I’ve been to Bankok many times and on this trip, I decided to go on the canal tour for the afternoon. It was rather enlightening as most of the tour was in narrow canals surrounding the heart of the city. Firstly, I went to Bkk Boat trip company and got the ticket, I was transported by motorbike to the pier and waited a few minutes for the longtail to arrive. All the passengers got on and the journey began. We had to wait for the water control gates to close behind us and open in front. Going up and down on the murky waters, we got to see the contrast of the city, the living spaces of those that reside next to the water. There are a few restaurants, and in the distance we also passed the big golden Buddha. #citydaytours During my time in Toulouse and nearby day trips like Albi and Carcassonne. My favourite thing was Canal du midi. This gorgeous canal passes by both Toulouse and Carcassone. With over 240 kms long, this canal passes by some spectacular locations that make for great sightseeing spots and activities. Here I have put together a day tour plan which focuses purely on the best exploits around the canal du midi. Starting with a heritage walk that begins from the tourist center in Toulouse. You will pass by several points like the rode bridge, the tripple lock staircase all the way to Trebes. Here you have several restaurants and shops. A bike path to chose between 13 kms to carcassonne or 10 kms to Marseillete. On the path you will come across the Anguilla lock and several wooden characters. The path will pass by rice farms, vineyards and apple orchards as we reach the marseillete lake. A few minutes later as we reach the 13 km carcassonne point. There is a port that offers boat tours. This is a 2 hour long guided tour that will orient you with most beautiful of scenery. Upon return we're headed towards minervois, where we see the argent double spillway bridge. To grab a bite we take a break in homps. The lake side setting even gives the option of swimming and relaxing. Maison des vins du mervois has interesting items for those with the shopping intent. #timetotravel Amsterdam is a city known for its long waterways (if you look at the world map, the aerial view of Amsterdam is like that of a spider web). Therefore, the best way to explore the Amsterdam Canal is via a Canal Cruise!! When I visited Amsterdam back in July, I booked the Canal Booze Cruise with a local operator called “We Are Amsterdam & Starboard Boats”, as the name suggests, the cruise provides free flow alcoholic drinks which is superb. As I was solo travelling, at first, I thought it might be weird to get onto the cruise by myself. However, the operator, the guide and other passengers have proven me wrong. The guide did a very good job at explaining the history of Amsterdam and what I can conclude after the Canal Cruise is that the Dutch were poor designers and architects. It is because they used to build houses with wood and a fire had burned all of the houses, and the same accident happened twice in history. I was also told that the “Dancing Houses” on Damrak Canal was formed because the Dutch built the houses on stilts which caused it to wobble, tilt and sink into the river. As I was sitting next to a group of Vietnamese girls from the States, we began having conversations and I made friends with them! Gorgeous historical city one hour from Shanghai, 30 min away from Wuxi. Known for its rich history, beautiful canals, bridges, classical gardens and pagodas makes it wonderful tourist attraction. Because of summer heat that reaches daily to 38-39C (100-102F). So it s a bit tricky to do tours and to enjoy city during day. -Suzhou gardens is of course main attraction in this city. Not far from city center. Convenient to visit. It has day and night tours inside. -Pingjiang historical block with gorgeous canals, old historical bridges. You can go on a boat tour (40rmb per person). -Not far from there is Jinji lake, with beautiful promenade, and bunch of restaurants and bars. Who knew we had such a unique and wonderful dog walk right on doorsteps. For a different place to trek around with your little pooch I would highly recommend a walk to the Anchor Church Caves in Derby. It was lovely scenic walk along the canal to this one of a kind monument steeped with such history. We did feel a bit like Indiana Jones having to push ourselves through the bushes (there is an easier route over the fields we discovered on the way back). Great tour in Amsterdam! Very energetic welcome into the brewery with some helpful history to get you started. Fun experience of tasting some beer while on the tour as well as being immersed in how the brewing process is realised, with some fancy 3D video tech. The brewery tour ended with the bar, where we were provided with a couple of tokens for free beer. Atmosphere was like a fun bar on a night out which was great! Our tour also included the Heineken canal tour of the city, which lasted around 45 minutes. Very informative as it was my first ever visit! #beer #canal #tour
