I have been watching c-dramas for years and this year I have finally visited Hengdian - the hollywood of China. As of 2024, there is still no bullet train to go to Hengdian directly. For this trip, I have availed a day bus tour from Hangzhou. The total shooting location we visited is 3 shooting location. I initially thought the place would be like a theme park where everything is walkable inside the location. However, most of the location are quite far from each other and the best way to travel is via car. My favorite shooting area would have been the replica of Forbidden City. After visiting the area, I have better appreciation to the hard working staff and actor of cdrama. #hengdianworldstudios #hengdian #100waysoftravel

If you watch CDrama those ancient dramas mostly have few scenes shot from this location - Qin Palace Qin Palace is huge and beautiful. You could dress up with the ancient cloths and have some photoshot there They have an alley that indicates which drama has been filmed at this location before There’s a free 4D short movie that you can experience but if require long queue i would not recommend I went at odd hours 3pm hence crowd isnt as much #china #hengdianworldstudios

Hengdian World Studios located in a city named Dongyang, Zhejiang Province is dubbed as one of the largest film studios in the world. It will be best to spent more days in the town of Hengdian if you would like to visit all the 7 scenic spots. As it was only a day trip for us, we only managed to visit The Palace of Emperor Qin 秦王宫。The single ticket is CN190/person, but if you planned to visit more than 1 scenic spot, it is advisable to purchase their combo ticket. They offered quite a number of activities where you can participate. You can play dress up in traditional costumes and try the flying cables like what you see in the dramas. Or you can even be the "Emperor" or "Empress". Many families and youngsters would take the opportunity to dress up and take photograph with the sceneries the studio has to offer. We joined their 3D Flying Theatre but I came out feeling nauseous 😅. Hengdian, which many people should know if they like watching Chinese series, is a studio that has filmed many Chinese series. Hengdian is located in Zhejiang Province. When we went, we got off at Hangzhou first, then took a fast train (30 minutes) for 1 station to Yiwu. Then we called a taxi (about 170 yuan) to the hotel in Hengdian. You can book train tickets on Trip. It's convenient because it will notify you all the time and the steps are explained in Thai. As for the hotel, you can book here as well (some hotels that are local will not accept foreigners because the hotel must report to us that we are staying). I recommend asking the Trip call center first to ask the hotel if they accept foreigners. But most of them accept foreigners anyway. Hotels that are large or have many branches will not have much of a problem. Hengdian Studio is very large and you have to buy a ticket to enter. You can buy this at the entrance in front. There are many prices. We bought a 2-day pass that allows entry to all places. If I remember correctly, it should be 500 yuan. *I recommend buying a 2-day pass like us because the area is really big and there are many places.
