[Japan 🇯🇵] Katsuoji Temple: Where Wishes Come True (and Daruma Dolls Delight!)
🌟Tips:
🌟Take the bus instead of walk up, it looks close on the map but it isn't
🌟Take camera with you, there are so many spots to take nice pic
🌟Can be very hot in the summer
🚗Travel by public transports:
Take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line:
From major stations like Umeda, Namba, or Shin-Osaka, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line (red line) northbound.
Your destination is the final stop: Minoh-Kayano Station (M06). Be sure to check the train's destination display as some trains might terminate earlier at Shin-Osaka or Nakatsu (Source 1.2). The ride takes about 35 minutes from downtown Osaka (Source 1.6).
Get ready to add a truly magical spot to your Japan bucket list: Katsuoji Temple, tucked away in the serene mountains near Osaka. This isn't your average temple visit; it's an experience filled with charm, beauty, and a whole lot of good luck!
The absolute highlight of Katsuoji Temple is its incredible collection of "winning dolls," or daruma. As you explore the grounds, you'll be enchanted by thousands of these adorable, red, round figures. They're everywhere – peeking out from behind trees, lining pathways, and perched on every available surface. Each daruma represents a wish or a goal, and when that wish is granted, the doll is joyfully returned to the temple as a thank you. It creates such a unique and inspiring landscape, a visual testament to countless hopes and dreams coming true!
Beyond the whimsical daruma dolls, the temple itself is breathtaking, especially when the vibrant autumn leaves are ablaze or the delicate cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The main hall offers stunning panoramic views, and the peaceful gardens are perfect for a moment of quiet reflection. Katsuoji Temple is more than just a historical site; it's a heartwarming reminder of perseverance and the power of positive thinking. You absolutely have to see this one-of-a-kind destination for yourself!

Beijing attractions, help for planning to visit them
I visited a few important attractions in Beijing, so I can give you an itinerary and estimated visiting time for each attractions.
It's best to start with attractions where reservations are necessary. I also think it's important to alternate between hard and easy days.
I didn't do it that way and sometimes I didn't even have time to eat properly for days.
So let's see this in a two-column table:
Attraction: estimated visit duration:
Forbidden city / Palace Museum: full day
Summer Palace: full day
Badaling Great Wall: full day
Beihai park + Qianhai lake: full day
Temple of Heaven: 7 hours
Jingshan park: 3-4 hours
Small parks like Tuanjiheu park: 1-2 hours
National Museum of China + Tiananmen square: full day
Important note: At the museum closing time the people are released to the Tiananmen square, so you can visit it without going through again the security or getting appointment to the square.
National Art Museum of China: 3-4 hours
Natural History Museum of China: 5-6 hours
Wangfujing street, walking street and around: 1 hour

Exploring the Stunning Blue Temple, Chiang Rai 💙
One of the highlights of my Chiang Rai trip was definitely visiting Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple. The moment I arrived, I was blown away by the vibrant blue color of the entire temple—it’s so unique and absolutely stunning in person! ✨
The details here are incredible. From the golden accents to the beautiful, modern murals inside, everything feels so fresh and different from the usual temples I’ve seen. I really loved the big white Buddha statue sitting calmly in the middle—it gave me such a peaceful vibe. 🕊️
I went in the morning when it wasn’t too crowded, which was perfect for enjoying the place and snapping lots of photos 📸. The temple isn’t very big, so you can comfortably walk around and explore in about 30–45 minutes.
Don’t forget to dress modestly—shoulders and knees covered. If you forget, they have wraps you can borrow at the entrance. Also, there are cute little stalls outside selling drinks and local snacks, and I had the best butterfly pea ice cream there! 🍦💙
If you’re in Chiang Rai, I totally recommend making a quick stop here. It’s an easy ride from the city and you can even combine it with the White Temple and the Black House for a full day of temple hopping.
Such a beautiful place that’s both photogenic and peaceful. 🌸

Temple Hopping in Chiang Mai: Wat Rajamontean 🇹🇭⛩️
If you're planning to go temple hopping in Chiang Mai, Wat Rajamontean is definitely worth a stop! It’s conveniently located just across the road from Wat Lok Moli 🛕, making it super easy to explore both in one trip.
The temple’s detailed golden carvings ✨, the impressive Naga staircase 🐉, and the grand seated Buddha 🪷 create a stunning scene that’s perfect for photography lovers 📸. The beautiful patterns and architecture really shine in photos, and since it’s usually not too crowded, you can take your time capturing the best angles 📷.
Do note that the temple area is not very spacious compared to some of the bigger temples in Chiang Mai. But that also gives it a more intimate and peaceful vibe 🌿, making it a lovely quick stop during your temple hopping adventure.
I enjoyed walking around, soaking in the calm atmosphere 🌸, and taking plenty of photos to remember this beautiful place. Perfect to combine with nearby temples for a relaxed, photogenic day in the city. ⛩️🐉📸✨

Find Your Truth!
The largest wooden building in Thailand, the Sanctuary of Truth began construction in 1981, and is still under construction today. Every part of the temple is made entirely of hand carved wood and uses an ancient Thai carpenter style.
Inside you will find delicate, hand crafted wooden depictions of the Hindu religious figures and other religious ideology. Since the temple is still under construction, you will have to wear hard hats to enter the building.
A must visit if you're in Pattaya! There's nothing else like the Sanctuary of Truth! It’s a stunning and unique experience that you don’t want to miss!

