#TravelChina #BeijingReview Mutianyu Great Wall 🚩 Finally got to step on the Great Wall of China. We chose to go to Mutianyu for the main reason : we like the 6th fortress on the East side. Looking at the picture, we had to come here. Another reason is that we wanted to sit on the cable car and dangle our legs and go back down with the Toboggan. It looked so much fun. We chose to travel with zanbus because the pick-up point was near the hotel we booked. It was very convenient to walk to the pick-up point. Before the travel date, the guide contacted us via wechat to confirm the pick-up point at Dengshikou Exit C. We chose the 08:00 round. On the day we went, it took only about an hour. Unfortunately, it was very dusty. When we were on the bus, the guide would recommend and ask which side we wanted to go to West or East or choose to go to West and go to East. The guide could arrange everything. The price would be different. Most people on the bus chose the West side, but we chose East. We would get a paper ticket to use to take the cable car. Coming in the morning, there was almost no need to wait in line for the bus and cable car. But this side is very steep. From the beginning, just walking to the tower is very tiring. On the way down, it was lucky. The queue was not long and we got to ride the slide down. I have to say that it was very fun. I highly recommend it. When we got down, we still had time to eat and walk around a bit. Then it was time to go back, around 2:30 PM. The Great Wall has many sections, each with its own unique beauty. On this trip, we chose Mutianyu Section because it only takes an hour and a half by bus from downtown Beijing. In addition to being close, Mutianyu Section also has Taboggan, a slide that slides down from the Great Wall, which is the highlight of this trip. It's awesome! My friends have been waiting for this trip with Mubus. Everyone can choose the tour they want or travel by themselves, depending on their convenience. 💴 Tour price 180 CNY ✅ This price includes: 1. Round-trip bus from Dongzhimen Station to Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall 2. English-speaking guide 3. Great Wall admission ticket (If you go by yourself, buy a ticket for 40 CNY) 4. Park bus (If you go by yourself, buy a ticket for 15 CNY) ❌ This price does not include 1. Buffet food 60 CNY 2. The cable car up and down is separated into East and West sides, but both sides cost 140 CNY. If you want to go to both sides, it will cost 280 CNY What is the difference between East and West sides❓ 🛝 Mutianyu East side: The cable car uphill only has a fall lock. It doesn't take long. It's not scary at all. You can sit in each cable car for 2 people. When the cable car goes to the top, we will be at Fort 6. We can walk from Fort 6 to Fort 1, but the guide recommended that we walk to Fort 4, which is the highlight. There will be 3 towers in a row. Then come back down by taking the Taboggan. This is really fun. There will be a control in the middle. If you push forward, it will go faster. If you pull back, it will brake. The slide down takes quite a while. I feel that it is worth the money because it is so much fun. Along the way, there are beautiful flowers to see while going down. 🚠 Mutianyu West side: This side, when getting off the park bus, you have to walk about 200 meters up the mountain, very tiring. This side will take a cable car called 360 view cable car, can seat up to 8 people. The cable car will stop at Fort 14, which is the only one with a bathroom and a 5A sign. This side has a flat and long walkway, quite beautiful, but there are some difficult spots. The round trip will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes. I personally think the West side is beautiful, but the East side has a taboggan that you can slide down more fun. But in any case, walking on both sides is tiring. The total cost of going to the Great Wall of China is almost 2,500 baht per person. The Great Wall of China is a must-visit destination at least once in a lifetime. We recommend the Mu Tian Yu section, which offers a one-day trip from Beijing. There are two ways to ascend this section of the Great Wall: 1. Toboggan - an open chairlift without glass, where the descent is similar to a slider with a lever. 2. Cable Car - an enclosed lift with glass, which we chose. The view is beautiful, and although the walking distance is longer, it is absolutely worth it.

