For a one-night stay with two meals at Sun Moon Lake, we chose the Fleur de Chine Hotel, which offers an excellent lake view. The hotel's location is superb, with no other buildings around to obstruct the view. You can overlook the entire Sun Moon Lake and the lush forest. No wonder the hotel is always busy despite its high price. The hardware, software, and service quality are impeccable. We stayed in a 46-square-meter classic mountain view room, but we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe Japanese-style mountain and lake view room, probably because it was a weekday. Although the area is about the same, the layout and view are much more open. The Japanese tatami mats make the resting space larger and more leisurely. The room is a corner room, offering a panoramic view of the mountains and lake. It's fantastic! The main purpose of visiting Sun Moon Lake is to relax and vacation, so the comfort of the hotel is very important. Besides the great view, there is also a large bathtub for hot springs, as well as a balcony and lounge chairs. It's so comfortable that you don't want to leave the room. However, we still went cycling around the lake trail to get closer to nature. As for the room rates, the classic mountain view room with one night and two meals costs about 13,000 TWD. Considering the upgrade to the 17,000 TWD deluxe Japanese-style mountain and lake view room, the money spent is worth it. After all, it's a five-star hot spring hotel with a first-row lake view. It's also the first restaurant since the start of the loop, so if you're hungry, you can grab lunch here. However, the prices are on the higher side. The Sun Moon Lake loop road was selected by CNNGO as one of the world's top 10 most beautiful bike paths, so you definitely have to experience its bike path! Starting from the Xiangshan Visitor Center, you can stay on the bike path all the way to Shuishe without having to get back on the road. While the Yongjie and Tongxin Bridges are the most famous sections, my favorite is the Shuishe Dam. This stretch is a straight road with open views, making the lake feel just within reach. The wooden boardwalk design adds to the leisurely feel of the path. We went to Sun Moon Lake on January 3rd and signed up for a one-day tour. We departed from the Twinstar Hotel in Taichung and it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to Sun Moon Lake. The scenery of Sun Moon Lake that day was magnificent as you can see in the picture, and the weather was clear and warm, which was very comfortable. In addition, I set out on a sightseeing boat and passed through three small islands in total, so I was able to enjoy a more comprehensive view. The first stop was to the island where Grandma’s tea eggs were made. The tea eggs were well-flavored and tasted unique in Taiwan (much better than those sold in convenience stores). The second stop was the market at Sun Moon Lake, where there were many shops selling special delicacies, similar to a night market. The most famous of them was No. 18 black tea. I also bought a handmade owl here. The last stop was back to the starting point. *Finally, please note that there is a sightseeing cable car in Sun Moon Lake, but it is closed on Wednesdays, so please be aware if you are interested in taking it. #SunMoonLake

I chose this B&B in Shuishe at Sun Moon Lake. Since I take the bus 🚌, and the bus stops at Shuishe, it is more convenient to live in Shuishe. Shuishe has restaurants, convenience stores, souvenir shops, and gift shops. The B&B offers some discounts to guests, such as buying a one-day boat ticket for only NT$200, which is NT$100 cheaper than the original price. I booked a Blue Sky double room, which was very big. There is a small terrace. But the terrace faces the hotel behind, so I didn't think much about sitting on it. There is a tatami-like place in the room with a small tea machine, and next to it there is a shark doll and 2 cuckoos, so cute. I was traveling alone for many days, and suddenly there was a shark to accompany me, and I felt that the loneliness was swept away 😆. There is a stand-up bidet in the bathroom, and the toilet seat is the kind that heats up when plugged in. The overall cleanliness is great, and the sheets and towels have a nice laundry smell. The homestay provides tea bags, coffee, shampoo🧴, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrush🪥, slippers🩴, and cotton swabs. There is also a coffee machine and biscuits on the basement floor for guests to enjoy. Breakfast is served in portions. That day I had fruit, fried eggs 🍳, fried pork, a piece of French bread 🥖, fried chicken nuggets, fried hash browns and a small amount of vegetables 🥬. Men may not feel full enough. You can rent a bicycle at Sun Moon Lake and ride a short distance from the Shuishe Pier to the Visitor Center. You can then come here to take pictures of the beautiful Xiangshan Visitor Center. You can also walk to different corners and there is an observation deck on the roof. You can see a different perspective. The overall room is bright, the scenery is pleasant and comfortable. The lake view is really unbeatable. You can directly see the beautiful scenery of Sun Moon Lake when lying on the bed, taking a bath, or resting on the sofa. ❣️The afternoon tea is delicious and worth a try. You can choose to take it back to your room to eat. The egg cake is really good when eaten hot. ❣️The three breakfast options are "Treasure Island Porridge with Seven Flavor Side Dishes", "Grilled Wild Rice Bamboo Shoots Breakfast Platter", and "Braised Beef Noodles". In addition, there are bread, fruits, and drinks on the table for you to take, so you can eat your fill.
