#aprilblooms This beautiful place lies within little town which is not popular among foreigners as us. While traveling from #changsha to #zhangjiajie we had to stop this town called #changde. And around 10´ drive from the town center there is « Peach blossom lake » scenic area. This place surrounded greens, flowers, hill and lake. At the evening Chinese traditional singing performance on boat is held on lake. Also beside the lake there is one lounge works and they have live singing performance. In the morning you will wake up in middle of bird and cricket sound, also smell here was so fresh and relaxing 💕 if you ever have visit to Changsha, you need to spare at least one day for this place. This place felt like it heals my soul and mind 😇 I wish I had one more day to spend here ❤️

Summer is coming and Changsha has a lot of exciting places you can visit so here are a few recommendations that I visited on my trip. All of these are free except for Orange Island which was like 20rmb or so: 1. Meixi Lake Chinese Knot Bridge (there is no other attraction close by so it’s kinda out of the way but worth it for great photos) 2. Huangxing Square 3. Wuyi Square 4. Taiping Street (shopping for souvenirs - make sure to price shop first because I bought some keychains for 3 times the price another shop had and they were the exact same thing😢) 5. Orange Island (foreigners need to first go to the visitors center to get a slip of paper which you can then use to get a ticket for the in park transport. 'Hua Ya Ge 华雅阁' is a garden decorated in Chinese style. There is a lake with a Chinese pavilion with beautiful trees. Behind it are tall buildings indicating the location in the city center. Some corners give the feeling of a lush forest that is now starting to change leaves to bright red and orange, along with tall ancient buildings that look like they came out of a Chinese martial arts movie. There is a chill corner with a Western feel for us to join the frame by the water. It is a spot full of classics. Plus, there are few people, so it's fun to take pictures and no one will steal the scene. 🚉South Gaoqiao (高桥南) subway station, Exit 1, then walk about 500m or take a taxi to continue.

You’ll see a lot of people wearing the traditional clothes (they can rent it anywhere) but the landmark and old houses are authentic! It was like visiting a different place, totally different to the rest of the cities in China.

You can easily get there by subway “Wuyi Square” subway station. Another landmark is a botanical garden. It’s very beautiful, especially in spring when all the flowers are in blossom. I recommend to go there in the end of February, March and April. You can see there a lot of colorful roses of different kinds. It’s a nice place to take photos. This summer, I travelled to Hunan Province, which was one of the most beautiful places I’ve been in the world. The trip started in the capital, Changsha. Orange Island is well worth a visit, but also try some stinky tofu and milk tea. Then I went to mountains that inspired the first Avatar movie in Zhangjiajie. Try staying at the glass hotel for a remarkable, one of a kind stay. Truly a speculator and breathtaking place! Finally, I went to Fenghuang, which was absolutely breathtaking. I mostly prefer natural beauty but at some point anything can be "too much" 🤭 So while my friend opted for Sichuan I decided to go to Changsha to avoid high risk areas - covid map was my main guide this summer 🙄 When I started learning about Changsha main tourist attractions, I found out that most of them relate to communist party, so I just grabbed the chance, as for me that was something new and special (in China) . From logistics and cost point of view I decided to join a Chinese tour (hoping my Chinese improved since last year🤞.. Not so much😔 but anyway it's possible with any Chinese level, depending on your other skills, experience and target) As for my tour most of the time we spent in the house and museum of Liu Shaoqi (impressive) as it was similar to Mao Zedong's but less crowded. Afternoon we went to Mao Zedong's house and then to memorial park. The trip was exactly what I needed: good timing and logistics, all information in the museums was provided both in Chinese and English and I learnt a lot on the internet on the way, too. In the evening I also went to an open air performance which was good. I stayed overnight and had a nice hike over rural area in the morning. Another 2 great days in Hunan! Changsha is such a nice city to visit. The people are friendly, the food tastes great and there are so many places to walk. Most mornings and evenings we would walk down the river front prominade, enjoy the cities bright lights and clean walkways. There are lots of attractions on the river front, but the prominade itself is perfect for an after dinner slow walk back to your hotel or for a late night whisky or cocktail. It was illuminated until late. I'll head back to Changsha again in the future and I'll make sure I've got a riverside location even if it means being a little further out if the centre. #changsha