The first time to the Great Wall of China, Mu Tian Yu. Today, there were very few people. It was easy to take pictures. If anyone wants to come, I recommend this checkpoint. It's easy to walk. We bought a one-day tour. It's not really a tour. It's like they helped us book a car and buy tickets for us. But we each went our separate ways and met at the meeting point. 🚘 💰 The tour we booked cost 1,213 Thai baht (including round-trip transportation from the city to the checkpoint - from the checkpoint up a little further - the morning shift - the entrance fee) ✅ I think this checkpoint is clean ✅ Easy to walk ✅ Not many people ✅ Afraid of heights, quite suitable. After 3 years of living in China, I finally made it to the Great Walk of China! 🇨🇳 🎫 I booked a tour which provided the ticket and transport from Beijing, about a 2 hour bus ride. 📅 I visited in March, the weather was not too hot or cold and the crowds were low. 🚠 I chose to take the cable car up to tower 14. You can also hike up or even choose to slide back down the hill! ⛰️ The highest point you can walk to on the Mutianyu Great Wall is tower 23. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk there from tower 14. 📸 For the best photos, I definitely recommend hiking up to tower 23. It gets quite steep towards the end, but it worth it for the beautiful view! 🥢 At the entrance, you can find many souvenir shops and restaurants. 🌟 Overall, I had an amazing time here. 🚌 I visited the Great Wall at Mutianyu. I went with a company called Mubus. They were amazing! For 150rmb, they provided a bus to and from the Great Wall, as well as covered ticket prices for entry. For additional costs, you can choose to toboggan down the wall! 🎋 I went in early March, which I highly recommend. It was quiet and still, allowing for perfect pictures and a much more laid back experience. While you may not have the lush greenery that surrounds the Great Wall during the summer months, there were many upsides to going off season. In addition to it being less crowded, it was also much cooler than it would be in the summer. ✨ The Great Wall really is so special and I am so happy I got to see it and hike it. Mutianyu (慕田峪长城) is one of the best-preserved and most picturesque sections of the Great Wall of China. It is located in the mountains 70 km northeast of Beijing. I liked this section of the wall much more than Badaling (八达岭). You can get here with a tour group or on your own. If you're going independently, you need to get to the Dongzhimen Public Transport Hub (东直门交通枢纽), take bus 916块, get off at the final stop Huairou Beidajie (怀柔北大街), cross the road, take bus H23, get off at Mutianyu Huandao (慕田峪环岛). Then walk back a little and you'll see the entrance to the ticket offices. Before the entrance to the wall, there is a parking lot, souvenir shops, and cafes. You can buy a ticket for the cable car and ride it to the 14th tower, then walk in either direction. I also recommend buying a ticket for the toboggan ride down from the Great Wall. It costs 100 yuan. The wall itself runs along the mountain ridges, rising to a height of 1,000 meters above sea level. The views are simply stunning - endless crenellated walls wind along the mountain ridges, disappearing into the distance. It's especially beautiful here on a clear day. Walking along the wall is quite a challenge due to the numerous steps and steep climbs. But the effort is worth it - the sight of the ancient stone structures, shrouded in legends and history, is mesmerizing. Overall, Mutianyu left an indelible impression on me. It is one of the must-see attractions when visiting Beijing and China. We chose to go to Mutianyu because less visitors and tourists come here as this part of the wall is located more far away than Badalin Greta wall. And we were never disappointed. One of the wonders of the world happens to be located right here in Beijing. The Great Wall is a marvel of human feats and can show what is possible through collaboration. To get to this part of the Great Wall, take the bus there, and then take the ski lift to the top of you are not one for hiking. The view from the top is beautiful including the towers that one can see out of after taking the stairs to the top of the post. There is also a toboggan ride down on this side of the Great Wall that I highly recommend because it is extremely fun! This destination will easily be the most recommended destination I can give. In the morning, I took the slow train from Beijing Railway Station to Huairou. It took 1 hour for 12.50 rmb. Upon arriving at the train station, you can take Didi to the Mutianyu entrance,but upon exiting, a driver offered to take me for 70 yuan (Didi is around the same price). We drove for less than an hour. Then, he stopped at a shop across the entrance of Mutianyu and the shop owner helped me buy tickets (this saved time as I didn't have to join the ticket office line). The entrance ticket was bought using the Mutianyu Great Wall official wechat. It was 60 yuan. It was the cost of the roundtrip bus up to the mountain and the entrance fee. There are two cablelift companies. The one I bought was for 140 yuan. It included the cable lift up and toboggan down. Check for part 2.

How to get there - The hotel I was staying at helped us hire a driver. We left at around 6am and arrived around 7. Attraction - One of the beautiful world’s 7 wonders! The hotel recommended Mu Tian Yu for 2 reasons: 1- It is less busy than Badaling 2- The scenery is stunning *Get there early! It gets super busy starting at around 9am. One of the New Seven Wonders. Went on a weekday by bus which was 80 RMB, entrance fee of 40RMB and we took cable car up and down at 140RMB. We took the trek out to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall while in Beijing, because you're silly if you don't go see it at least once. Took the tour to Great Wall Mutianyu location. Recommend to find a good bus and guide. You don't need one for the actual wall but good to learn a bit on the bus going up. Take the Cable Car or Gondola up and down. Do the east if you want history, do the west if you want scenic mountains. But the west is a much harder hike. Amazing feat of architecture and you don't realize the scope until you are actually there.
