Golden Grandeur and Thai History at its Finest 🕌✨🌿
#ancientbuildings
Visiting The Grand Palace in Bangkok is like stepping into the pages of Thai history — a place where every wall, spire, and courtyard seems to glow with stories and centuries of royal legacy. Even in the heat and the crowds, it’s impossible not to be awed by the sheer scale and detail of it all.
Built in 1782 when Bangkok became the capital of Siam, the Grand Palace was the official residence of the Thai Kings for over 150 years. Though the current monarch no longer lives here, the palace remains a deeply symbolic and spiritual heart of the country.
Walking through the complex feels like a journey through time and tradition. The jewel of it all is Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha — Thailand’s most sacred religious site. The statue itself is small but revered, carved from a single block of jade and dressed in seasonal robes that are changed by the King himself.
From the dazzling gold leaf walls to the intricate mosaics and guardian statues, everything is built to impress — and it does. Every inch is bursting with colour, craftsmanship, and symbolism.
A few tips: dress respectfully (covered shoulders and knees are a must), go early to beat the crowds and heat, and take your time — there’s so much to absorb. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or simply love seeing a country’s culture come to life, the Grand Palace is an unmissable Bangkok highlight.

🇮🇳 India Gate – A Timeless Tribute in the Heart of Delhi 🌆
india Gate stands tall as a majestic war memorial in New Delhi, honoring the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. Its grand architecture, inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, is both powerful and elegant.

🌟 Lit Up by Night: The monument looks stunning when illuminated after sunset – a sight that captivates both locals and tourists.

Mumbai CST Railway Station Review 🏛️🚉
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), formerly known as Victoria Terminus, is one of Mumbai’s most iconic landmarks. This historic railway station is a stunning blend of Victorian Gothic and Indian architecture, with intricate stone carvings, stained glass windows, and towering spires that make it feel more like a palace or cathedral than a transport hub.
Inside, the atmosphere is both grand and chaotic. The soaring ceilings, arches, and detailed interiors showcase its rich heritage, while the hustle and bustle reflect the vibrant life of Mumbai. It serves as a major hub for both local and long-distance trains, making it one of the busiest stations in India.
While the architecture is breathtaking—especially when lit up at night—be prepared for crowds, especially during rush hours. The station can get extremely packed, and navigating through can be overwhelming for first-time visitors. Cleanliness varies by area; some parts are well-maintained, while others can be less tidy.
Facilities include restrooms, dormitories, ticket counters, and food stalls selling local snacks like vada pav. There's also a small heritage gallery that gives insight into the station's history, perfect for those interested in the cultural side.
Overall, Mumbai CST is a must-visit for its architectural beauty and historical value. It’s a true symbol of Mumbai—chaotic, energetic, yet deeply rooted in culture. ✨🏙️🚆

It’s the Architecture for me!
I got so lost in the beauty and adventure of this place that the gift shop closed before I could get something!
高景山 (Gaojingshan) is a scenic area in a part of Suzhou. In my journey to spread less mainstream places this is another one that takes the cake!
A little different from the art district I visited in Shanghai, this place has gorgeous traditional Chinese architecture! As an Architect, I was so in awe from the built environment! Everything feels so surreal with buildings hanging from the side to hidden caves with Buddhist statues. Although it’s winter time, this place had beautiful warm sun covering the top of the mountain. My Boyfriend and I had the most lovely apple break!
On our decent, we found a beautiful cafe sandwiched between Buddhist statue caves and although it didn’t serve food, the service was immaculate! It’s also a library so there are books all around! There was also a display of on of the most interesting exhibition I’ve ever seen! (No spoilers) it was very simple but impactful! We had a chance to get toured around (my boyfriend is super good at Chinese so it was a breeze lol) and we had our delicious coffee surrounded by wall to floor books of all kinds! Definitely a reader’s paradise.
The architectural complexity, religious essence, and overall beauty of 高景山 was a sight to behold and well worth the day trip! I hope all my Architects, Artists, Bookworms, and Religious folk can make it here someday! #suzhou #explorer #holeinthewall

Have you ever wondered how it feels to be inside a magical bookshop? Chongqing is home to one of the Zhongshuge bookstores that really do feel like wandering into Hogwarts.
The Zhongshuge Bookstore in Chongqing, China, is a visually stunning and highly acclaimed bookstore known for its unique and innovative interior design. Located in the Zodi Plaza in Chongqing’s Jiulongpo district, this bookstore is a part of the Zhongshuge chain, which is famous for transforming bookstores into immersive, artistic spaces.
Design Concept: The bookstore’s design is inspired by the mountainous landscape of Chongqing, with winding staircases, mirrored ceilings, and maze-like bookshelves that create a surreal and infinite visual effect. The use of mirrors and reflective surfaces amplifies the space, making it feel like an endless labyrinth of books.

