#timetotravel Definitely worth visiting to see where the Olympics 2008 Opening and closing ceremonies were held. This is massive wit impressive modern architecture. It is located inside the olympic park with other sports compex but the Bird's Nest has become an icon of the 2008 Beijing Olympics . To stand up close to Bird's nest makes you even appreciate the intricate and complex design of the structure. I suggest go there late afternoon like 5 o'clock so it won't be too hot especially in the summer so then you get to see it lit up as well. It is even more beautiful with the lights on. When in Munich you must visit the Olympic Park located at OlympiaPark station. The park is huge and free. There are so much to do within the park for example tours at the stadium, visit the halls of swimming, go up the tower for a Munich city view, hike at the park and go up the mountain top for amazing views. If you love sports and are interested in the history of Olympic games, the place definitely should be on the list of things to do, and it is also one of my favorite spots in Switzerland. I spent about 3-4 hours here, and thanks to the many interactive activities, my family had a lot of  fun, it well worth the time. We also had our lunch at the Tom café located on top of the museum where offers a great lake view and delicious food. If you have plenty of time, you can take the regular boats to Evian which sits opposite Lausanne. A real must see in Lausanne, highly recommended! #familyvacation #olympicpark #evian

But over the time, they started appreciating this art 🎨. Similarly, after some 50 years later here comes the Olympics international stadium 🏟️ in Beijing holding that metallic look. The locals call it with nick name 鸟巢 ( Bird's nest), for the shape of it. The 2008 Olympics 🏊🚴🏋️ event happened here very grand; followed by again it will be in the spotlight for 2022 Winter Olympics which is the first time occurrence. The stadium is designed to withstand earthquakes, by carefully designing the structure and the kind of metal used to build this. I arrived in Beijing on a cool morning, buzzing with excitement. The city felt like a blend of the ancient and the new, with towering skyscrapers beside structures that held centuries of history. I had only five days here, but I was determined to make each one unforgettable. Day 1: Exploring the Forbidden City On the first day, I headed straight to the Forbidden City. Walking through the massive entrance, I was hit by the grandeur of it all—I spent hours exploring the palace, wandering from one hall to the next, and feeling like I’d stepped into a different era. Later, I treated myself to some authentic Peking duck, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The flavors were rich, and I knew my adventure had started off Day two was all about one of the world's most iconic landmarks—the Great Wall of China. I chose to visit the Mutianyu section, known for being a bit quieter than the more popular areas. The journey took around two hours, and the scenery on the way was beautiful. When I arrived, I took a cable car up, watching as the wall grew closer and closer, snaking along the mountains. Once I stepped onto the wall, I felt a mix of awe and amazement. Walking along its ancient stones, I could imagine the soldiers who once guarded it. It was a bit windy up there, but the views were incredible. Every step I took felt like a piece of history. Day 3: Temple of Heaven and Wangfujing Street I started day three with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, a peaceful and beautiful spot where emperors once came to pray for good harvests. The architecture was stunning, and I spent some time watching locals practicing Tai Chi and playing traditional Chinese instruments in the surrounding park. Later, I headed to Wangfujing Street for some shopping. The street was vibrant, filled with shops, food stalls, and interesting souvenirs. I couldn’t resist trying a few unique snacks, even a scorpion skewer—it was surprisingly crunchy! Day 4: Pearl Market and Summer Palace On day four, I went shopping at the Pearl Market, a well-known spot for bargaining and finding unique items.
