Location: Helan Mountain Reserve near Yinchuan city in Ningxia province. Helan Mountain is a north-south mountain range located in the boundary of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia which is an important geographical boundary in northwestern China. It stretches 220 km (137 mi) from north to south. We took the cable car up and down. Not expensive and you get stunning views on the way. Our 3day Tengger desert tour started from Yinchuan, the red lake had to be it's superhighlight😊 Well, you can compare real pictures (August) with the first one from the drone the tour guide shared (captured somewhen in spring) 😁 Still it was a superhighlight, though a bit (MUCH🤭) smaller than expected and overadvertised. The stop at the lake was a few hours (we had more time, as we rented camels to catch up with the rest of the group) The water and surface were extremely hot 🔥 Still recommend to have this great experience: not so many red lakes on the planet #redlake, #yinchuan #ningxia

We came to Yinchuan to go to the desert. Having an extra day to spend in the city I found this winery: it looked gorgeous and so European that we couldn't miss it. We took a taxi from our hotel (less than 20yuan), ticket cost 80yuan. We were almost alone! (mid August) First you visit the museum part (all written information is in Chinese and English) and then go to the degustation part (2 wine glasses and a small bottle of cognac were included) After visiting the manor house we went to the vinery, too.
