BAGAN AUREUM Palace Hotel resort & spa *****
Address - BAGAN right in the middle of the temples and pagodas. Great location, but clearly not in the city center
Ambiance/Facilities - Really calm cause no tourists, facilities are very beautiful and has a great potential to be a beautiful 5* but maybe needs a little maintenance.
Highlights - Infinity pool over the temples
Avg. Price per Person - at the season we went when Myanmar is still re-opening to tourism 130€/night
Rating - 4/5⭐️
The hotel is really amazing in terms of architecture, design and Location. The infinity pool with breathtaking views over the pagodas is definetly a must. It is not located in the town so taxi or e-bike rental is highly recommended.
The rooms are spacious and pretty clean but would be have expected more attention to detail for a 5* hotel - although the price paid was very accessible.
The diner food options are vaste and qualitative whereas the breakfast have a large selection but no bacon for example that would have much apreciated.
The only thing that we were surprised is the fact that staff speak very little English and the conversation can be very very difficult, when you don’t expect in a 5 star tourism hotel to happen - we stayed in a much lower key hotel in Inle lake and staff where absolutely fluent in English……

Bagan, Myanmar - Beautiful holiday cabin in the ancient city: Bagan Thande Hotel
#poolhotel #bathhotel #100 ways to travel
#BaganThandeHotel is located on the banks of the #Irrawaddy River. In the old city of #BaganKingdom, it is a wooden holiday house built by the water. There is a huge old tree in the outdoor dining area, with the sun shining between the branches and leaves, and the light and shadow changing. Thousands of them, set against the scenery of rivers and mountains, are so beautiful that people can’t help but marvel!
The rooms at Bagan Thade Hotel are similar to holiday cabins, with beautiful outdoor swimming pools, turf green spaces, and beautifully maintained gardens. Stay here for one night and you can feel the different atmospheres during the day and night, especially dining under the trees. It's a great treat.
The house price is surprisingly cheap. The most basic room type is 8 square meters in size, has a bathtub bathroom, and a double bed including breakfast for only $1,500 per night. The CP value is very high! In fact, accommodation in Bagan is very cheap. You can choose a resort you like to stay for a few nights and relax.

Iconic and Stunning temple in Bagan, Myanmar
#temples
Trip to Myanmar isn't complete if you don't visit Bagan, a small and historical city in central Myanmar. It is also renowned as a sea of temples and it is one of the world's greatest archeological sites. So, you will see a bunch of temples whenever you go around Bagan.

Bagan, Myanmar - Sunset along the Irrawaddy River: Aye Yar River View Resort
The sunset in the #Ayeyarwady River in the geography textbook turns out to be so beautiful. Aye Yar River View Resort is located on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River, with natural beauty, green land and blue sky, and Nanyang tropical-style resort architecture, which is very chill.
On New Year's Eve of 2017, I visited #BaganKingdom in Myanmar and stayed at the second hotel in the ancient city of #Bagan. The resort's room type is a two-story villa building with simple earth tones, giving it a vibe of the dusty ancient city. The atrium is landscaped with a swimming pool, and the lights turn on at night to create a particularly atmospheric atmosphere.
The overall environment of the Resort is quite comfortable, the beds are good, and the air-conditioning is cool. However, it is a rural outback after all, and many details are not so thoughtful. However, the outdoor swimming pool, bar, and Burmese restaurant are still indispensable.
The ancient city of Bagan is known as the City of Ten Thousand Pagodas. The sunrise and sunset scenery here are world-famous. Whether it is at the pagoda or the Irrawaddy River, you can enjoy the amazing golden glow. It is extremely beautiful!

Bagan - Land of thousands of pagodas
Pagoda hopping in Bagan was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget! There are around 2000 temples and pagodas in this city. I can’t describe how magical, peaceful and beautiful this place is, you have to come and see it yourself. Unfortunately the time I visited was in low season, so didn’t get to see the view with hot air balloons. But I luckily met a local guy guiding me around to find the climbable pagodas to enjoy sunset and sunrise❤️ #bagan #myanmar #solotravel
Lost in bagan
LOST IN BAGAN
Bagan appears before you will be an ancient, long-standing city of Bagan with clusters of ancient temples and pagodas that have been stained with time....Wake up at 5am to climb to the top of a tower in Old Bagan in time to welcome the sunrise and see the hot air balloons released far away covering a hill,...to freely wander into the reeds, sit under a tree and watch the sunset....Maybe Bagan is only suitable for those who love sadness, the wildness and also for those who like to live slowly? Or simply, there are times when you really need it - times when you don't want to do anything, just sit there - watch and watch time pass by.....so peaceful, so gentle....#awesomepic #naturalwonders #trip #bagan
Temples in Myanmar

