Spring Vietnam Adventure: Hiking in Ninh Binh🍃
#springwander
During our spring trip to Vietnam, my husband and I spent a few unforgettable days in Hanoi before heading to Ninh Binh. The area is absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush green landscapes that make it feel like a hidden paradise. One of the highlights of our trip was hiking up Núi Ngoạ Long (Lying Dragon Mountain). The trek was challenging, but the views from the top were beyond incredible—worth every step!
The beauty of the natural surroundings and the sense of peace in Ninh Binh made this spot an amazing escape from the city hustle.
Why You Should Visit:
✔ Stunning green landscapes perfect for nature lovers
✔ Breathtaking panoramic views from the top of Lying Dragon Mountain
📍 Address: Ninh Binh, Vietnam

If you want to travel in a slow life style, you must come to Tam Coc (Tam Coc), Vietnam. This is a very chill boat trip spot, surrounded by views of limestone mountains, rivers, and rice fields. No matter where you look, it is refreshing and pleasing to the eye.
During the boat trip, you will pass through a natural limestone cave. The atmosphere is very good, quiet, and perfect for relaxation.
The highlight is that the boatmen here row with their feet, which is a unique characteristic of this place. It is very enjoyable to watch. If you want to experience nature up close, we recommend visiting during the rice season (May - June) because the rice fields will be green or golden, which is another beautiful color.

The most welcoming homestay
We were welcomed with tropical fruits and a cup of tea, showing us the most beautiful Vietnamese generosity. The location was amazing, as it was right in the heart of Tam Coc. It wqs very peaceful and quiet, however, since you are so close to everything else, it’s a perfect balance between tranquility and exploration. The owner was so kind to us, helping us navigate our way through the city. The breakfast was massive and very delicious. The rooms very pristinely clean and had all the necessary amenities such as a hairdryer and kettle and AC, which made our stay soo lovely. We rented bikes from her and explored the outskirts of Ninh Bihn. Highly recommend.#ninhbinh

Best view in Ninh Binh, Vietnam
Nui Ngoa Long is located in Ninh Binh, northern Vietnam. Ninh Binh itself is a very popular tourist destination that is about 100km from Hanoi. From Hanoi, you can take a 2h bus ride to get to the city.
Amongst Ninh Binh’s attractions, Nui Ngoa Long is a famous attraction known for its great views. It is located together with Mua Cave which is also a popular attraction. To get to the top of Ngoa Long Mountain, one has to climb around 500 steps. At the top, there is a tower for photo-taking, though there is likely a queue for this.
Near the tower is a dragon sculpture which is the best spot for observing sunrise or sunset. Do note that there are no proper steps leading to the dragon, so you will have to stand on the ledges. Depending on the season and time, these ledges may be quite crowded (and somewhat dangerous) as well.
I visited during Tet (traditional Vietnamese new year) in February and there was quite a crowd at Nui Ngoa Long. Regardless, we enjoyed the great views and good weather.