Tibetan Temple in Mysore, India—Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple
I am so grateful to visit this Tibetan temple in Mysore, India. Being in the Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple, I feel peaceful and tranquil. I get to see a lot of art, painting, and sculpture of Tibetan Buddhism. In this trip, I learn about their daily practice and even meditate with them in the morning.
After meditation and praying, my friend and I went to the restaurant inside the temple. They serve delicious vegetarian food. I also get to taste the traditional Nepali cuisine, called Laphing. They also serve other Indian food like momos.
After lunch, we went to the market beside the temple to buy some local attires, handmade bags, and scarves enveloped with the culture of India.
We really have a nice day here. If you are visiting Mysore and interested in religion, culture, and temples, you definitely have to come here to have an immersive experience of the temple life.

beautiful
Chengdu seemed to be one of those places in china that had several temples, monasteries and a hint of spirituality. We ended up exploring several temples in chengdu. Many of them randomly just because we happend to be near them. But i was glad we visited this one.
It had a very peaceful vibe around it. We also enjoyed walking and window shopping that tourist street. It's got lot of sellers with antique or gemstone types of goods to sell. The local teahouses are a great spot for people watching. All in all this makes for an interesting trip and I would certainly recommend it.

The ambience was worth going here. Such a beautiful and tranquil place; it's free to enter with lots to see and some restaurants inside also. One of the most beautiful places in Chengdu and definitely worth a visit. The surrounding neighborhood is interesting to walk around as well.
Transport is quite easy with the nearest subway line barely 10 minutes on foot. And I have a feeling there are many other acitivities in this area. I saw places with show timings, eateries and plenty of tea houses as we walked to this temple.

Seeking blessings at Xing’an Temple in Batu 11 Cheras
Xing'an Temple is a beautiful Guandi temple in South Cheras Area
The temple is not big, but you can visit the large, golden statue of Guan Gong outside and the Five Tiger Generals behind it. The statue of the deity Guan Di is said to be the tallest statue (of Guan Di) in Selangor
Guandi, is a Chinese god of war is a natural favourite of soldiers but has been chosen patron of numerous trades and professions. This is because Guan Yu, the mortal who became Guandi after death, is said by tradition to have been a peddler of bean curd early in life.
Emperor Huizong of Song, a bumbling ruler but a devoted Taoist, was the first ruler to make Guan Yu a “deity” in the official Taoist canon. The founder of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) later gave him the higher title of “(heavenly) emperor.”
Xing’an is definitely beautifully and colourfully litted up at night and worth a visit if you are in the area!!
There is a also a chinese restaurant- Tien Xia Restaurant, conveniently attached by the left side of the temple and it seem pretty packed so am guessing the food is good
Address - Lot 399, Jalan Balakong, Batu 11 Cheras, 43200 Kajang, Selangor.

Ancient temples and rice paddies in the rain ☔️ 🇻🇳 🛕
Hoi An is also a perfect place to base yourself to explore so much more than the beautiful, but touristic ancient town. It can also be tricky to know what to do in rainy season!
The ancient temples of My Son are only a 45 minute taxi ride away, and are definitely worth a visit. Top tip: we negotiated with our driver to wait for us and return - this was much cheaper than any tour! The temples are easy to explore independently; there is a constant flow of small electric shuttle buses from the entrance to the first temple, but it’s only a 20 minute walk, if like us, you’d rather the exercise! We found them quite atmospheric in the drizzling rain!
Another perfect way to spend a day outside of the ancient town is to put on a poncho, hire bikes (check if your hotel has them for free - many do!) and cycle around the nearby rice paddies and fields. 🚲 🌾These are just a 10 min cycle outside the old town, and you can experience completely different scenery! They are seemingly endless, and quiet, serene, and perfectly calm 🚲

Thailand beautiful temples
Thailand has a lot of great temples and even in Bangkok there are so many remarkable places.
A huge buddha statue was amazing.
There’s a dragon temple outside Bangkok which is worth visiting for sure.
But if you’re using Grab to get there it might be difficult to go back to Bangkok.
No Grab around there and I tried to negotiate with taxi driver but he didn’t wanna go to Bangkok.
Ended up catching a taxi with a couple in the same situation and got back safely in Bangkok.

Angkor Wat on a buget!
#temples #cambodia #siemreap #freeattraction #savemoney #historicallandmarks #angkorwattemple 💰On any given day, the average price per person is $35 to enter the main temple. This grants you access for the whole day, basically. And I'm sure it's totally worth it. The acres and hectars that directly surround Angkor Wat temple were and still are part of it, and you find probably 10+ (I stand to be corrected) smaller temples with the same characteristics and historic cultural accents. You will still have a great experience, and you'll still leave with breathing photos for less than $10 for 3-4 people that will be in a tuk tuk. I would advise you to use one of the tuk tuk drivers from the Angkor Wat area as they would be familiar with where to find these smaller surrounding temples and structures. These were my favorite pics of that day
💞Reasons to Recommend:
1. Cost effective
2. Cultural experience
3. Satisfaction levels acheaved (according to friends of that did both Angkor Wat and surrounding structures
🏖️BAmbiance/Facilities:
1. There are mobile shops in random places in almost every street you turn into, so snacks and cold drinks like filtered water and sodas / juices should be available.

Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is a must-do hiking and trekking trail not to be missed by nature lovers. It is located inside the area of Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peak.
Doi Inthanon is one of the most popular national parks in Thailand. It is famous for its waterfalls, few trails, remote villages, viewpoints, sunrise/sunset watching, birdwatching and the all year round cold weather on higher elevations. The main park entrance is about 70 km southwest from Chiang Mai city center.
This time i want to hike to Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail. Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail itself is a Natural Study trek on Doi Inthanon National Park starts from Km. 42.
The trail sits at 2,200 meters above sea level, just a few hundred meters below Thailand’s highest peak (2,565 meters). Take note that Doi Inthanon National Park is opened all year but Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail is closed from June to October i.e. the raining season.
