Lake Como: More Than Just a Day Trip – A Magical Overnight Stay! 🇮🇹✨
#summervacay
I kept seeing Lake Como pop up on my feed, and since my itinerary had me in Milan anyway, I thought I'd pop over. After realizing each little town had its own unique charm, I decided to slow down and stay a night. Best decision ever!
Varenna: The Convenient Gateway
Varenna is super convenient, with frequent trains from Milan, making it the easiest entry point to the Lake Como area. Naturally, it's quite popular with tourists, and yes, the ferry queue at the pier was definitely long.
The lakeside is dotted with stunning villas, many of them belonging to famous adventurers of the past. I didn't get to see the famous wisteria-covered gate that's so popular with influencers, as it wasn't the right season. However, I opted to visit Villa Monastero (which cost €12), and it was lovely! Full of tropical plants, it felt like a delightful lakeside excursion.
Bellagio: My Evening Retreat
I chose Bellagio for my overnight stay, arriving by ferry in the afternoon to avoid the peak crowds. I found a lakeside restaurant and just quietly watched the intense summer sun soften into a gentle glow. As evening set in, this usually bustling, commercial town grew wonderfully quiet, with only people leisurely sipping drinks outdoors. I even passed a charming little house that looked straight out of a witch's tale – so cute!

🍋☀️ Lake Como: Every Moment Shines with Lemon-Scented Sunshine!
#summervacay
Lake Como isn't just beautiful, it's a sensory delight! Every single moment spent here, bathed in the sunshine, feels absolutely radiant and sparkles with a unique charm. The air itself seems to carry the fresh, invigorating scent of lemons, making every breath a refreshing experience.
It’s truly a place where the light catches every ripple on the water and every leaf on the hillsides, creating a vivid, unforgettable glow.

🌟🇮🇹 Passalacqua: World's #1 Hotel – A Breathtaking Secret on Lake Como!
#summervacay
I've just experienced pure bliss at Passalacqua, officially crowned "The World's 50 Best Hotels" #1! Seriously, this place is so stunning it'll take your breath away. 🤩
It's a true hidden gem on Lake Como, where you get to stay inside an 18th-century noble villa. This was easily the most divine hotel of my Lake Como trip! Opening the window to reveal the sapphire blue of the lake, you can practically smell money in the air – it's that luxurious! ✨
A Century-Old Villa Holding Time's Secrets:
Imagine: the same balcony Napoleon once stood on, and a rose garden where Churchill strolled... every single brick and tile here whispers legendary tales. The antique mirrors in the rooms reflect the lake's shimmering light, making you feel like you've stepped right into a European oil painting. It's utterly magical! 🖼️
A Fairytale Dream in the Gardens:
Wander from a sea of hydrangeas to ancient cedar trees, and then turn a corner to discover fragrant lemon trees. In the afternoon, you can lounge on a chair, sipping afternoon tea and watching boats glide across the lake. This kind of blissful, heavenly life? You could live it forever and never get tired! 🍋🥂

Como Lake in Italy! A precious gem
Como Lake 🇮🇹, who doesn’t know it?
Well, I have to admit, being Italian and growing up in Rome, I have probably neglected the rest of my own country for many years. I too often travelled overseas looking for new adventures when lots of beauty is still here to be discovered.
Well, Como Lake hit me back hard! It made me appreciate the Northern part of Italy that I often skipped 😅
It is beautiful 🤩 absolutely astonishing. No other words.
Driving on those super narrow roads was fun, visiting Bellagio and its nice ‘salite’ (little alleys, often going up), the cafes (that we call ‘Bars’ in Italy), the restaurants and just the simple atmosphere was so serene, so calming.
In brief, the so called ‘golden triangle’ of #bellagio , #varenna and #menaggio, is something anyone should do when visiting (you should take the ferry to visit the three towns). I got to see only the first two in this occasion. I like Bellagio a lot but I have to admit I may have found Varenna to be even a little prettier. The first few shots in this post are taken during my visit of villa monastero. The villa is wonderful and the entrance fee includes the botanic gardens and the villa museum. Really nice visit indeed.
The lake itself is big and you can visit lots of other places. I also liked the little fisherman village of #pescallo close to Bellagio and the town of #lecco. Miserably I didn’t get the change to visit the city of #como this time but together with Menaggio, it will be my excuse to come back again and maybe this time take the ferry around instead of driving.
Love you #lakecomo ❤️ bye for now 🫶🏻
รีวิว Lake Como – เสน่ห์ที่เกินคำบรรยายในอิตาลี🇮🇹
#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
If there is a place that makes us quiet because of its beauty... it must be Lake Como 🇮🇹 A small town surrounded by mountains, a clear blue lake and pastel-colored houses lined up along the hills. This is not just a destination, but an experience that is gentle, sweet and extremely romantic. 👩🏼❤️💋👨🏽💓📍Don't miss the highlights: • Take a walk along the lake in the morning. The cool breeze and the aroma of coffee from a small shop are simple but powerful. • Take a boat trip to see the view around the lake. The villa-style houses of the rich look luxurious but not show off. • Try authentic Italian homemade gelato. Embrace the hot atmosphere by the lake • Visit Villa del Balbianello, so beautiful that it has been used in many movies, including Star Wars and James Bond. • Take a walk in Bellagio, a town known as the “pearl of Lake Como”. The steep cobblestone streets and local shops give a very warm feel. • The lush, shady and peaceful Villa Melzi gardens can hear your own thoughts. 🚞 Getting there: From Milan, it’s only about an hour’s train ride to Como, the main city by the lake. You can then take a boat to various villages such as Bellagio, Varenna, and Menaggio. Each has its own charm, like falling into a postcard every time you turn your camera to take a picture. Lake Como is not just a place… but a feeling, a sense of letting your mind drift with the wind, slowing down life to see the beauty in simplicity and knowing that… sometimes “just being still” amidst beautiful views is happiness enough…🤍#Italy #lakecomo #Trend #TravelEurope #italytrip

