Here’s how I tackled getting up there and enjoying the spectacle: Getting There by Cable Car I took a public bus to the "cable car front station," then walked a short distance to the Fuchi Shrine (Nagasaki Ropeway) Station (淵神社). From there, I hopped on the cable car up to the Mount Inasa Park Observatory. Ticket Price: A round-trip cable car ticket costs 1,250 JPY. Operating Hours: The cable car runs from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with departures every 15-20 minutes. The cable cars themselves are quite large, fitting about 20-30 people per cabin. In the evenings, especially when it's busy, it can get pretty crowded. Luckily, the ride itself only lasts a few minutes. Unless you're lucky enough to be at the very front of the queue, finding a good viewing spot inside the crowded cabin can be a bit of a challenge. At the Summit: Views and Illuminations Once I was at the top, I noticed the wind could be quite strong! So, besides enjoying the night view outdoors, there's also a fantastic three-story building at the summit. Summit Building: The interior of this building is beautifully lit, and the first floor houses a café. You can head up to the upper levels of the building for even more viewing points, which is great if it's too windy or crowded outside. Special Light-Up: To make the night view even more captivating, there's a special light-up event from 8:00 PM to 9:50 PM. During this time, patterns like hearts and constellations are illuminated within the city lights below. These illuminations happen every 15 minutes and last for about 5 minutes each. The heart shape is easy to spot, but you might need to search a bit for the constellations! Mount Inasa offers a truly unforgettable evening experience. The breeze carried a slight chill, prompting me to quicken my pace and embrace the unique charm of this city. San Francisco, with its rich history and culture, always exudes a timeless allure. 🔹 Cable Car Museum: San Francisco's cable cars boast a 45-year history, serving not just as a mode of transportation but as a cultural symbol of the city. The Cable Car Museum, located at the intersection of four main lines, showcases the evolution of cable cars and features the massive turntable that controls their operation. Remarkably, these cable cars run entirely without electricity or gasoline, relying instead on a large underground turntable controlled by the operator's lever. This unique technology is a testament to San Francisco's ingenuity and adds to the admiration for its transportation system. 🔹 Grace Cathedral: Near the Cable Car Museum, I visited Grace Cathedral. This Gothic-style church radiates a solemn aura, and its intricately painted stained glass ceiling left me in awe. Each ray of light passing through the glass seemed to tell a silent story. The cathedral serves not only as a center of religious faith but also as a cultural icon of San Francisco. Walking through its halls invites reflection on the meaning of life. 🔹 San Francisco City Hall: Next, I arrived at San Francisco City Hall, whose grandeur and magnificence compelled me to pause and admire. This row of five brightly colored Victorian houses is one of the city's most iconic landmarks. These houses carry a rich history and are a microcosm of San Francisco's unique culture. Every angle offers a different perspective for photography, making it one of the most memorable spots of my trip. 🔹 Legion of Honor Museum: The Legion of Honor Museum is a paradise for art enthusiasts. It houses a vast collection of European art, including paintings, sculptures, and other forms of artistic expression. Situated on a hill, the museum also offers stunning views of the bay, allowing visitors to enjoy both art and nature's grandeur. 🔹 Cablecar Turntable Powell/Market: Finally, I visited the cable car turntable at Powell and Market. This famous transportation hub features a turntable that rotates daily to redirect cable cars for their next journey. Street Observations: Homelessness and Safety Concerns: One unexpected aspect of my trip was the presence of many homeless individuals in the downtown area. At night, the sounds of sirens and ambulances were frequent. Although I had seen reports in videos and news, witnessing it firsthand was still shocking. Solo travelers should prioritize safety and take precautions. Accommodation: Windsor Castle Inn: Tonight, I stayed at the Windsor Castle Inn again. Its convenient location made it easy to explore the city's major attractions. The comfortable environment provided a stable resting place during my journey. Summary: San Francisco, a city that blends history, art, and modern life, continues to surprise and captivate me. The Schilthorn (2,970 meters) is one of the summits in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland that can be reached without hiking up the mountain. It took us 2.5 hours to get to the Schilthorn, where the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant is located, starting from Interlaken train station and involving multiple train, bus, and cable car rides. We first took a train from Interlaken OST to Lauterbrunnen, which took approximately 20-25 minutes. From Lauterbrunnen, we boarded bus 141 to Stechelberg, the starting point for a series of four cable car rides to the summit. We purchased the cable car tickets online in advance to avoid the queues. The ticket cost CHF 42.80 per person with the Swiss Travel Pass (usual price CHF 108). The intermediate stations included Gimmelwald, Mürren, and Birg. The cable car ride offered impressive views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and surrounding peaks. 🚂 Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen (20 mins) Started my day early in Interlaken. Boarded the train to Lauterbrunnen, a scenic journey with a split at Zweilütschinen. Lauterbrunnen, nestled in a valley with numerous waterfalls, was stunning despite being touristy. 