A Magical Day in Iceland: Glaciers, Seafood & Sparkling Shores Today felt like a dream come true in the land of fire and ice! ❄️ We began our morning with a warm, cozy breakfast at our charming guesthouse – the perfect way to fuel up for an exciting day ahead. ☕🍞 With full bellies and high spirits, we set off for one of Iceland’s most iconic sights: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. There, we embarked on a thrilling amphibian boat tour booked through Arctic Adventures. 🛥️ Gliding across the icy blue waters surrounded by floating icebergs was truly breathtaking. The shimmering glacial landscape felt like something out of a fairytale – a once-in-a-lifetime experience we’ll never forget. 🌊✨ After soaking in the beauty of the lagoon, we made our way to the coastal town of Höfn for a delicious late lunch at Pakkhús Restaurant. 🦞 The seafood here is as fresh as it gets – the lobster was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the ocean views made the meal even more memorable. There’s no entrance fee, and you can park right next to the lagoon. Watching the massive icebergs drift lazily on the water with the Vatnajökull Glacier in the background felt like something out of a dream. The ice has this dazzling blue color, especially when the sun hits it just right! I highly recommend taking a boat tour, which gets you up close to the icebergs and seals swimming nearby! 🛶 It costs around €40-50, but totally worth it to experience the glacier’s majesty up close. Just standing there, watching these ancient chunks of ice float by, you feel the power and beauty of nature. I also visited Diamond Beach, right across the road, where smaller icebergs wash up on the black sand. #outdooradventures Visiting Jökulsárlón was like stepping into another world! 🌍 This stunning glacier lagoon in southeastern Iceland is a must-see. I got there around mid-morning to catch the light glistening off the icebergs, which float serenely in the deep blue water. There’s no entrance fee, so you can simply drive up, park, and explore. The first sight of those giant ice chunks drifting towards the Atlantic left me speechless. 🧊 The lagoon is surrounded by black sand beaches, and I even spotted some seals playing near the icebergs! The best part of my visit was taking a boat tour on the lagoon (around 6,500 ISK), which brought me up close to the icebergs. Being out on the water, feeling the cold air, and hearing the ice crack was magical. It was like a scene out of a movie! 🎥 The boat guide was informative, telling us all about the glacier’s history and the formation of the lagoon. The large and small ice blocks on the beach flow into the sea from the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and are then washed onto the nearby black sand beach by the waves. Diamond Beach is located on the island of Nusa Penida, Indonesia. We were blown away by the turquoise waters, towering cliffs and unique rock formations. To make the 1 hr drive worth it, I decided to go down to the beach only to discover that it was not an easy descend. The steps were carved into the cliffside and it was steep. Ropes were used as handrails and to lower or pull oneself up. I was worried of getting injured but we reached the beach safely after 20 mins. Going back up was also 20mins and I was panting. It is another beach that is not very suitable for swimming because the waves are quite high and there are a lot of rocks. But since you are already here, you must not miss walking down to touch the soft sand below. If anyone has enough time, I recommend it. As for those who come on a one-day trip and do not have much time, stopping by to take photos at the stairs is just as fun. As for the swing, Bali is not only in the rice fields in Ubud. Diamond Beach also has a Bali swing. If I remember correctly, the cost is reasonable, following the story of Bali. This is Diamond Beach, located on Nusa Penida Island is one of the best beaches you could find with a breathtaking view, white sand and clear blue water. To access the beach you have to go down a steep cliff, be sure to take care because it gets slippery as you go down. If you had to go somewhere on Nusa Penida, THIS IS IT. DIAMOND BEACH on the east side of the island. It costs a bit more since it takes an hour from the pier to get here. It's totally worth it. We did the whole bali tour and went to numerous spots. This was our favorite. It does have an entry fee of 25k each ($2) and parking for 5k (.33 cents). There are free swings at the top that faces another side of the cliff that reminded me of what you see at Kelingking Beach and an overlook of Diamond beach. So if you're strapped on time and money, just do this one. Most people stop at the top to take photos, so get there early and avoid the lines. I went all the way to the bottom and was surprised that I had to climb down using a rope the last 20 feet. Getting There - Most common and fastest way to reach Nusa Penida is by Fast Boat. There are multiple options of fast boats that leave every few hours until 5pm from Sanur Harbor Bali. The ride takes approx 1 hour and you will require a car or a motorbike to explore the island. Attractions - Nusa Penida has the most beautiful beaches and coastal formations. It takes at least two days to explore the island. Each days can be divided to visit east Nusa Penida and west Nusa Penida. Around Diamond beach, you can find Atuh beach, tree houses and Suwehan beach but expect a lot of stairs to reach anywhere in the island. Hotels - Hotels are abundant and in all kinds of budget. I’d say you will find mostly budget hotels than luxury hotels. But you will find impeccable service nevertheless. Food & Restaurants - There are many restaurants and beach clubs but mostly in southern sides. You can find western and local cuisines here. Shopping - Shopping is not quite popular in the region as they import almost everything from neighboring Bali or Java island. Diamond Beach on Nusa Penida was truly breathtaking. The entrance fee was IDR 35,000 (around AUD $3.5). To reach the beach, I took a steep staircase carved into the cliffside, which offered stunning views of the turquoise waters and dramatic limestone formations along the way. The white sandy beach at the base was pristine, and the natural beauty was simply unmatched. While it’s a perfect spot for relaxing and taking photos, I noticed the currents were quite strong, so swimming didn’t seem very safe. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend wearing sturdy shoes for the climb and bringing essentials like water and sunscreen. Iceland's Diamond Beach is a famous attraction on the south coast of Iceland. Located opposite Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. It is approximately 377 kilometers from Reykjavik and admission is free. This time I came here as part of a local one-day tour. The broken ice in the glacial lagoon is washed ashore, forming a strong contrast with the black sand on the beach. The different shapes of ice cubes stranded on the black sand look like shining diamonds from any angle. They are very shocking when viewed from a distance. Diamond Beach @ Nusa Penida, Bali Entrance Fees: Idr25k/person, comes with a s bottle of water The entrance to Atuh Beach and Diamond Beach is the same. The first staircase you see will be the way leads you down to the Diamond Beach. Takes around 20mins to climb down to the beach. The staircase is narrow and steep at certain point. I must say people there is the most wonderful people. They are ready to give you a hand to help you climb down on those difficult spot and also encourage you all the way when you are climbing up or down😉 Bring along: Hat, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, A pair of shoes with good grip There is no toilet down at the beach and the one outside is chargeable. To avoid large number of people, I will advisep to visit this place at around 3pm. I arrived by 1pm and the queue is crazy at the staircase we have to take turns to go up and down (only one way). It is not that hard to go down and up for this beach, if you are not that fit just take it slow, enjoy the view along the route and let people behind you to go first.