[Italy] Lake Como, a resort destination for adults 🇮🇹
The place that made me realize that European resorts are wonderful was the Italian resort Lake Como 🇮🇹
Lake Como is in the north of Italy, so I flew to Milan from Japan ✈️
There was a train to get there from Milan, but my suitcase was big, so I took an Uber from Milan to Lake Como 🚖
When I actually went to the Lake Como area, it seemed like a lot of Europeans came by car, so I was glad that I could drive directly to the hotel 🤭 (But it was quite expensive, so it might be better to set aside some money for transportation during your trip ✌️)
Lake What I liked about Como was that it had a very calm and mature atmosphere♥️
It was a place surrounded by mountains and lakes, and spending a relaxing and quiet time at a luxury hotel was very luxurious
Please check out the atmosphere of this area

Unforgettable Hospitality: A Warm Welcome at a 17th-Century Monastery B&B in Como
#hospitality #100waysoftravel #italytrip #como #accomodation #lakecomo
Our stay at a charming B&B Convento S. Antonio in Como left us with fond memories, thanks to its warm hospitality and unique setting. The B&B is housed in a stunning 17th-century monastery, with beautifully preserved wall and ceiling sculptures that left us in awe. We adored our cozy loft-style room, which added to the experience. The owner was incredibly helpful and full of humor—when we realized Italy uses different plugs from other European countries, he kindly lent us adaptors from his kitchen. He even provided a detailed map, marked with recommended restaurants and must-see attractions. Breakfast was a highlight, served buffet-style at a large communal table, and we were lucky to visit during peach season, enjoying a variety of sweet and juicy peaches.
Golden Horizons: A Sunset to Remember at Lake Como
#bestsunset #100waysoftravel #italy_views #italy #lakecomo#como #Brunate
During our visit to Lake Como, we had the chance to ride the Como-Brunate funicular, and we couldn’t have timed it better—we were lucky enough to witness the most breathtaking sunset from the top of Brunate. The panoramic view was nothing short of spectacular, with the golden light casting a warm glow over the shimmering lake and the rugged mountains surrounding it. As the sun slowly dipped behind the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and red, the entire landscape seemed to glow with an ethereal beauty. It was a magical, unforgettable moment that perfectly crowned our day of exploring the natural wonders of Lake Como.

Lake Como is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, with its stunning scenery and charming little towns scattered around the lake. Surrounded by mountains and full of Italian charm, it’s a place where you can really unwind. We made sure to visit Bellagio, Menaggio, and Varenna—must-see towns that each have their own unique vibe. Instead of driving, we took ferries between the towns, which gave us amazing views of the colorful villages along the lake. We loved strolling through the peaceful streets, stopping for lunch and dinner at cozy Italian restaurants, and of course, enjoying plenty of gelato. The whole experience was just magical and the perfect escape for couples.
Feeding Swans with a Local: A Unique Lake Como Experience
#animalcontact #100waysoftravel #swan #como #lakecomo #italy
One of the best parts of my Lake Como trip was joining a local uncle by the lake to feed the swans. It was such a serene and unexpected experience, watching these elegant birds glide across the water as we tossed food to them. The uncle, clearly familiar with the swans, took it to the next level by using his mouth to feed them, a sight that left me both amazed and amused. The gentle interaction between him and the swans was heartwarming, and it added a unique charm to the already picturesque surroundings of Lake Como. This simple yet memorable moment truly made my trip special.

