This specific Art Gallery is called the UCCA edge gallery and it’s located in the Jing an district in Shanghai China. this is a super amazing gallery that showcases so many different art forms and modern art. Hidden on Yuyuan Road is a pop-up venue with no staff members and nothing for sale. Looks can be deceiving. It’s not your clothing boutique, instead, it’s a small storefront filled with stories depicted through pictures and text. As time passes, old stories on display at this city museum get swapped out for new ones. Nestled at the entrance of a traditional lane residential compound, the tiny venue’s atmosphere feels a bit retro. At it’s opening, stories about what live used to be like on Yuyuan Road filled the walls and hung from the ceiling. Passersby have a chance to contribute their own stories to the current theme as well. Stationery tools, pens, and paper are at their disposal, while tables and chairs provide an open space for writing. Reading the stories and secrets of local residents give the street a new meaning and an added layer of depth. Somewhat hidden behind More Than Eat in the bustling Jing’an Temple area is Julu758. Originally an instrument and meter factory, this relatively large building has been remodeled into a multifunctional innovation center. Julu Road, which stretches from Jing’an through Huangpu is a popular street for shopping and dining. The street is likely named after a county in Hebei Province, though the literal meaning of “julu” is “giant deer.” In continuation with this play on words, a giant golden deer can be found outside of Julu758.  The industrial feel of the building has been preserved through the remodel, creating a fresh, open space with cafés, restaurants, shops, and work spaces. One of the highlights is FREITAG, a two story shop selling all sorts of functional bags made from recycled waterproof materials.