A view of the north, south, east, west of Changsha City! Dafujing Pavilion is on of the oldest buildings in Changsha build around Tang Dynasty. It’s build to commemorate the great poet Dafu of Tang Dynasty. You’ll find his poems on the third floor of the tower. It’s hot on summer but when your at Dafujing you’ll feel the breeze at the tower bit windy and enjoy the view of Changsha also you can have tea at the fourth floor. Changsha, Hunan, is the perfect place for a weekend getaway from south or central China. Changsha has three highlights for me: 1. The food 🌶️ 2. Hunan Provincial Museum 🏛️ 3. The Yuelu Academy ⛩️ Hunanese food, 湘菜, is fiery hot and exquisitely flavoured. Numerous restaurants serve barbecue, beef cooked with chilli peppers and other local specialities. It's also famous for its streetfood, particularly Changsha stinky tofu (choudoufu). I'm not a big fan but many people rave about it. Just follow the odour of an open sewer to find some 😆 The Hunan Provincial Museum is excellent. The main exhibit is the treasures excavated from a Han Dynasty tomb discovered near Hunan, including thousands of well preserved grave goods. The prize attraction is a unique 'wet mummy', the body of the wife of a local ruler, which was enbalmed using a chemical process preserving the soft tissue (unlike Egyptian mummies, for example, which are dried out.) The museum entrance and main exhibits are free but some temporary exhibits require a ticket. The Yuelu Academy (岳麓书院，Yuelu Shuyuan) is an ancient centre of higher learning. Dating back centuries, it became one of China's first modern universities, Hunan University. The original academy can be visited inside the Hunan University campus. Finally, Changsha is notable for its most famous son, Mao Zedong, who was born in a village outside Changsha city (Shaoshan). Orange Island, a long low island in the Xiang River that flows through Changsha, is a pleasant park home to a massive statue of the handsome young Mao's head. He stares down the river as if looking into the future. Refer previous post for Day 1 till Day 2 Day 3: Grand Canyon 🏞 Day - wake up early ❗️The ticket station area was locked despite operation hours, so had to take e-hailing - we arrived, walked and pack some breakfast 🍔 around the area before hiking - We started from the East Door ❗️Ensure studying the flow of route properly as there are alot of eco bus changes (around 4 to 5) - after we finish the route we are back to where we started, take a bus (blue) to go back to the Zhangjiajie West Train station. Day 4 : 🏞 Tianmen Mountain & 72 Wonders🏤 - 🚍 took a bus from the bus stop nearby the zhangjiajie west station (Line 17) - and we reached the 🚎 Cable Car Station area (Wuling Shan Can Guan - Tian Men Shan)around 12 stops from Zhangjiajie West Bus Stop. - you will arrive at a 🌞 morning market, frab breakfast affordable prices - cross the 🚦 street and arrival (we chose Route A, taking cable car up and walk down the 999 steps) ❗️Routes may be slightly open ended so emsure study map properly (we walked the west line) - arrived at the bottom and took a free transit bus back to where we started - took buses to 72 Wonders Tower ❗️would need map to find the bus stations (had to type in chinese language will be easier too) - will arrive at the opposite of the actual building where there is night market 🍔 but passing the underground subway station, will get us to the actual attraction - you've guessed it, take a bus back to the zhangjiajie west train station 🚞 Day 5: Changsha 🏤 and Back home ✈️ - checked out homestay ❗️buy tickets earlier if not will sold out - take subway, need buy ticket at those self service stop payment better with Alipay cause no cash payment was available. ❗️Ensure correct subway lines, as exiting from subway can go to the opposite lines but actually requires different payment (P.S: if that happens, get assistance from officer to replace ticket money) - We reached WuYi Square 🏤 and opt for Luggage ✈️ transfer direct to airport, as IFS mall has but limited size lockers for luggages 🧳 ❗️Ensure study this alternatives well on lockers storage - Walked around WuYi Square - and return and change lines (line 2 (few stops) and line 6(longer stops)) to arrive at Changsha Huanghua Airport, to check in and departure. ❗️Ensure correct direction of the subway where it is heading to ensure smooth arrivals. #zhangjiajie #travel #changsha