Must-Visit Villas at Lake Como: Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero
Visiting Lake Como is not complete without touring these two villas: Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero. Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi are must-see attractions when visiting Varenna at Lake Como, Italy. The beauty of their architecture left me in awe, and the breathtaking scenery made me feel like I was in another world. Their botanical gardens facing Lake Como made me feel like I had stepped into a stunning landscape painting. The picturesque views were so beautiful they seemed unreal.
At Villa Cipressi, you must visit the Gates of Heaven. The name speaks for itself - the wrought iron gate opening towards the shimmering sky and lake is one of the most enchanting sights I have ever seen.
At Villa Monastero, you can immerse yourself in the dreamy Renaissance-style architecture; of course, you must visit their botanical garden, which features many unique plants.
As for ticket prices, you can purchase a combo ticket for 19 euros to visit both villas, or a single villa ticket for 10 euros.
🇮🇹 Best place to stay in Bellagio, Lake Como
#italytrip
While many might be tempted to stay by the lake, I wanted to recommend this hidden gem just a few minutes away from the city centre!
⛰️Reason 1: You get a whole different perspective - the hotel is located on top of a mountain, which means you get a unique bird eye view of the beautiful town by the lake! We find this to be the best view we have had on our trip to Lake Como!
🚙 Reason 2: You get to avoid the crowds for your stay and it is actually very convenient to get to the busy area to check out the city too when you feel like it! The hotel has a shuttle that take you to the city centre and back, the whole journey cost 5 Euro and 10 minutes, and the hotel is able to organise shuttle services for you very efficiently!
💵 Reason 3: Great value for money and thoughtful hotel services - living slightly outside of the tourist hotspots also mesns you get more value as the staffs are more able to take good care of you due to lower crowd plus the rate is really good for what you get! They even have dedicated tour manager to help organise any activities that you would be interested in exploring!

Good morning from Lake Como 🇮🇹
#lakes
Spending a day at Lake Como this summer was like stepping into a postcard! The lake’s beauty is truly something you have to see to believe. We started our day in the charming town of Bellagio, often called the “Pearl of Lake Como.” The ferry ride to Bellagio cost about €10, and the views from the water were breathtaking, with the Alps in the background and elegant villas lining the shores.
Once in Bellagio, we wandered through the narrow cobblestone streets, filled with boutiques and cafes. We visited the stunning Villa Melzi Gardens, where the entrance fee was €6. The gardens were incredibly peaceful, with lush greenery and statues overlooking the lake.
Afterward, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at a lakeside restaurant, savoring the local cuisine while soaking in the view. The day ended with a relaxing walk along the lakefront, watching the sunset over the water. Lake Como’s combination of natural beauty, charming towns, and serene atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. 🌊🏞️ #trip #LakeComo #ItalianLakes #Bellagio #ScenicViews #TravelItaly
Lake como's Hidden gem
#myhiddengems
Italy is my favourite summer destination in Europe. And no traveller obsessed with Italy could miss out on Lake como. A place that needs no convincing. Everyone's seen the stunning pics, the wedding setting, the celebrity villa's and so much more with context to Lake como on social media.
With so many small towns by the lake como. One has to pick a spot, at least in my case that's a bit of a hidden gem, affordable and offers all the charm that lake como is all about. My pick was the Varenna, a personal favourite and probably amongst the most beautiful towns by Lake como.
Where the town of como lacks in the historical element, Varenna gives you it's museums and historical sights as an added offering to the most picturesque lake como views. That's not all, I have seen some of the most magnificent villas with well illustrated gardens. The walks here had such an underlying theme of nature and history.
A lot of people I met here were even on short day trips because they'd rather spend their limited day of off here than elsewhere. Afterall you are merely an hour's train ride from Milan and a quick ferry ride from other towns like tremezzina. Allowing thos tk be clubbed with your plans there. Without giving too much away and without causing too many tourists here, I still give you this hidden gem of a summer in Europe. #myhiddengems #summerineurope #lake como #100waysoftravel #singapore #laitalia
Lake Como ครั้งแรก!
Went to a close friend's wedding at Lake Como, so took the opportunity to travel there. The weather was nice, not as hot as back home. Plus, the view was beautiful. The atmosphere was amazing. I saw the mountains, the lake, and the colorful houses. It felt like I had stepped into a postcard. I took a walk along the lake, enjoyed the view, and stopped for a coffee and a refreshing gelato.
I had the chance to take a boat to see the lake view. The view was beautiful. I could see the towns around the lake. The houses and lifestyle of the people here were so lovely.
The food was delicious everywhere. Italy is truly a foodie's paradise. Pizza, pasta, gelato, and wine were all delicious and the prices were not expensive. I was very impressed. 💕🇮🇹
If I have the chance, I will definitely go back. Next time, I will explore other towns around the lake. 😊 I want to go to Menaggio, I heard it is very beautiful.
The transportation is also convenient. You can take a train from Milan, it takes about 1 hour, or you can rent a car. The view along the way is very beautiful.
Lake Como is a very beautiful and romantic place. It is perfect for relaxation and honeymoon. If anyone has the chance to visit Italy, don't forget to visit Lake Como. 😊