i can really say that this trip was the most memorable. i went to myanmar last 2019 because i got curious whenever my colleagues will talk about the country. i was nervous to travel in this place at first but when i got there, i felt so comfortable. the people are so kind and charming. food and transportation are cheap! tourist spots/temples are not crowded. i love temples and masjids so thats the main reason why i went here. i have a complete and detailed itinerary. ❤️ i will visit Myanmar again soon.

Visit Bagan in your life time!
2 years ago I had a chance to do a train trip from Mandalay to Bagan. It was amazing and beautiful. This ancient city is just well preserved and worth to visit in your life time. If Cambodia has Ankor Wat , Myanmar has this amazing Bagan. 📌 Put in your list after Covid!

Shwe Zigon Pagoda of Ancient Bagan
#newyearnewtrip #myanmar #bagan
Shwe Zigon Pagoda is one of Bagan’s most popular pagoda. In local tradition, there are 4 Pagodas and if you visit them on the same day, you get blessings. (it’s not as easy as it sounds because for one, you have to cross the ayerwaddy river and hike a mountain)
Regardless, this pagoda was built by the founder of the Bagan empire itself and the work was continued by the next king of the Empire. The Pagoda truly has a lot of wonders, it is thought to enshrine Buddha’s tooth and bone also.
I wish I could write more about this but I am unfortunately not as well versed. However, there are local children there that would love to explain the history and culture to you in your language (they know a lot) for a price as low as $3. I would love for you to support them as this is how they make their livelihood, they also take great photographs!
My family and I presented some offerings (2nd pic) and prayed for a while.
The Ancient City of Bagan
#newyearnewtrip #bagan #myanmar
Old Bagan is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in central Myanmar, specifically the Mandalay Division.
It was built by the kings of the Bagan Empire from centuries ago and is highly visited by many tourists for its unique pagodas and culture.
My family loves to visit Bagan as they are buddhists. I have been to Bagan many times, whether with my family or on school trips. For Hotels, I recommend the ones in New Bagan as they are much newer and less scarier haha. Some say hotels in Old Bagan might be haunted.
There really are endless things to learn there. Especially from the locals where they make a living from tourism.
The traditional Burmese food there is also great, it is highly recommended as they are very affordable also.
Make sure the find a spot to watch the sunset as it is truly magical to experience it there. You can also watch the sunrise from hot air balloons for just ~120 USD too!
If you wanna travel right now, please do check with local tourism agencies first to see if it’s safe to go or not first as Myanmar’s situation is complicated.
Happy Travels ~
The Ancient City - Bagan, Myanmar
#newyearnewtrip #myanmar #bagan
I’m sure some of you all might have heard of Bagan, especially if you’re Buddhists 🥰.
It is renowned as an ancient city and considered a world heritage. I haven’t been able to witness the city from hot air balloons but it is definitely on my wish list to try out someday.
It’d be nice if you gave a chance to some of the local kids to let them explain the history to you even if their pronunciation might not be the best. Even just a $1 pocket money to them helps a lot as Myanmar is going through a hard time. These kids barely get any education but do their best to learn the history in English for their livelihoods.
PS. you can also ask them to braid your hair like mine!

Maha Bodhi Temple 🇲🇲
#photolocation
The Mahabodhi pagoda within the city walls of old Bagan is a monument in a style that is unique to Bagan in Myanmar 🇲🇲 . The pagoda was build to resemble the Mahabodhi temple in India 🇮🇳.
The pagoda was built by King Nataungmya in 1215 AD and modelled after the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, India, the place where the Buddha attained supreme enlightenment some 25 centuries ago.
The lower structure was erected as a square block neither low nor high and above it is the square pyramidal shape tower. The Buddha image inside the Mahabodhi Temple is known as the restoration model after the earthquake disaster. One can see a ladder to go up and the mural plaques on the east wall of the upper arch gate.
People can visit the Mahabodhi Pagoda in the Bagan-NyaungU Ancient Cultural Zone of old Bagan and explore the architectural works of Buddha images, Inwa-era mural plaques and the structure of the pagoda, according to the Mahabodhi Pagoda Trustees Board.