Journey Through the Mystical Landscapes of Vietnam
#vietnamtrip #Hanoi #Sapa #ninhbinh #seasia
Our adventure began with an exhilarating transfer from Noi Bai International Airport to the enchanting town of Sapa. Nestled in the Hoàng Liên Son Mountains, Sapa greeted us with its misty allure and vibrant culture.
For the next four days and three nights, we immersed ourselves in Sapa's breathtaking beauty. Our journey to Fansipan, the "Roof of Indochina," was a thrilling ascent, offering panoramic views of terraced rice fields and distant valleys. At Nhà Thờ Đá, the iconic stone church, we felt the pulse of Sapa's rich history. The serene landscapes of Núi Hàm Rồng and the mesmerizing Cầu kính rồng mây provided us with countless photo opportunities.
A visit to Cây cô đơn, the famous lone tree, left us marveling at nature's solitary beauty, while the Nhà văn hóa Thôn Cát Cát introduced us to the vibrant traditions of the H'Mong people. Each location in Sapa, from its cultural hubs to its natural wonders, left us with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for this unique region.
Returning to Hanoi, we were eager for the next leg of our journey—a day tour to Ninh Binh, often referred to as the "Ha Long Bay on land." Our visit began with a serene boat trip through Tam Coc and Trang An, where we floated past limestone karsts and lush greenery. The ancient capital of Hoa Lu beckoned us with its historical significance and timeless beauty.
Exploring the Bich Dong and Bai Dinh Pagodas, we were captivated by the intricate architecture and peaceful surroundings. The Mua Cave and its viewpoint offered a challenging climb, rewarded by sweeping views of the Tam Coc valley below—a sight that took our breath away.
On our final day, we transferred from our hotel in Hanoi back to Noi Bai International Airport, reflecting on our incredible journey. Vietnam's diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage had left an indelible mark on our hearts, making this a trip we would cherish forever.
Heaven on Vietnam
Most guides to Ninh Binh (or the town of Tam Coc) seem to mention the same tips, often based on a day trip or one-night stay. While you can see some of the highlights on a quick trip, I stayed in Ninh Binh for 4 days, letting me get a complete picture. I highly recommend at least 3 days to anyone. Don’t just go for sightseeing, lose your self riding around the green fields. You will love it. #vietnam #ninhbinh #traveling

Mountains and Caves Galore in Ninh Binh 🇻🇳
Ninh Binh is serene and not to be missed when in Vietnam. Definitely go here to get your dose of nature and if you’re fascinated by caves.
Just a few hours drive from Hanoi centre, make sure you book a comfortable car to commute.Stay here for 2 nights to explore the little town. I was short on time so I booked a day tour for peace of mind. Though it took all day, a day tour was more than enough as I’d see more mountains and caves in Halong Bay.
My favourite was the Trang An boat road. Gave me an hour to appreciate the beautiful views, reflect and felt a sense of peace.
There are restaurants that serve good food around the area for lunch. Most do buffet style with various Asian cuisine.
Don’t skip Ninh Binh! North Vietnam is absolutely gorgeous and the highlight of the country.

The Beautiful Bai Dinh Pagoda 🇻🇳
This time i want to share about Bai Dinh Temple or Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh City, Vietnam. This place is one of the most famous & visited temple in Ninh Binh City, attracting many Buddhists and visitors to come here.
This pagoda is renowned as one of the biggest temples in Southeast Asia right now. Bai Dinh Pagoda's name means meaning towards Mount Dinh, the place where heroic events took place in Vietnamese history.
Sadly when i came here it was raining all day long, so the sky is not clear. Im sure when the weather good, this temple will looks so beautiful. To visit this temple, you neet to use electric car first to reach the entrance gate of the temple. The temple area is also so big, you need at least 4 hours to visit them all.

Tamcoc (Tamcoc) or Halong Bay is a boat trip
with a local rowing boat, amidst the beautiful atmosphere on both sides of the river, through the community with crystal clear water. When far from the community, you will find mountains and cliffs surrounded by green trees and a boat trip through 3 caves, which is the origin of the word Tamcoc in Vietnamese. The boat fee is 150,000 dong per person.
The highlight of this place is the rowers, most of whom use their feet to paddle, which is a strange sight for us.
And for anyone who comes here, it is recommended to bring a hat or umbrella, because the sun is quite strong. But it is definitely worth the beauty you get to see.
There is also an activity, cycling around the city and the mountain and rice fields. Chill and enjoy https://maps.app.goo.gl/6dKDSSoFChN4Q1Rj9

