Recommended by a friend, we made our way to Chu Roast in Bangkok to give it a try. The place was bustling during peak lunch hour and seating was limited, so we had to queue for a bit before being seated — a testament to its popularity. We went for all the signature dishes: char siew, wontons, and soy chicken. • The char siew had a nice sweetness and tender texture, but I personally would have preferred a stronger charred or smoky edge for more depth. • The wontons were generously filled and juicy — definitely a highlight of the meal. • The soy chicken was decent, but we found the marinade didn’t fully infuse the meat, resulting in a slightly bland experience. The dining space is quite compact, and we noticed a steady stream of takeaway orders — possibly a better option if you’re in a rush. We had breakfast here and were genuinely impressed by the sheer variety and quality of dishes available.