🚡 Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp Station (10 mins) Took a quick cable car ride to Grütschalp Station. The train to Mürren awaited at Grütschalp. 🚞 Grütschalp to Mürren (15 mins) This train ride could be either on a traditional or modern train. Mürren, a beautiful alpine village, greeted me with charming hotels and ski shops. 🌄 Mürren to Schilthorn with a stop at Birg Hopped on a cable car towards Schilthorn, stopping at Birg for a breathtaking mountainside walk. The final leg to Schilthorn (20 mins) led to a summit with a revolving restaurant, a small James Bond museum, and stunning views of the Jungfraujoch. **Visited in summer, so no snow, but the views were still spectacular. Here is the itinerary for 2 days visit. Which is pretty enough to see everything ❣️ Day 1 ❗️ Visiting 3 mountains ⛰️ ⛰️ ⛰️ (all views from above) ⛰️ Mountain 1: YuanJiaJie Get the shuttle bus to Bailong Elevator (it takes 10 min) - Hike or take the Bailong elevator to the top of YuanJiaJie mountain 🛗 - Walk around the mountain to see the avatar mountains. You will see the Heaven Pillar and pass the number 1 bridge in the world (a natural rock bridge linking two mountains) ⛰️ Mountain 2: YangJiaJie From the first mountain get another shuttle bus to YangJiaJie mountain (it takes 10 min). - this mountain doesn’t offer much to do or any nice views, this is the stop to change to the shuttle bus to Tianzi mountain. There is also a cable car here, if you are already tired and want to go to the entrance and leave. ⛰️ Mountain 3: Tianzi Mountain From the second mountain get another shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain (it takes 30 minutes) - at this mountain you will have great views of the avatar mountains. There is a beautiful temple to explore and a big food court. 🍜🥮🍡🍤 - after exploring around, you have two options to go down: cable car + shuttle bus or hike + train + shuttle bus 🚌 Day 2 ‼️ Visit 1 mountain ⛰️ + hike 🥾 (Views from below and above) - At the entrance get a shuttle bus to Bailong Elevator 🥾 follow the signs to Golden Whip River 💦, the hike along the river takes about 2 hours, but is flat all the way. Here you’ll have views from below 🔼 🚌 When you get at the end of the path, get the shuttle bus to HuangShiZhai cable car. 🚠 buy the round trip ⛰️ once at the top of the HuangShiZhai mountain walk around it until you reach the point where you started, it’s gonna take around 1.5 hours, with magnificent views 🥰 To go down get the cable car back, then the shuttle bus to the entrance. 🤑 Prices Entrance 248 yuan (entrance + all shuttle buses) Bailong elevator 65 yuan (one way) Cable cars varies from 65 to 72 (one way) The round trip is double price, there is no deal for taking the round way, so it’s not recommended ❗️ ✨ extra tip ✨ If you want to take the Bailong Elevator, skip the first elevator lines, and go straight to the Bailong line. Yes, there is an elevator to get the elevator (if you are taking it to go up). But it’s really faster just take the stairs to go to the line to Bailong elevator. I went to that town from Zurich by bus. Then buy tickets at the Mount First cable car station. You can also buy from online. if you want to do the activity like paragliding, mountain cart, trrotibike, ice flyer, mountain bicycling, you should book it online ahead. otherwise they will sold out fast. I would like to recommend to stay at least 1 night to do the activity at there. There are many hotel and hostel options at Grindelwald. Then you can also visit to the Interlaken by train. it’s just 30 mins ride. You can also shop Swiss made watches and chocolate at Interlaken. The rain stopped and the skies cleared up as I took a stroll to Sentosa. Made my way to beach station and then took the tram to Siloso beach. Paid $3 for a local price to take the cable car on the Sentosa line. I dropped at the mid way point but there wasnt much to see. So i went back onto the cable car. The whole experience was to see the nice sunset and have an enjoyable weekend out at a low price! Good for couples who do not know what to do on a weekend and want to take some nice photos! Located in the south of the island and connects the island with a smaller island. Total ride is about 15 mins. Each car can hold up to 30 people, it was about 70% full in mine. The view is beautiful. Views of the sea, views of small of islands, and small fishing boats. The car runs along smoothly, and it gets rather high. The ticket price is a bit high. A ride in Songdo cable car is definitely worth the money. You get to enjoy rhe amazing view of songdo beach and its coast from atop. We opted for the Crystal cabin which have transparent floor. The cable car in La Paz is by far the most amazing in the world! Imagine a city 4000m high and surrounded by mountains that uses a cable car system as its main form of transport. This is La Paz 😍 The cable car runs all over the city and operates similarly to a metro in that it has different lines that you can jump on and off to access different areas. It’s immaculately clean, very safe and super cheap. Its honestly the best public transport system I’ve ever used. Very little queuing and clearly sign posted so you can’t go wrong. The drive there is over a mountain pass and is beautiful. Attractions - Many arts and crafts shops, food, culture. The options are endless when it comes to this village- it’s suitable for the whole family. Food & Restaurants - There are many snack stores everywhere and a few Western and local restaurant options. Shopping - Expect to see many traditional clothing and other souvenirs and crafts unique to the culture. You could literally spend half a day here.