Beyond Just hilltop villages
I had the most splendid 5 nights in the region of Luberon. And those who think these are just a bunch of hilltop villages, let me tell you there is a lot more to them that deserves your attention. Each of these villages have their own charm and heritage to offer. You could choose a base for yourself depending on where you're coming from and what suits your budget. There are plenty of options. And then with each day you could have day trips to different villages, see the sights, explore food and night life.
You're looking at the villages of Gordes, the most famous of them with stunning views. Rousillon, which was our base. And basically it is a picturesque village where the facades of the houses are adorned with warm colors ranging from yellow to red. Stroll through its colorful.
In Loumarin, you could admire its Renaissance castle and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the cafes and restaurants on the terrace. Then there is the castle of the Marquis de Sade, in the village of Lacoste. Great medieval atmosphere and discover the small artisan shops. Lastly, the most beautiful of them all Oppede le vieux. It is simply spectacular. #myhiddengems #summerdestinations #france #luberon #100waysoftravel #europe #hilltop #villages #explorer #singapore

An assortment of spectacular
#myhiddengems
A trip to the isle of skye has many things in it. From medieval castles, picturesque village, jagged mountains to a distillery and bridges. It has garnered a reputation ove the years and that is why it features on many must do lists when visiting scotland. A country that already features on my top 3 accents of the world list.
Irrespective of the weather or if you are doing it on a day or two of organised tours. The sights are going to be spectacular. Also for the nature and outdoor enthusiasts there are some very nice hiking opportunities here. Atleast the ones I managed to do, the likes of Quirang and Old man of the storr. were absolutely rewarding with views and surprisingly also a decent amount of wild life. More famously the funny/cute looking hairy coos, the sea eagles and red deer.
For those with a strong visual memory will also realise or have that feeling of seen it somewhere. The thing being that this place has been a filming site for many epic movies in the last few decades. And it makes sense as they fit the setting of those movies. Moving on, the magical fairy Glen can be found on the West side of Trotternish at Balnacnoc, Uig. One of Skye’s most famous attractions, are the Fairy Pools. They are a series of pools with crystal clear water. Surrounded by the Cuillin Mountains by Glenbrittle, this stunning spot is definitely worth visiting.
A personal favourite of mine is the Neiste point. Probably the best spot for sunset or even dolphin watching as some people pointed out when I was there. Then there are several more points of interest depending on how much time you have. You could always end your day by relaxing over drinks in a nice and quirky Scottish pub. Their music is so fun.#myhiddengems #scotland #isleofskye #100waysoftravel #summerdestinations #beautiful #solotrip #explorer
Visiting a well preserved medieval city
#myhiddengems
Bamberg is a beautiful Bavarian city and what made me pick it is that it is comparatively lesser known. While at our hostel in Nuremberg, the three or us tried to figure out options for daytrips. It seemed that Bamberg wasn't a part of many people's itinerary. And the reason was merely a lack of mention. This is thought would be a good reason to head there. I always prefer places with less tourist and architecture especially in context to Germany has mostly been satisfying.
So we left for Bamberg. We didn’t have much of a plan for our visit to Bamberg and simply began to wander. We easily found the Old Town Hall, spanning the Regnitz River. The historic town is compact and that makes it walkable to reach most places of tourist interest. Strolling down by the river we had our first architectural sighting of St. Stephen's church. Walking further got us to a place with several buses making a stop. These were the notorious tour buses.
Focusing on the sights we kept walking. Soon enough the old court appeared. Again the architecture was very interesting. This followed a trip the museum which was nice. Next we had a glimpse of the shlenkerla tavern. It is a brewery that serves the local speciality of smoked beer is the age old traditional manner. (from the wooden barrel). Looking at how crowded it seemed. we just continued walking. The rest of the day trip included several old architectural gems and heritage like little venice and then we were on our way back to the train station.

It is located at 119, Khao Rup Chang, Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla 90000. The food and drinks are actually not expensive the thing is if its rainy you cant dine in near the lake coz they dont have available canopy or any umbrellas. But over all I'll still recommend everyone to visit this place for relaxation, chilling, dining in with family, friends or even your love one☺️☺️

