My first time trying a Hammam (Turkish bath)! I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I’ve visited Turkey and Azerbaijan and have never tried a Hammam before. When I discovered today that there are functioning hammams in Sarajevo, I was convinced I had to try it! I visited the beautiful @isabegovhotel_offical which still houses a traditional Turkish hammam that has been in use since 1462, and I really enjoyed my experience. I was also super fortunate that I was the only customer, so I had the bath all to myself for an hour! You start by changing out of your clothes and you are given a Hammam towel which is a flat thin cloth to cover yourself and to dry yourself. You are then required to shower before entering the bath. I was in the bath for an hour, but you can select a package that allows you to stay on longer. I opted for the traditional package which means I got a scrub after. The soak did my aches and pains after a full week of walking (mostly on slopes) a lot of good! The scrub was even better. I know some people claim that it is rough, but it is meant to be. My therapist was really friendly and professional - after scrubbing my whole body hard & face lightly with a mitten 🧤, she applied the foam and then splashed the water on me using the traditional buckets. I loved it! After the whole ordeal, she then prepared me mentally before splashing ice cold water on me and allowed me to scream haha 🥶 I loved it! If you’re ever in Sarajevo and want to try a Hammam, do pay a visit to the Isa Begov Hammam i Hotel (which is also a hotel). The spa area is females only, so you don’t have to worry about modesty - though like Japanese onsens - you do need to be 100% nude in the bath and during the scrub. A small hipster shop I accidentally discovered Yesterday, I planned to go to the popular Cafe "Buff Not Bitter" in Prince Edward, but it was so crowded that it was completely full! While confused on Great South Street, I accidentally discovered the newly opened 2plus2 Cafe. The shop entrance was mysterious, with only one door and one window, which immediately caught my attention. There were also benches outside the door and it felt like a foreign town in the sunshine, I pushed the door in and started a very chill coffee trip! 🏡☀️ Environment: Simple hipster, hidden and relaxing One step into the store, the environment is really comfortable! The shop is small and minimalist, with soft lighting and light music, instantly isolating the hustle and bustle of Prince. Although there is only one window, the lighting is super good, and quietly emptying is really healing. The patio behind the shop is covered with white gravel, which is super photogenic! 📸 Drink experience: A warm moment of a hot latte I ordered a hot latte with a tumbler, follow his ig and get $3 off, super cheap! The shopkeeper carefully prepared the hot latte milk foam is very smooth, there is a heart-shaped latte art on top, drinking coffee is rich, slightly bitter with a little milk, the temperature is just right, after drinking immediately feel spiritually charged! When you come to Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, how can you miss the Sea to Sky Gondola trip! 🚡 As soon as I got on the cable car, I was amazed by the view of snow-capped mountains, forests and ocean outside the window. The 10-minute journey seemed to go through the clouds and reach the top of the mountain! 🌊 The air on the top of the mountain is so fresh that you want to take a deep breath, and the sea view of Howe Sound in the distance is so beautiful that it takes your breath away! We walked on the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge on the top of the mountain, stood on the bridge and overlooked the valley. There was a deep abyss under our feet. It was super thrilling! 🌉 There are many trails on the mountain, suitable for friends who like hiking. We took a simple route and saw pine forests and wild animals along the way! 📸 There is also a small restaurant on the top of the mountain. It is very relaxing to enjoy snacks while looking at the mountain view. Useful tips: • Transportation: It takes about 45 minutes to drive from downtown Vancouver to Squamish along the Sea to Sky Highway. Franz Josef Glacier Helicopter Adventure First, the best way to reach the glacier is by helicopter, offering a breathtaking aerial view of the Franz Josef Glacier. The flight lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, during which you can admire the expansive view of the glacier stretching to the snowy mountains, flying over crevasses, mountain ranges, and glacial lakes—scenery only visible from a helicopter. After landing on the glacier, a professional guide will provide you with the necessary equipment for the glacier adventure, including crampons and ice axes, and give a brief introduction to the glacier and safety precautions. Once geared up, you will step onto the glacier, walk through crevasses and ice caves, and experience the wonder and grandeur of this millennia-old icy world firsthand. This adventure lasts about 1 to 2 hours, during which you can walk on the glacier, take photos, and observe the intricate structures of the ice and snow. Summer is coming and Changsha has a lot of exciting places you can visit so here are a few recommendations that I visited on my trip. All of these are free except for Orange Island which was like 20rmb or so: 1. Meixi Lake Chinese Knot Bridge (there is no other attraction close by so it’s kinda out of the way but worth it for great photos) 2. Huangxing Square 3. Wuyi Square 4. Taiping Street (shopping for souvenirs - make sure to price shop first because I bought some keychains for 3 times the price another shop had and they were the exact same thing😢) 5. Orange Island (foreigners need to first go to the visitors center to get a slip of paper which you can then use to get a ticket for the in park transport. If you travel to Zhangjiajie, chances are this park is on your list of places. This is a great place to spend the day which you can enjoy and also get at least 10,000 steps. I went solo and it was great. It’s a nature lovers paradise but be prepared for the crowd 😪. I booked the Route B package and that is a bus ride from the office in the city to the base of the mountain where you take the express ropeway up. Once you arrive go ahead and start exploring BUT… MAKE SURE TO GET A TICKET FOR THE ROPEWAY DOWN!!!! To avoid hours of waiting to go down, this is the first thing you should do if you purchased the Route B package. I had to wait over 5 hours after exploring to go back down into the city because I did not know about this. Overall, great experience excluding the wait time. Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 Even though the way local people looked at me was so weird, I do love it very much visiting this country. 3. Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 I'm surprised that people here usually eat the horse meat and that was my very first time trying horse meat and was amazing 🥹 4. Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 I love this local food called Laghman 🤤 you should try this bestest food in the country. 5. Brunei Darussaalam 🇧🇳 There has not much attraction to offer but the mosques. But at least you should try come and visit this country for experience. 6. The Philippines 🇵🇭 People here are so polite and welcoming. In addition if you are going to some local alley, you could find them singing karaoke. 7. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 My very first experience visiting middle east country and that was amazing 🤩 8. Morocco 🇲🇦 The first step in to Africa continent. Yes, people here are very welcoming and friendly. 9. Tunisia 🇹🇳 Never doubt of its kindness. You can tell their pure kindness just by greeting them nicely. That is what makes me would love coming back again! 10. China 🇨🇳 I'm amazed by the very high technology yet still preserve its local culture. 11. Kenya 🇰🇪 This country has the best hospitality ever in my experience so far!!!
