Day 1: Exploring the City’s Iconic Landmarks
💗Arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and started the trip with a visit to Tan Dinh Parish Church 🎀, also known as the “Pink Church.” The pastel pink facade is even more stunning in person!
💗Strolled over to the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office 💌, a beautifully preserved colonial-era building designed by Gustave Eiffel. The interior feels like stepping back in time!
💗Checked out the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon ⛪, though it’s under renovation, the twin towers still make for a great photo backdrop.
💗Had dinner at Phở Hòa Pasteur 🍜—one of the best bowls of pho I’ve had! The broth was rich, and the beef was so tender.
Day 2: Café Hopping & City Vibes
💕Started the day at Bánh Mì Hòa Mã 🥖, a local favorite for breakfast. Their banh mi is served with a sizzling hot plate of eggs and meats—so satisfying!
💕Walked around the bustling city streets and explored the Hồ Chí Minh City People’s Committee 🏛️. While it’s not open to the public, the exterior is grand and worth a visit.
💕Spent the afternoon at The Cafe Apartments ☕—a super unique spot where an old apartment building has been transformed into trendy cafés and boutiques! Had coffee at one of the cafés while enjoying a view of the city.
💕Had dinner at Bếp Mẹ Ỉn 🍽️, a cozy spot serving homely Vietnamese food. Their caramelized pork was so good!
Day 3: Last Sips Before Heading Home
💘Grabbed a quick coffee at Highlands Coffee Nguyễn Thái Học ☕—a local chain but a great place to chill and people-watch.

cosy and relaxing
This was an interesting recommendation from a Vietnamese friend. It has this antique decor which is refreshing. The menu was great and our food was mostly delicious. We ended up visiting the place twice due to its cost effectiveness as well. The menu offers a delightful selection of healthy dishes and drinks, perfect for a leisurely brunch.
I particularly enjoyed the Souffle Omelette, which was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The English-speaking staff were attentive and helpful, ensuring a smooth dining experience. The relaxed vibe and charming decor make it a delightful escape from the bustling city streets outside. If you are tired or find other cafes repetitive, I think this might be worth the trip.

Nice cafe
While being a chain coffee shop, this cafe still manages to retain so much character. I like that it is focused on more vietnamese elements than replicating modern wester coffee chains. They are unique branch of a chain coffee shop.
Something about its concrete interiors with that military green shade. Its located on the 2nd floor of an old building with rustic decor and has a balcony area for the customers to enjoy coffee while doing some people watching. There is a quaint alley way leading to the stairs there are artists selling paintings. It's fascinating. Does get a bit crowded and that's when it seems small and tight. Good coffee though. Tried their coconut coffee.

Healthy Food
I came here with a vietnamese friend for lunch two days in a row. She is one of them modern health conscious vientnamese that does everything western from lifestyle to food. So she spoke highly of this place.
At the core it's a decent place to get a clean bowl of greens and your proteins. The portion of the poke bowl is worth the price because elsewhere you wont get these ingredients at once. The taste is decent and sort of healthy, i have no problem with it.
Althoguh i hate the name i did try the California bowl. Recommended probably due to it's name. The salmon was fresh and veggies were crunchy. Every component is good and seemed well refrigerated. The prices were acceptable as mentioned but if you have been eating locally and vietnamese food. this might feel like atleast 4-5 meals worth at a vietnamese restaurant.

Most unique church
While exploring ho chi Minh, i passed hy this beautiful yellow church several times. But it was never my destination until a local friend offered to show me. This is by far the most unique church I have seen. And i saw plenty of them in Europe and practically most western countries.
What makes the st Francis xavier church of ho chi Minh unique is the alamgamation of Christian and Chinese elements in design and approach. It was made to mostly cater to the Chinese community in ho chi Minh. Conducts masses in several languages. Located in district 5, this is best reached with a motorbike considering the traffic and how busy this area gets.

