Visited the Flowers Exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, and it was nothing short of breathtaking! 🌺💐 The exhibition beautifully explores the theme of flowers in art—ranging from delicate, classical interpretations to bold, contemporary pieces bursting with colour and texture. The curation was stunning, with each piece capturing a unique perspective on nature’s most timeless subject. #bookstoresandgalleries Visiting the Guildhall Art Gallery in London was a highlight of my trip! 🎨 Located in the heart of the City of London, the gallery is free to enter, offering a fantastic array of art, from Victorian masterpieces to modern works. The highlight for me was the impressive collection of 19th-century paintings and the fascinating Roman amphitheater beneath the gallery. After enjoying the art, I strolled around the nearby Guildhall Yard and explored the historic architecture. We saw an exhibition called Strange Clay - but even if you don’t catch an exhibition, head to the Southbank centre and you’ll see: 🏗 Some of London’s most famous Brutalist architecture. Think ugly-pretty huge swathes of concrete. 🛹 Under the gallery is one of London’s coolest skate parks. Watch on as people do tricks in the concrete overhand of the gallery. 🛟 River views; some of the best views of London can be seen from the Southbank Centre. 🌮 Wahacca! Just by the gallery is a big yellow shipping container with some really great Mexican street food. Head to the second floor and sit by the window for unbeatable London views! 🚀 Getting There - Head to Waterloo or Black-fryers Station 🖼 Attractions - in the Southbank Centre alongside the Hayward Gallery, is the National Theatre. It’s AMAZING. They have really contemporary file-breaking theatre. Getting There - go to Black fryers, or London Bridge station. alternative if you’re on the North bank of the river, cross over on the Millennium bridge. Attractions - the Tate modern currently has some wood exhibits including the currently sold out Yayoi Katsuma. We saw the woven masterpieces by Hotels - Stay in Shipping Containers for luxe stays on the river, a stones through from theatre land, Covent Garden, Borough Market and More. Food & Restaurants - the restaurant at the top of the Tate is normally for members only, but it’s worth splashing out for. The terrace has amazing views. Alternatively if you’re on a budget just ten minutes walk away is the amazing ##boroughmarket for gourmet street food and local produce. Shopping - the Tate Modern has several shops with really impressive collections of design and lifestyle books, prints, cards, and jewellery.
