This is the best folk and cultural performance I have ever watched. This is presented by the Tumen Ekh Ensemble in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. Tumen Ekh Ensemble is a renowned traditional Mongolian performance group known for showcasing the Mongolia's rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and throat singing. Address - WW78+3C5, SBD - 1 khoroo, Ulaanbaatar 14241, Mongolia Highlights - First highlight was throat singing, which is a unique technical skill and the musician paired this with horse fiddle. Next, the highly skilled contortionists performed some epic acrobatics and showcased their exceptional flexibility. Adorning myself in the vibrant, ornate costumes added a personal connection to the culture. The intricate patterns and colors not only made me feel like part of the performance but also deepened my appreciation for the artistry involved. Yotsudake is one of the traditional Ryukyu dances. The dancers wear a flower shaped hat, and a bingata kimono. They hold a pair of instruments similar to castanets which are made from four (yotsu) pieces of bamboo (take). They clap the yotsudake in time to the music. As I moved, I could feel the rhythm of the music and the spirit of the dance, making it a truly unforgettable way to engage with Okinawa's rich folk traditions. For event fans like me, we could find LatinLand Festival last few weekends, and the upcoming BeerNations 🍺 upcoming festival for beer lovers. These events take place for several weekends of June and July in Alacheng shopping mall. My hibiscus mezcal cocktail was perfect to enjoy sunny Sunday afternoon and Latin music. Mezcal is directly imported from Mexico (but has no worm, sadly). Many people were open to dance, play games and see Latin dance shows like salsa and Brazilian samba. Great gathering for groups of friends and families. Clowns show made the kids very excited. There are also several food and craft shops, not only Latin American owned. If you missed, don’t worry. La Social is one of the best places for Latin music and dancing nonstop in Shanghai. This place is part of a franchise you may find in different areas of China. This place is relatively small, considering the amount of people that comes in everyday and how hard it is to find enough space to dance. Nevertheless, La Social it’s one of the favorite locations for expats and locals. Like you can perceive in the pictures, La Social will be crowded every day, even at 3am on a weekend or holiday. If you are flying to Salvador, Bahia, make sure to check out Itacaré. This is an amazing location with great surfing beaches, beautiful trails and active night life every day. You can take percussion, #dance, #surfing, #capoeira classes. I only planned to stay there for a week but ended up extending my accommodation for two and a half weeks. You can get there by taking a ferry from Salvador and then by bus. It is definitely worth the time and effort.

#balitrip The Kecak fire dance performance at Uluwatu Temple is a entrallibg cultural experience that captivates audiences with its rhythmic, trance-like chanting and dramatic storytelling. Set against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset over the Indian Ocean, the dance recounts the epic Ramayana story through a dynamic blend of music, movement, and fire. The performers, dressed in traditional Balinese attire, create an electrifying atmosphere with their energetic vocals and intricate choreography. A group of men sitting around the stage grounds chant and make music for the whole performance. There is also a part of the performance where they use real fire. Seemed like it could get a bit dangerous if not well managed, but they knew what they were doing. They also do make it interactive with the audience at times, adding to the amusement. When we went, there were two different times for the performance, 6pm and 7pm. Once you enter the Uluwatu temple main entrance, you walk towards the main square where most people go to for the view of the sunset. There is the ticket booth for the performance. There are usually long lines but goes by pretty fast. The tickets as of July 2024 were 150,000IDR per person. When the entrance is about to open, there is an announcement made and you can start lining up. It is not well-organised by any means and they fill the seats up to the max, but I thought it was worth it. I really enjoyed the unique costumes and facial expressions, the performance, and the manual soundtrack the men were making.
