and not very expensive) car-park opposite the main entrance that services the museum and art gallery. Everything is very reasonably priced, amazing fresh quality and most stalls accept cards as well as cash.
