This new year is the very new beginning of 2024, I decided to go for a trip to China, Hangzhou to experience the New Year festival at there. We arrived there on 9th Feb, which is New Year Eve, it was very cool below to 9 degrees there at night and the win is strong. Once arrived, the whole airport shop is close for the new year and we couldn’t get any phone cards, even convenient store(don’t have seven eleven) all close down. We don’t have internet, only check in hotel then u can have the internet connection. The very important thing is in China(My first trip to China) , must use 2 very important payments and communication tools is wechat & Zhi Fu Bao. Without this both you are total hard to survive. They have two shopfronts: the Café on the pedestrian promenade nearest to the road, and the hostel reception in the lane behind. To reach West Lake, takes 45 minutes to walk, but there are plenty of taxis. Close at hand are little taverns and shops, a post office and a uni campus. The beauty of this hostel is it sits on the edge of the forested area. While staying here for several days, a friend and I walked along West Lake, watched the beautiful music-choreographed moving light fountain and markets one night, visited the large mountain temple complex and visited tea shops sampling lots of teas.

Many family friends consider Hangzhou to be one of the most livable cities in China, and I would agree. It is easily accessible via high-speed rail, and getting around the city is fairly convenient and affordable. The most famous area is West Lake, where there are numerous walking trails, historic temples, pagodas, monuments, and tea plantations. Don’t miss Lingyin Temple, a massive Buddhist monastery dating back to 328 AD, and Leifeng Pagoda, which dates back to 975 AD and is a key site in the famous Chinese folktale Legend of White Snake. Aside from West Lake, there are also famous markets and museums (I recommend Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine). Your Hangzhou trip won’t be complete without a visit to the Westlake. It was crowded with people as we visited the place during the long weekend. The view of the lake is best at the top of Leifeng Pagoda. There’s an escalator and elevator up to the pagoda for old folks or kids that can’t climb.
