This time we walked up from the tunnel side and walked down the village way. The total distance is about 3.5 km. I must say that it is not difficult to walk because there are stairs up and down the entire way. Walk and feel the cool breeze. In a blink of an eye, the whole trip has already been completed. I believe that Tamsui is a must visit seesighting spot for everyone who visits Taipei. When I saw this red bridge through the train window, I promised myself that I have to visit this place. And the photos I got are really worth my walking. Nearby the bridge, there are parks along both sides of the river that you can enjoy spending time here to picnic, cycling, doing some exercise or taking a walk. The route offers beautiful sea and mountain views, plus it's easy to walk. Only 2 km. away, with fresh air all the way. You won't be disappointed here... Bitoujiao Highlights - This trail is free of charge. The route is a circle, with two ways to go up and down. We walked up to the port side. There's a photo spot by the sea here. We recommend eating and using the restroom on this side first. On the way down, we got off at the school side, which will take you to the bus stop at the destination. - Travel: On the way there, we took the train from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang Station, then took a taxi, which is convenient and saves time, making us arrive faster. The day we went, the weather was nice and cool, so we could walk around in a relaxed manner. On the way back, we can take bus number 856 or 886 back to Ruifang Station to continue our trip. - For this trip, we planned to spend half a morning here, to experience nature, see the sea view with the mountains, and take pictures while soaking up the atmosphere. Shifen waterfall is a well known must-visit scenic waterfall when visiting New Taipei, Pingxi District. Remember to take some good photos while crossing the suspension bridge when visiting, and the WATERFALL ! Recommend to bring umbrellas there in case of showers. Best time to visit will be summer as there will be lesser rainfall for a better dry experience. Best viewing location of Yin Yang Sea will be at Shui Nan Bus stop- YinYang Sea Observation deck (水湳洞-陰陽海觀景台) Do look out for cars if you want to grab a shot on the road. This area is perfect for your Instagram shots as well, it’s not very accessible so I will recommend you guys to charter a car tour or can rent a car to drive over. Ironically, I never heard nor knew about Tamsui Old Street until my local friend took me there during my trip. The street is well known in Taiwan for its historical past and local delicacies. My friend told me that there was initially a proposal to expand the railway system with a part of it running through the old street, but the project was modified so as preserve the street which has been there for more than a century since the Qing Dynasty. Some local delicacies are the iron eggs and Agei (transparent noodles wrapped in tofu).Since it’s a coastal village, there’s an abundance of seafood snacks along the street: baked squid, fried fish, shrimp rolls… I defo recommend the seafood there. Everything I ate was fresh and delicious! There are also lots of options around if you feel like shopping. I also wandered in the alleys along the street to explore around. The street was pretty crowded, especially on a Saturday afternoon. Chanced upon this park on my way to Decathlon in Sanchong. This is a HUGE park! Sadly, I didn't have the whole day to explore. Nice weather that day too. Elementary school kids were having an excursion there with their parents and teachers. Lots of different fancy slides that are 3-storeys high. Feels like reliving my childhood again.
