Visiting Medina has been one of the most peaceful and spiritual experiences of my life. The calm atmosphere, the kindness of the people, and the serenity of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi make this city truly unique. Praying in the Rawdah, walking through the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque, and visiting the historic sites like Quba Mosque and Uhud Mountain filled me with peace and gratitude. Locals say "Madina" or "Makkah" in Arabic pronunciation to get the point across👌~🕵️The hottest points of Medina✨~ ①Until a few years ago, non-Muslims couldn't even land there! It's a sacred place. But the fact that non-Muslim tourists can now enter is a historic event, so I'm happy to be able to land there while I'm still alive☺️ ※Non-Muslims still can't go to Mecca. Women will be warned by security guards and ordinary people (!) if they don't wrap their heads tightly when outdoors🧕←This! When in Rome, do as the Romans do and respect the culture of the other country. ②The sunshade umbrellas were made by a company in Osaka! 🇯🇵 Apparently, they were made by a company called Taiyo Kogyo in Osaka upon receiving an order. As the evening approaches, the umbrellas gradually close. I'm proud that Japanese craftsmanship is helping so many Muslims! But non-Muslims can't enter the Prophet's Mosque (the security is strict, and you'll be kicked out immediately if you're seen as an East Asian person.), so let's look at it from the outside! *All photos were taken from outside the gate. ③The hotel is tourist-friendly. The people at both the Taiba Hotel where we stayed and the Hilton Hotel where we had lunch were very kind to us. 😌🫶 Is it because there aren't many tourists yet? Or because Japanese people are rare? ? I don't know if it's because of that, but They came over every few minutes (seriously) to ask "Is there anything we can do to help?" I went there at sunset, so I could see the mystical and wonderful view. My favorite part was the pool. It is excellently designed and has a relaxing atmosphere. Note that there are separate times for men and women to enter. Getting There - You can choose to take a taxi or now there are fast haramain trains available too. Attractions - Haram sharif, Holy Kaaba, Ziyarat to all the historic places such as where the Quran was revealed, where Hazrat Adam AS and Hawa AS met for the first time after coming down from Jannah, stories of why we have to sacrifice an animal (spot where the prophet Ibrahim AS was tested and ram came in its place), Safa Marwa etc. Hotels - so many hotels nearby, we stayed in double tree Hilton Jabal Omar. Excellent customer service and various breakfast options. Food & Restaurants - So many branches of Al Baik nearby, Al Tajaz, KFC, pizza shops and other cuisines such as Indian, Pakistani and Chinese. There are numerous stalls too and popular ice cream shops such as Baskin Robbins. Dessert shops such as Dunkin’ Doughnuts. It's perfect for a coffee break or catching up with friends. I decided to try their croissant donut and a cup of coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. The donut was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. Makkah: My First Umrah Experience In October 2024, I had the profound blessing of visiting Makkah for the first time to perform Umrah. It was a deeply spiritual journey, filled with awe, gratitude, and tranquility. As I entered the holy city, I was struck by the breathtaking sight of the Kaaba in Masjid al-Haram. Its majestic presence immediately filled my heart with humility and a sense of closeness to Allah. The rituals of Umrah—beginning with donning the Ihram, performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, and completing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah—were acts of worship I had longed to experience. Each step carried a deep spiritual significance, and the sheer magnitude of being surrounded by thousands of fellow Muslims from across the globe was profoundly moving. Despite the crowds, there was an extraordinary sense of unity, as if we were all bound by a shared purpose and devotion. Beyond the rituals, my time in Makkah was filled with reflection and prayer. Standing in front of the Kaaba during salah and listening to the melodious call to prayer was a surreal experience that words fail to capture. The streets of Makkah, alive with pilgrims and vendors offering dates, zamzam water, and prayer beads, added a unique charm to the journey. What made this trip even more special was the peace I felt. In Makkah, everything seemed to slow down, allowing me to focus on my relationship with Allah and my personal growth. Leaving the holy city was bittersweet, but I carried its blessings and lessons with me. Makkah will always hold a special place in my heart, not just for its spiritual significance but for the beautiful memories of my first Umrah.
