Zhangjiajie is a “little” town (over 1.6 million people living in there) close by a few incredible natural, cultural and historic sites. At least a few days here are worth the visit. - a couple of days hiking inside the #zhangjiajienationalforestpark and the famous Avatar-movie mountains and pillars (the main photo I took and shared is the #avatarhallelujahmountain - its name changed after the movie made the pillar quite famous). The national park is huge and two or three days are just enough to visit the best spots by busses, cable cars, elevators and hiking a lot. Amazing park, well kept and clean, beautiful views. - second spot is the infamous #zhangjiajiegrandcanyonglassbridge - a big suspended bridge over the beautiful Zhangjiajie Canyon. It supposed to be scary. It wasn’t. The canyon view is wonderful, glass bridge, a little less. - third on the list is the #tianmenmountain and its jaw dropping #heavensgate - you get to the base of the heaven’s gate by cable cars and to get to the natural cave you need to be ready to go through 999 very steep steps. Massive burn on my calves 🔥 but, again, super worthy! Amazing spot 😍 - finally, the #72wondertowerzhangjiajie - I was really surprised by this. The #72qilou , or 72 strange building, is the #guinnesworldrecord for the highest stilted building 😯 . It’s beautiful during the day, but astonishing at night. You pay 88 yuan the entrance and you have access to endless show from 6pm, including cultural songs, dancing and a crazy fire show 🔥 🔥 A-M-A-Z-I-N-G First part of the #hunan province in #china was a blessing ❤️🪭🇨🇳 Let’s go China

Tianmen Mountain is another popular tourist attraction in Zhangjiajie. It is a unique mountain with a large natural gap. When looking up from below, it looks like a door to heaven. In addition to the Heaven's Gate, there are other highlights here, such as the world's longest cable car, 999 steps, 99 curves road, glass balcony on the cliff, hanging cable car, suspension bridge, and many more. There are several ways to get to Tianmen Mountain. The park sells tickets for 3 routes. The easiest and least tiring way is Line A, which takes you up to the top, then walks down to various points and takes the bus back to the cable car station below. 💰Ticket price: 278 yuan 🚙 Transportation: High Speed ​​Train Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. The journey started with the world’s longest cable car ride from downtown Zhangjiajie to the top of the mountain – about 30 minutes of stunning views over the city, cliffs, and forests. Make sure you get a window seat for photos! At the summit, the glass skywalks offer a heart-pounding thrill for those not afraid of heights. We took a cable car up to see the view. We've taken cable cars in many places before, but this one is really long and beautiful. I love it so much! We went in early winter, the temperature was around 3 degrees Celsius. The trees were covered in frost. It was stunningly beautiful, but the ground was very slippery. We had to walk very hard. This trip was quite a lot of walking because of the grandeur. But when we got to the top, it was worth it. It was so high. I spent four days in Zhangjiajie and needed to dedicate one of those days to Tianmen mountain. It’s worth seeing, but I do need to caution that there are an insane number of people, so be prepared to wait hours in line to take the lift down. But the natural arch is unique and the views are nice. The winding roads up there are quite something too. Heaven's Gate Mountain is a mountain located within Tianmen Mountain National Park, Zhangjiajie, in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, China. It offers many breathtaking views! Compared with the other attractions in Zhangjiajie, Tianmenshan is a *little* disappointing, but this is due almost exclusively to the over-commercialisation and the crowds. Try to avoid visiting in peak season if you can. If you can't, then just be ready to go with it and accept it for what it is. You'll stand in a few queues and you'll be cropping people out of your pictures, but your Instagram will look great 😅. The views are stunning and worth it. The cableway is something special and a definite must if you're a cableway fan like me. I reccomend booking route B (Shorter, express cableway up, and the main long cableway on the way down). This way, you can time your trip to catch the sunset on the way down. However you decide to do it, there's plenty to enjoy in the park: Gorgeous mountainside paths (my favourite part), glass elevators, super long escelators etc. Some of the stuff seems a bit gimmicky and unnecessary but that's because this traveler likes his nature to be, well, natural 🤷‍♂️. FYI: All routes start at the ticket office in the town. There are shuttles to take you where you need to go, according to the route and times you booked. You only *really* need 5-6 hours to enjoy everything the park has to offer but, if you can book tickets for earlier in the morning(at peak times, you need to book at least 2 days in advance) then you can take your time about it. Tianmenshan is comfortably done within a day. Going to the Tianmenshan in the winter is a choice not a must because it's very cold and if you're not lucky maybe the place will be close if the weather not good. But believe me, the scenery mountain with the snow is very beautiful and different than other weather. The escalator during snow is free 🤑 Tips: 1. buy ticket in advance for sure you can entry the travel place 2. You can use anti slip to avoid slip in the snow because it's very slippery 3.
