The best way to explore the pyramids is to stay overnight in Giza and arrive early in the morning (it opens at 7:00). As a bonus, you might be able to see the light show from your window. Crowds gather quickly, especially after tour buses arrive around 9:00. ❌Also, it's better not to plan your visit on Friday or Saturday, as these days often see Egyptian school trips. 🎫 Entrance ticket: 300 EGP (~$10) 🎫 Inside the Pyramid of Khufu: 600 EGP (~$20) All tickets can be bought only at the entrance counters and only with a card, cash is not accepted. With 1 full day in Cairo, of course the pyramids are my first stop. Oh & picture or it didn’t happen! The pyramids are located 15km from the city center of Cairo. If you think they look impressive in photographs, wait till you’re standing at the foot of one of the pyramids! Business Hours: 7:00 - 18:00 Arrive early to purchase your ticket (starting at $10) Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours inside. Recommended visiting time: October to March (Winter) Once inside you can see the Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre, The Great Sphinx, Pyramid of Menkaure, Cemeteries, Tombs and Temples. There is A LOT to see, learn and photograph. Activities available inside are quad biking, horse riding, Camel rides, guided tours etc.. carry some $1 notes for tipping if that’s your thing. There are many souvenir stores all around the place but you will need to know how to bargain because the prices are hiked up as it is a tourist spot. Recommendation: go inside (walk) see all you need to see then save the activities for the end. Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for your own health and safety. It is highly recommended to approach the pyramids from the private tour entrance as your “first look” will be from afar. I will never forget the first time I’ve laid eyes on the Pyramids of Giza with the dessert as our background with only us and our private tour guide! We went back the next day on our own via the main entrance and unfortunately it wasn’t as magnificent as plenty of vendors are trying to haggle you to either purchase souvenirs or a tour. It was definitely a less calmer experience but we did get to see the Sphinx up close. Overall, I’m glad that we went back the next day to fully absorb the beauty of this amazing piece of history. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid and tomb of Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu. Built in the 26th century BC in Giza. Even though the location is not very convenient as it is a bit far from downtown, it is still totally worthy to visit. You might need a whole morning or a whole afternoon to plan both: the transportation and sightseen time for this place. It’s a place that is worthy to see both: during day and night time as the lights makes the place look stunning. It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot. This place is open everyday from 8am to 5pm. #createwithtrip #gizapyramid #egypt

Egypt was by far one of my best experience. Being that much closer to the pyramids is a breathtaking moment that everybody should experience once in their life time. oh yeah, me and that horse is a love story 😂. At some point I literally didn't want to get off. I spent exactly 2 hours riding it around the pyramids. I went to Egypt for the New Year holidays from 2024 to 2025. I went there because I wanted to see the ruins of historical buildings that I often see. I went to Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. I also went on the White Desert and Black Desert tours. I was impressed to finally see the historical buildings that I had seen in books since I was a child. I recommend going to Muhammad Ali Mosque in the evening! . Exploring Egypt My recent journey through Egypt was nothing short of extraordinary. Each destination offered a unique glimpse into the country’s rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. Cairo Cairo is a bustling metropolis, a blend of ancient and modern. The highlight was visiting the Egyptian Museum, home to an incredible collection of artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb. The energy of the city was palpable, especially in areas like Khan El Khalili bazaar, where I enjoyed bargaining for souvenirs and savoring local delicacies. Giza Pyramids Visiting the Giza Pyramids was a dream come true. Standing before the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx was awe-inspiring. I opted for a guided tour, which provided fascinating insights into the history and construction of these wonders. Watching the sunset over the pyramids was an unforgettable experience. Luxor Luxor, often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum, did not disappoint. Karnak Temple was breathtaking with its towering columns and intricate carvings. The Valley of the Kings was equally impressive; exploring the tombs of ancient pharaohs felt like stepping back in time. The sheer scale and artistry of these sites were astounding. Abu Simbel A trip to Abu Simbel is a must. The colossal statues of Ramses II at the entrance to the temple were magnificent. The intricate carvings inside tell stories of ancient battles and divine encounters. The journey there, whether by car or plane, is well worth it for such a remarkable sight. Hurghada After the historical sites, I found relaxation in Hurghada. The beaches were pristine, and I enjoyed snorkeling in the vibrant Red Sea. The underwater life was spectacular, with colorful corals and diverse marine species. It was the perfect way to unwind after days of exploring. Alexandria My trip concluded in Alexandria, a city steeped in history and Mediterranean charm. Visiting the Bibliotheca Alexandrina was a highlight, showcasing the city’s literary legacy. The Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa provided a fascinating glimpse into ancient burial practices. Strolling along the Corniche was a lovely way to soak in the coastal atmosphere. Conclusion Overall, Egypt captivated me with its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. From the iconic pyramids to the tranquil beaches, each location offered a distinct experience. I left with a deeper appreciation for Egypt’s rich heritage and a desire to return.