Aesthetic cafe
This is a beautiful aesthetic cafe hidden in the Ben Thanh area. There is no shortage of vintage or aesthetic or appealing cafe's in saigon. They also serve very convincing drinks for its in their culture and nothing foreign. But what works also in it's favour is that this cafe offers a refuge form the Ben Thanh madness.
That is if you are able to locate it. Makes for a good afternoon spot. Started with an ice tea of theirs. Was perfect for the weather and then jumped on the bestseller that is egg coffee. We had two with cookies. Excellent creamy way of doing coffee. Comes recommended.

Speciality Coffee in Saigon
This is amongst those places which takes it's coffee seriously. I loved saigon coffee roastery the moment I steeped foot in it's garden seating. What a beautiful place with high roof and the coffee aroma lingering everywhere.
I was also able to comfortably conduct work over coffee several times. It never gets too crowded and there are so many varieties of coffee. Both sold in packets and freshly brewed as a menu offering. The people working here are passionate about coffee and so informative. I loved every variation of coffee that I tried. They have a huge variety of beans and when I left, I bought some vietnamese varieties from them.

A Must Visit Place In HCMC🇻🇳
#hochiminhcity
this time i visited Vietnam’s Independence Palace that located in Ho Chi Minh City, this place also publicly known as the Reunification Convention Hall. Independence Palace is one of the most famous landmark in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This place was the home and workplace of the president of the Republic of Vietnam. It played a crucial role in Vietnam's history, particularly during the Vietnam War. This place is a must-visit tourist spot due to its historical significance and architectural beauty.
PS: the location is near Ben Thanh Market, after visiting this place you can go to shopping at the market🩷

Visiting One Of HCMC’s Landmark 🇻🇳
#hochiminhcity
If you come to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam don’t forget to visit one of the most famous landmarks in town: Sai Gon Central Post Office. This place is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral. Sai Gon Central Post Office has an interesting design, the interior design is a perfect combination of neo-classical European architecture and Asian decorations, such an instagram-worthy place!

HCMC's Historical Gem
#hochiminhcity
Another landmark of Ho Chi Minh City is the Reunification or Independence Palace. It is a historical gem because it educates the tourists on the happenings of the Vietnam War. The palace is massive and located at the center of the city. There is an entrance fee but for the amount of places to see, the fee is worth it. We visited on a Sunday so be prepared for the throng of people if you’re coming on a weekend. What surprised me is that there’s a lot of local people also visiting the palace.
The building is of modern style. The façade and the lawn with the water feature in front has a very authoritative or commanding feel. There are counters where you can avail of the audio-guided tours. The rooms are all open for photos but are barricaded so you could only take photos from outside of the room, you cannot go in. There’s a lot to see, from basement to top, be prepared to take stairs too, since the lifts are small and hard to find. There were really a lot to photograph. I especially loved the rooftop where there are scenic viewpoints. There’s a souvenir shop at the top too, with refreshments you can buy for a break.

Thien Hau Temple: Must visit in HCMC
#hochiminhcity
Thien Hau Temple is a Chinese temple in Ho Chi Minh’s Chinatown. We scheduled this spot on our second day as this place is also far from the city center. We reached the temple via grab and arrived without much people in there. The gate is just along the road with the temple having a huge setback from the road. Reading from the websites, it was advised to dress modestly, thus lumping this place with other attractions that need modest dressing. The temple’s entrance isn’t that striking, it’s simple and typical Chinese architecture. When we got inside, the interior is much more intricate. The detailing and smell of incense would really make you mindful of the whole temple. We saw the famous incense rings and watched as others prayed and lit the incense rings with the temple staff helping them hang it onto the ceiling. We eventually tried it following what the previous people did and luckily the temple staff were able to converse with us on how to do it, and even encourage us to take photos while lighting the incense rings and pray. I can definitely recommend going here and try lighting up your own incense rings as this is a unique experience for a non-Buddhist like me.

