My First Day in Shanghai – A City of Lights, Towers & Apple Tech
#travel #china #pudong #pudong #shangai
Touchdown in Shanghai! After checking into Putian Meibo Hotel, nestled within a cozy mall complex, I was excited to begin exploring the city. The hotel’s friendly staff helped us arrange a DiDi ride, and soon we were off—heading straight for the iconic Pudong area, the heart of Shanghai’s modern skyline.
Our first stop? The stunning Apple Store at Pudong, set beneath the city’s towering skyscrapers with its sleek glass cylinder entrance that feels like stepping into the future. Inside, it was just as vibrant—buzzing with shoppers, stunning displays, and the polished minimalism Apple is known for. As someone who loves tech, it was like a mini pilgrimage.
After that, we wandered through Pudong’s cityscape—wide boulevards, dazzling lights, and a jaw-dropping collection of skyscrapers that made me feel both small and inspired. We passed by some of the tallest buildings in the world, and even caught sight of one that’s considered one of the modern 7 Wonders of the World—the Shanghai Tower, rising like a spiral into the sky. It was breathtaking.
As the sun set and the buildings began to glow, we started looking for a dinner spot. It wasn’t easy deciding—so many restaurants, so many smells! But walking through the streets in search of that one perfect meal added to the magic of the night.
My first day in Shanghai was a perfect mix of tech, architecture, and culture. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to this city adventure.

SHANGHAI
Exploring Yuyuan Garden and Yuyuan Street in Shanghai was an enchanting experience! The garden is a serene oasis that beautifully displays traditional Chinese landscape design with its ornate pavilions, rockeries, and lush greenery. Walking through the garden felt like stepping back in time. Just outside, Yuyuan Street buzzed with vibrant life, offering a stark contrast with its lively market atmosphere. The array of shops selling traditional crafts, souvenirs, and local snacks provided a delightful taste of local culture. This place is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the perfect blend of tranquility and bustling city life in the heart of Shanghai

See the space at Shanghai S&T Museum
Located near by the Dishui lake in Shanghai Pudong district,The Shanghai Science & Technology Museum is China's premier astronomical science museum, where you can explore the mysteries of the universe, get known to the origin of life and how we look at the sky. It’s a little far away from the downtown, which is suggested to take metro line 16 from Longyang road to Dishui Lake, total in 1h16mins.
This museum is perfect for family visiting, especially for teen children, since the Apollo moon landing, human beings have been using their own efforts to recognize and understand the unknown world.
Children here would know the exploration of the starry space, Perhaps one day, they may truly connect with life outside the world, and then we can confidently say ‘Hello, welcome to the world of human beings’.

Exploring Jing'an Temple @Shanghai
Jing'an Temple is one of the most famous temples in Shanghai; therefore, I visited this temple, despite the weather being gloomy.
Located in the Jing'an district, West downtown of Shanghai, Jing'an temple is a Tangmi Buddhist temple. The first thing that really wow me was the design and architecture of the temple, which was very beautiful and impressive with the backdrop of highrise buildings in Shanghai. Is like traditional blends in the cosmopolitan city.
This temple is calm, and clean. So nice to be in this temple, to appreciate and enjoy the significant artwork in this temple, including the well know and famous Hongwu bell, and the bronze Buddha.
Address: 1686 Nanjing Road, Shanghai

One Day at Shanghai Disney!
Shanghai Disneyland is located in Pudong district. It’s not as large as other Disney parks like in Orlando or Hong Kong so it’s very easy to do and see everything in 1 day!
We spent 1 day and managed to see and do everything we wanted! Make sure to ride Tron and Pirates of the Caribbean! Both of these attractions were AMAZING! The special effects on Pirates of the Caribbean had me stunned! We rode Tron 3 times! The wait times were not very long which surprised me!
We ate lunch at Stargazer Grill in Tomorrowland and the cheeseburgers were super good! The bun had Captain America burned into the bun! In true Disney fashion the theming was top notch!
We ended our night with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory in DisneyTown and the service was fast and friendly!

Hakkasan
Hakkasan restaurant is located at the 5th floor, Bund 18, Shanghai, China. The location of this restaurant is quite good because you can see the bund view and HuangPu river view clearly from this restaurant. I recommend you to book in advance. Also, you can ask for the table with the bund view as well. You can go to this restaurant by taking taxi. This restaurant serves you with Chinese food. The signature dishes such as Crispy Peking duck with imperial caviar, Jasmine tea smoked pork rib are delicious.#chinesecuisine #shangai #china
Shanghai Disneyland
You can go to Shanghai Disneyland by taking metro line number 11 and drop at Disney resort station. Also, you can take taxi as well. However, if you would like to stay there, there are hotels around that area as well. Furthermore, there is Shanghai Disneyland Resort Hotel. The good thing is that you can access to amusement park earlier than the normal time. Moreover, you can buy the early park entry pass, so you can go the amusement park in the morning time, so it suits with people who like to take pictures and videos. Thus, you can get a perfect photo with less people. In addition, there is a new zone which is called Zootopia. This zone is very unique and outstanding. Also, don’t forget to download Shanghai Disneyland app because you can see the waiting time for the rides and it shows you all the places that you want to go such as restaurants, toilets, shops and so on.#shanghaidisneyland #china #shangai
