#timetotravel What an awesome place Powell's City of Books is. When I jokingly said to our relatives here, "Drop uncle and I off here and we'll close the store." We kinda did. Uncle and I went separately inside and ended up roaming and looking at books until closing time. We spent roughly 2 hours there and it was fun! The bookstore is huge with lots of sections or multi-colored zones. I noticed some books were sold cheaper here than on Amazon or even in Hong Kong's eslite. I bought a copy of Nonviolent Communication by Rosenberg (my first ever bought book! 😁) and it was the last copy. I even took home a free map of the bookstore and free bookmarks. #seoul We purposely looked for Starfield Library in COEX Mall as I really wanted to see the place in person. Fantastic! That's the right word for me. We were mesmerized with its eyecatching design and thousands of available books that rose all the way to the glass ceiling. That ceiling also greatly added to the ambiance and let in lots of natural light during the day. The space is full of books but it’s large and airy, and there’s so much public seating around that you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There are two floors, with cafes and even more seats tucked into the walls of books. However, it is not quiet. It is a tourist spot, and people are continually moving in and out. There’s a lot of foot traffic at the center of the library, but the second floor and the outer areas of the first floor are quiet and relaxing. A nice place to visit especially if you are thinking of shopping in the malls as well. You can also just pop in to see it and enjoy a coffee or snack at one of the cafes Tip: If you go in December, the library puts up a beautiful tall Christmas tree and projects a huge festive video across the entirety of the bookshelf walls! #vacation #library #coexmall #books

The titles written by Singaporean authors are increasingly getting more recognised, which is a really good thing. This locally-owned bookstore was quite good in supporting the local authors and had also gained popularity for itself. We attended one of the publicity events that was a book fair. This amazing bookstore is visually appealing with its mirrored ceilings creating this reflective illusion of symmetry, an oval room with stepped shelves lined with lights underlining its shape and a kid’s reading room with a rollercoaster inspired interior! 📚🎢🪞 In the centre, there’s a corridor with tables and bookshelves on both sides. There’s also a coffee bar where you can grab a coffee and sit around with a book. I saw people working on their laptops, but I wouldn’t personally recommend as the bookstore was pretty crowded and pretty noisy. You can easily feel overwhelmed with people constantly on the move around you as the bookstore isn’t so big. Most books are Chinese books. Some books have English titles but they were translated versions. Located in the center of the buildings complex, and resembling more a museum than a contemporary bookstore. This is the only Tsutaya Bookstore in Shanghai. Tsutaya offers two floors of coffee shops (3), a small crafts and many books to buy from. Architecture is breathtaking. Terrace was close in our visit. To enter the bookstore you need to make reservation, don’t be surprised if next available spot is in a week time.