Nava del Rey, wine route
To a large extent, the historical development of Nava del Rey is linked to wine production. Demographic pressure and demand for products in the Medinense markets brought with it an expansion of farmland - thanks to the clearing of mountains - and the vineyard became one of the main resources, especially for the production of old or rancid wines. which were exported to the north of the peninsula, a destination that was consolidated in the 17th-18th centuries, the golden age of local wines.
One of the most unknown aspects of the historical heritage of Nava del Rey are the traditional or underground wineries excavated in the clay to store wine. Located below the homes, the more than 400 traditional wineries of Nava del Rey make up an endless number of galleries, canyons, accesses and vents... authentic underground cathedrals built under the homes thanks to the good work of local masons, sometimes called "poceros" or “bodegueros”. In addition, the visitor can learn in situ how a barrel is made at the Burgos Cooperage - founded in 1941 -, a disused craft that survives in the town within one of the two existing cooperages in Castilla y León.
However, in Nava del Rey you can not only enjoy a rich heritage linked to the world of wine, this municipality has resources of special interest at a heritage and ethnographic level such as the Church of Santos Juanes (declared BIC), the convents
of Franciscans and Sacred Hearts or that of PP. redondistas, the hermitage of the Concepción and the Vera Cruz, the Hospital of San Miguel, the Humilladero de la Virgen de la Soledad, the Pozo de la Nieve or its ancestral houses, among many others.
If we talk about Nava del Rey we cannot forget its natural environment, especially the space hosted by the Natural Network 2000 and known as the La Nava-Rueda SPA Zone, which stands out for its poultry population in pine forest land.

Chill Cafe vibes : Kopi Mesin cafe
I never get bored to sit in a cafe or coffee shop, slow down my (busy) day and enjoy my coffee. I’m a sweet tooth and need a slice of cake that is perfectly match with my coffee. This time, I choose a Cafe located in the town of Ayer Keroh.
📍Kopi Mesin, Ayer Keroh, Melaka.
This Kopi Mesin cafe has friendly atmosphere and the space helps people be more sociable and lively. A lot of tables provided allow people to hanging out with friends.
👍🏻Good variety of coffees, desserts & cakes, clean toilet and i love how spacious & cozy the atmosphere. I tried out their German coffees & Hazelnut coffees with whipped cream and coffee cookies on top of it. A delightful Pandan Gula Melaka cake served with it.
Sitting in a cafe watching people walk by can be an interesting way to spend time. I enjoy my time here because it makes me feel as if I was a part of other people's life stories. That also helping me to think creatively for my writing.

ម្លប់ឫស្សី បារាយណ៍ (Bamboo Roasted Siem Reap) located at Unnamed Road, Krong Krong Siem Reap, 17714, Cambodia is a place that serves real local traditional cambodia food.
I was brought by locals to this place since I wanted to try something local and indeed it was. There were dishes like fried worms, tarantula and many others on the menu. I was that adventurous so instead I tried the local bbq chicken(which was abit tough), the local caught fish with their home made chilli paste which was mixed with red ants and chilli giving you that crunchy feel. Also, had the chance to try the bee eggs which felt abit like a bubble tea pearl just that it's more of a salty sweet taste with abit of bee wax. Oh and lastly, we had a dessert that was shaved coconut shavings with brown sugar, that was amazing!
The place here also is a very family oriented restaurant as you can see the tables here are spread out individually in a hut, ideal for big gatherings.

Arita- Japanese porcelain since 16th century 有田燒
If you are interested in Japanese porcelain and pottery, you must pay a visit to Arita in the western part of Saga prefecture in Kyushu. This is the town where porcelain clay was first found in Japan and craftsmen have been making porcelain here for over 300 years.
While the main streets of the town is lined with shops selling Arita ware, there are a few historic places and museums worth seeing.
My first stop was the Sueyama Shrine just off the main street. The big tori by the entrance is covered with blue and white tiles that are identifiable to Arita porcelain! There are also many large size porcelain vases on the shrine premise which make this shrine different from other shrines in Japan.
Just 10 minutes walk away is the Kyushu Ceramic Museum which is on a small slope. It is quite a large museum and has a big parking just outside. Entrance and parking are both free. There are four main halls and rooms and will need about about hour to see the exhibits. I thought the most interesting piece was the large ceramic clock will sound every 30 minutes with rolling balls and moving figurines going up and down.
Another interesting place to check out is the Arita Porcelain Park which is about 5 minutes drive from the Main Street. It is a big park with a building that follows that of Zwinger Palace in Germany. It is definitely not what you would expect to see in Japan’s countryside. While it is called a porcelain park, there is not much here relating to porcelain other than the Arita Pottery Workshop- where we saw most of the visitors that day. It is free to visit and there is a large souvenir shop and restaurant near the entrance. Since it is so close to the town center, you can definitely make a stop here.
Arita also hosts one of the largest ceramic fair annually in early May during the Golden Week holiday. It is said to attract nearly a million visitors each year.

Visit Toul, Grand Est
Shaped by the wars in its past, Toul was once part of the province called the Three Bishoprics (Trois Évêchés), with Nancy and Metz in the 17th century. It was fortified by Vauban at the end of that century. Its episcopal history ended with the Revolution, and the destruction of many religious monuments. The old episcopal palace is now the Town Hall.
Its historic and military past and its architectural heritage contributed to the development of tourism. Explore the medieval side streets of the city centre to learn about its history: the Gothic Cathedral of St. Stephen, one of the most beautiful in Lorraine, has one of France's largest Gothic cloisters. An original building with its Romanesque plan, Gothic construction and Flamboyant façade, the cathedral is part of a tourist itinerary.