Staying at Villa Belvedere is a perfect choice for its stunning views and comfort. I woke up to amazing view of Lake Como right out of the window of hotel.
A day in Argegno:
☕️ Breakfast at Café Motto- We chose to begin our day with a delicious breakfast at Café Motto, enjoying a cappuccino paired with freshly baked pastries or a light Italian breakfast amidst the café's cozy ambiance. 🥖
☀️ Explore Argegno's Historic Center-After breakfast, we took a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets of Argegno's historic center. Marvel at the quaint houses, the beautiful Church of Sant’Anna, and the Roman Bridge that adds to the town's ancient charm.
🍝 Lunch with a View-For lunch, we ate at a random restaurant at Argegno that offers a terrace with lake views. There were many restaurants there. Indulge in local specialties such as fresh fish from the lake, risotto, or a classic 🍕 refuel us to continue our journey.
🩵Relax by the Waterfront- we spent the late afternoon relaxing at one of Argegno’s lidos and enjoyed a gelato by the waterfront, soaking up the serene atmosphere of the lake.
🥣 Dinner in Argegno- We had our dinner at Hotel Argegno in house restaurant. After dinner, we took a leisurely walk along the lakefront promenade. The calm waters, illuminated by the soft lights from the town and the stars above, created a magical end to our day in Argegno.
🎇 LAST BUT NOT LEAST the highlight goes to the fireworks 🎆💫🧡🧨 We are so lucky to witness the firework at Bar Motta. The 2023 countdown fireworks were truly spectacular! Bright colors exploded in the night sky, marking the new year with a dazzling show. Lasting just the right amount of time, it was a perfect celebration to welcome 2023. Truly memorable!
2023 ended with a blast in Lake Como. I’ll always remember this day.

Lake Como summer holiday !
Lake Como is a Lake surrounded by different little towns in Italy ! It’s absolutely gorgeous and attracts tons of European tourist every summer! Rumor has it actor George Cluney has a summer home and many run into him there! The pictures don’t do the lake any justice. However, it seems a bit romantic and the days are very slow and relaxed. The lake IS the main attraction. I would save this for a romantic getaway instead of a solo or friends trip. I stayed Bellagio but any smaller town would be ok or even Como city. #lakecomo #italy #boatride
Winter on the Water 🚤
First time around Lake Como and I completely fell in love! We stayed at the Palace Hotel at Lake Como and it was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The interior is beautiful just like it’s name and the breakfast spread is scrumptious 😋
The ferry dock is right across the doors of the hotel, which was extra convenient for our day trip around the towns. We took the slow ferry ride and sat outside despite the cold. But the views of other towns and even the alps and mountains were breathtaking. Headed to the very beautiful very scenic Bellagio - where we climbed up the steps and had a hearty meal at Nando. Afterwards took a quick ride to Varenna to catch the sunset. Absolutely wonderful!
Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy the beach and visit other picturesque towns! #freehotelstay #Italy #como #lakecomo #bellagio #varenna

Wow wow wow! Lake Como is such a dreamy place that exceeds expectations. It is a destination with a pure beauty, a marvelous nature and breath-taking views. Every spot is so pleasing to eyes where I can walk, relax, discover the peace and enjoy the calm of an holiday. The cute little shops, small alley and the chilled vibes are so enjoyable. Sipping a cup of hot coffee, overlooking at the peaceful lake water, pondering about life, I think that’s the ultimate goal of travelling. #italy #lakecomo #explorer #timetotravel
