#summervacay I just spent another amazing weekend getting my dose of fresh air at Hongqiao Park near Shenzhen, and wow, it's seriously fun! The park is simply beautiful. The lush, green trees and the dappled shadows they cast create such a peaceful atmosphere, especially with the vibrant red of the bridge contrasting against it all. It's awesome that you can set up tents anywhere on the grass, and just spread out your camping table and chairs wherever you like. The bridge itself has several points where you can easily go down to explore different areas. I made sure to head to the tower top around 5:30 PM to catch the sunset – it was absolutely breathtaking! Beyond just relaxing, there's so much to do here. There's a dedicated cycling area, a miniature train, a track for remote-control cars, and even a massive golf course! Once it gets dark, the lights come on, giving the park a completely different, charming vibe. It's truly a fantastic spot for a weekend getaway from Shenzhen! #summervacay Shizuoka is truly an ideal destination for a relaxing weekend getaway! I spent two days there after visiting Mount Fuji, and I barely encountered any tourists – it was incredibly peaceful! I managed to fulfill all my Montbell shopping needs at the Cenova mall. It was uncrowded, well-stocked, and I even found items that were sold out in Tokyo! This mall is definitely worth exploring. I also did my drugstore shopping in Shizuoka; again, fewer people meant I could quietly browse and choose items at my leisure. For dining, I highly recommend the ASTY mall inside Shizuoka Station. There are tons of food options, mostly frequented by locals. Just pick any place that looks lively, and you won't go wrong – I haven't had a single bad meal there! You could easily plan a Shizuoka city day trip combined with a Chibi Maruko-chan Land day trip. Strolling around the city is very pleasant, and the best part is truly the paucity of tourists! Shizuoka is quite compact, and it's also relatively convenient to reach Atami, Izu, and the Fuji area from here. My dining experiences were mostly spontaneous but always delicious! As soon as you enter the park, you'll be captivated by the vast, lush green lawns 🤏 The sun wraps you in a warm embrace. Stroll slowly with friends, watch families set up tents and fly kites 🪁 Even the wind carries a sense of relaxation. Walking to the lakeside is simply amazing! The Chinese - style pavilion reflects on the water's surface, like an ink - wash painting 🎨 The red cedar trees and the distant buildings complement each other. Occasionally, a few waterbirds swim by 🦆 The hustle and bustle of the city is instantly cut off. Who can understand this sense of tranquility! There's also the super cool glass building - the Plant Greenhouse. It's full of modern vibes and makes for amazing photos 📸 I'm curious about how many wonderful plants are hidden inside. Since we weren’t driving and there’s no public transport to Delika, we started walking from Orduna instead. Bucharest really impressed us — full of charm, history, and buzzing energy. We stayed at The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection, and it was honestly one of the nicest hotel stays we’ve had in a while. Housed in a beautifully restored former bank, the hotel oozes character — think Art Deco interiors, grand staircases, and a Vault Bar tucked inside the old bank vault (very cool!). We were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco on arrival, which was such a lovely touch — and the staff were genuinely warm and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel sits right in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town, where you’ll find cobbled streets, great food, quirky bars and loads of history around every corner. I first visited Sinhagad early one misty morning, and the entire experience felt like stepping into a period drama. The cool breeze, the rising fog through the trees, and the distant call of birds created an almost cinematic setting. As I made my way up the winding path, I could almost hear the echoes of valor from Tanaji Malusare, the Maratha warrior who gave his life defending this fort. The monuments, memorials, and even the names of the bastions (like Kalyan Darwaza and Pune Darwaza) tell stories if you’re willing to listen. What made the experience truly memorable was the sense of peace that blankets the fort once you reach the top. With panoramic views of the valley and Khadakwasla Dam, and the gentle hum of local vendors preparing piping hot kanda bhaji (onion fritters) and pithla-bhakri, it’s a place where your senses are fully alive. Best Time to Visit: October to February is ideal. The weather is cool and the skies are clear. If you love monsoons, June to September offers lush greenery and dreamy mist—just be ready for a slippery trail! Pro Tips: Start early in the morning to beat the crowd and heat. Carry water, and wear good trekking shoes. Sinhagad is about 35 km from Pune and easily reachable by car or local transport.
