🛍 Two of My Favorite Shops to Visit in Bukchon
INTRO
Bukchon is often celebrated for its traditional hanoks and heritage atmosphere—but it’s also home to some of Seoul’s most charming and thoughtfully curated shops. Here are two personal favorites I return to again and again for their beauty, craftsmanship, and peaceful energy.
💍 Tanello – Rustic Elegance in Gold & Silver
📍Address - 1F, 10 Bukchon‑ro 5‑gil, Jongno‑gu, Seoul
🏖Ambiance/Facilities - A cozy boutique with a warm, understated design that mirrors the artisanal nature of the pieces
💡Highlights - Specializing in handcrafted gold and silver jewelry, Tanello leans into a rustic, textured aesthetic—perfect for those who appreciate organic forms and timeless imperfections. From hammered rings to antique-style pendants, each piece feels intimate and unique.
💵Avg. Price per Person - $80–$250
⭐️Rating - ★★★★☆
🎨 Corner Gallery – A Boutique for Art Lovers
📍Address - 2‑1 Jaedong, Jongno‑gu, Seoul
🏖Ambiance/Facilities - A hanok-inspired, glass-front corner boutique with soft natural light and a minimalist, peaceful interior
💡Highlights - Though technically a micro-gallery, Corner Gallery operates more like a design-forward concept shop, showcasing rotating art and object collections. Small-scale, contemplative, and often free to enter, it invites shoppers to discover new perspectives—whether through prints, limited-edition zines, or curated handmade goods. Every visit feels different.
💵Avg. Price per Person - Usually free to browse; some items available for purchase during shows
⭐️Rating - ★★★★☆
CONCLUSION
Both Tanello and Corner Gallery embody the spirit of Bukchon—where traditional sensibilities meet modern craftsmanship. Whether you're shopping for a meaningful gift or simply taking a slow afternoon stroll, these shops are always worth a visit.

🇰🇷 Bukchon Hanok Village
Bukchon Hanok Village is a traditional Korean village located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. It is known for its well-preserved hanok houses, which are traditional Korean houses characterized by their unique architectural style and use of natural materials. Situated between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, two of the main royal palaces from the Joseon Dynasty, the village was traditionally home to high-ranking government officials and nobility. The closest subway stations to Bukchon Hanok Village are Anguk Station (Line 3, Exit 2) and Jongno 3-ga Station (Line 1, Line 3, Line 5, Exit 1). From either station, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the village.

Bukchon Hanok Village and its famous BR🍦
Bukchon Hanok Village is a beautiful village where you can witness beautifully constructed houses and buildings in the traditional korean style, i.e., Hanok style.
The cover picture is the main street containing traditional houses on both sides. There are various Hanok rental shops as well where you can rent traditional Korean dresses. You will see many people dressed in Hanok and clicking pictures, particularly in this street.
There are many, many famous brands here that have constructed their showroom completely in Hanok style🤩
One such case is BaskinRobbins! They have opened a Hanok style branch and sell completely Korean flavored ice creams, which you won't find in normal Baskin Robbins. We tried one such ice cream by the name of "Sweet corn ice cream," and it was yummy😋
A beautiful street with beautiful houses and shops :)

#Youth @youth_coffee21 quiche
Today, I introduce #youth @youth_coffee21, a quiche restaurant in Anguk Station that I went in to fill my stomach and fell in love with the interior!
#youth latte
Thanks to the right amount of cinnamon powder sprinkled on top, you can enjoy the sweet scent of spice to a subtle degree. Lately, I've been visiting espresso bars a lot, so I think I only drank sweet espresso, but cinnamon for Christmas! It's the national rule! It's ICE ONLY, but it's winter, so I want to find more cinnamon latte.
#risotto cream quiche
The creamy white sauce contains unlimited amounts of mushrooms and bacon, so you can feel the immorality of the cream every time you bite into a piece.. please!! Stop by and eat, and leave one! (It's mine)
#pork quiche
Slightly spicy Beware! Guhwang Crop Rubber ordered a potato pie again, but I think I can feel the spiciness better after eating the cream sauce first! However, the sweetness from the pork and onions seems to make the softness of the potatoes stand out even more! If you eat it with a latte, it's happy HERE...
I was able to enjoy my own guilty feeling while reading my favorite book in the attic.
The sun-drenched terrace seats are nice, but I lost my heart to the very, very pretty underground space.
It was a guilty space that took away even the mouths, thoughts and bodies of reading and dreamers... I hope you will do business for a long time.
I love you❤️🔥

Bukchon Hanok
This area is open between 10:00 - 17:00, there are guards around to watch over this residential area.
Best to keep quiet when roaming through.
Good to come here around the morning, there is a relatively steep road which is the key photo spot.
I heard the observatory is not that impressive, so we just roam around the alleys around this area.
You may find some hanbok rental nearby (traditional Korean wear) if you fancy to stroll around the historic buildings in traditional Korean costume. Price for rental ranges between 10,000KRW to 30,000KRW.#hanbok #hanok #seoul #bukchon 🕰️

Traditional Korean houses!
#visitseoul
One of the most famous and interesting places to visit in Seoul is undoubtedly Bukchon Han Ok Village.
It is surrounded by Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine, so a great destination to add to your “Korean culture tour”. The most special aspect about this place is the traditional houses, called hanok, that date back to the Joseon dynasty. Many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience the traditional Korean culture. There are many cute boutique shops and cafes with very amusing and specific themes (like the poop cafe in Insadong) and workshops that you can partake in. Even the Starbucks in the area has a sign written in Korean, giving off a traditional vibe consistent with the rest of this popular cultural destination. However, this village is an actual neighborhood where people also live, so visitors are advised to be respectful at all times while looking around.
There is also a tourist center there that you can receive help from if you need any guidance.
The best way to get to this village is getting to Anguk subway station and then walking to the village.
This area is also not too far from the Namsan Tower which is a nice walk uphill if you want some exercise, but also beautiful to observe from afar in the evening when they turn on the lights. So after touring Hanok Village and the palaces during the day, Namsan Tower might be a great way to end your day.

After brea
After breakfast we went for the perfect winter stroll through Bukchon Hanok Village. The higher you get the more beautiful the view looking down on the city. You can rent traditional clothing to wear and take photos in, or like us admire those who have. People do actually live there, so most road signs ask you to please be respectful and walk the streets quietly which gives the village a very peaceful vibe. It was a quiet morning as we went on a Tuesday and not much seemed to be open. We found a cute little cafe where we had affogato and cookies, complimentary of the very kind owner. There is an amazing sock shop hidden down one of the alleys which you can completely get lost in! It was hard to stop at a few pairs! 🧦 #seoultravel #seoul #bukchon #bukchonhanokvillage #koreanhistory