📚 Ho Chi Minh's Book Street 📚
#hochiminhcity
One great thing about tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh is that they are close to each other. After visiting Saigon Post Office, the famous Book Street is only a walking distance away. The Book Street can easily be recognized due to the arc entrance. The street is lined up with shops selling books, stationery, and souvenirs. Coffee shops and cafes can also be found here if you’re needing a break from all the walking around. The street is pedestrian only thus allowing for tables and seating to be setup in the middle of the road. Even though the books here aren’t in English, I still definitely enjoyed looking through stationeries for souvenirs. I bought postcards and stickers to add to my collection. Also the street is worth visiting just for the atmosphere and peaceful surroundings. The street is also lined up with trees so it was not hot when we visited. I would definitely come back if I had a longer stay in the city.

Roadside is paradise
We set off for the airport at 6 a.m. and immediately caught up on some sleep on the plane. A few hours later, when I was still half asleep, I heard the captain’s safety broadcast about our upcoming landing at the Ho Chi Minh International Airport in Vietnam. Then I listened to the captain’s cold, professional spoken words about welcoming to Ho Chi Minh City, thanking everyone for their cooperation in making sure the landing was safe, etc. The captain then mentioned the local weather, and when I heard the airport say that the current temperature in Ho Chi Minh City was 36 degrees Celsius, I woke up! What? 36 degrees? From 10 degrees Celsius at Osaka Airport in Japan to 36 degrees Celsius in Ho Chi Minh City, I had to adapt to a temperature difference of 26 degrees in just a few hours. I felt a little dizzy at that moment.
As soon as I stepped out of the airport, I immediately felt the warmth. I was thinking that in this kind of weather, we wouldn’t be able to go to many places on this trip.
After sunset, the weather gradually cooled down and it started to be a bit breezy. Walk out of the hotel casually and come to one of the most lively tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City - Fijian Walking Street. The shop owners placed tables and chairs on the roadside, fully presenting the Vietnamese style.
After sitting down, we immediately ordered the local Saigon beer, and of course the local snacks. After dark, Ho Chi Minh City lost the hot weather during the day and gained the warm hospitality of the local Vietnamese people!

Galerie Quynh Contemporary Art
This is the only local contemporary art exhibition I saw during my trip to Ho Chi Minh City. The artists' exhibits are relatively large and heavy. If you want to buy some to take home, you can. It costs about US$4,000. They can also be shipped out of town! If you are interested, the address of the above exhibition is also in Figure 2! 🥳🥳

4 stars hotel you shouldn’t miss in HCMC
From the very first time I stayed in this hotel, I can say that I became one of their loyal customers. Can’t count how many times I have choose to stay here. The moment that you walk inside their lobby you can feel “ahh wow, this hotel is quite nice”
They got many different types of room and the interior is gorgeous, even the price is really reasonable, or be more precisely, very competitive in SG comparing to other “4 stars” hotels.
Rooftop bar is ok, although the swimming pool is small and not too deep, if you are aiming to find a hotel that can swim, this pool is not that suitable.
To sum up, if I am going to SG and feeling lazy to pick the hotel for staying, I will choose Cochin zen because I know they will not let me down :)

Everyone heard Hon Chi Minh is chaotic and busy. It’s true, but also it’s diverse, vibrant and colorful.Taking a walk right in the city center during a slow afternoon was one of the best decisions to explore some part of the city.As I stayed in the city center reaching several spots was just 15-20 minute walk.
Here is a little itinerary:

Exciting Ho Chi Minh!
#100WaysOfTravel#hcmc
Welcome to exciting and fun Ho Chi Minh city , the economic hub of Vietnam for first time travellers there. You wouldn't believe that this country went through a devastating war as what you will see and experience is totally the opposite. Modern yet she still retains her cultural way of life. Go beyond Ho Chi Minh like nearby Cu Chi tunnels, Ben Tre and Mekong Delta if you have limited time to experience less of city life. Not to be missed are the different themes of cafes which are Instagram-able .