Ninh Binh
Although it is a small province, Ninh Binh has a very diverse terrain: mountains, plains, and coastal areas with all the nuances of miniature Vietnam. With three-quarters of the area being hills, diverse karst terrain, rich flora and fauna, many tourist resorts have been formed with beautiful natural landscapes, attracting tourists, famous as: Tam Coc - Bich Cave, Cuc Phuong National Park, Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, Yen Thang Lake Eco-tourism Area, Dong Thai Lake, Thung Nham Bird Garden, Thung Nang, Thien Ha Cave, Kim Son coastal area, hot mineral springs… Especially, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 2014, the first mixed heritage of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.#ninhbinh #trip #vietnamtravel
Bird Park in Tam Coc - many butterflies but no birds
The park itself is big and nice, there are boat tours available.
Apparently, we have not seen any birds there, but we enjoyed walking in this park, and there were so many butterflies.
One more highlight is the mermaid cave, but be careful as the ceiling is very low. You have to go in a kneeling position there. It's nice and cool inside.
Also there are many scenic photo spots.

Ninh Binh is insanely good!
Ninh Binh is located around 90 km. away from Hanoi. I visited Hanoi for 5 days and was wondering if there is a beautiful natural place to go. I came up with Nih Binh since it is known as 'the inland cousin of Ha Long Bay' and it was a filming location of Kong: Skull Island (2017). I took a van directly from Hanoi which takes 1.5 hours and stayed there for one night. I took a boat cave tour at Tràng An to see hidden temples and lots of beautiful scenery. Also, in the morning, I went to Mua Cave for hiking. Although it was tiring with steps, the view from the top is great.

Ninh Binh, VN - Sunsets, Boats and Mountains
Getting There
Ninh Binh is located in North Vietnam, around 3 hours from Hanoi. There is no airport, so to get here you’ll need to take a bus or a train from wherever you are currently at in Vietnam. For example, we got a bus from Hanoi to Ninh Binh for £7 each, but buses and trains also go from other places such as Hue.
Attractions
Ninh Binh is a beautiful place to visit, the landscape is covered with mountains and trees.
1) Go on a rowing boat tour in Tam Coc and explore caves and pagodas.
2) Visit Bich Dong pagoda, which is nestled into the mountain side.
3) Climb 500 steps to the top of Lying Dragon Mountain, located at Mua Cave.
4) Cycle through the rice fields and villages for unforgettable views.
Hotels
There’s not too many options in Ninh Binh, but they are good.
1) Lys Homestay.
Run by an amazing family, the rooms are clean and full of natural light. The location is great and is near all the restaurants and shops. If you need to rent a bicycle or scooter, you can do that here!
2) Banana Tree Hostel
A bit more social and upbeat, this is also a great place to stay. It’s located in the same area as Lys Homestay, so you get the same great experience!
Food & Restaurants
For us, this is where Ninh Binh lacked a bit of quality. However, there is still some decent options to choose from.
1) T-Pub Restaurant
For some amazing freshly made pizza!
2) Lantern Restaurant
For some great Vietnamese food!
3) Pig Family Cafe & Restaurant
For some cheap food and cheap beer!

Ninh Binh, Hanoi Vietnam 🏔️⛅
Ninh Binh, Hanoi Vietnam 🏔️⛅
.
Today, we will take you up north to visit Ninh Binh (Ninh Binh). It is very beautiful, very natural, surrounded by mountains. It is another place that should not be missed. We came on this trip with a tour. The tour took us to stop at Bich Dong Pagoda as the last stop. It was very beautiful, impressive, and worth the trip. But to get to the top, we had to walk up about 500 steps. It was very sweaty. The view was impressive. It was a pity that we had very little time. It seemed like a rushed trip. We might have to make time. I was afraid that it would not be worth it. The view from the top was worth it. Seeing it made me feel less tired. But when we finished walking down, everyone was soaked in sweat.
.
The trip to Ninh Binh (Ninh Binh) takes about 1.30-2.00 hours from Hanoi city center. It depends on the tour we choose. Or you can rent a car to drive there, which is definitely fun. But our trip was a bit rushed. Luckily, we booked it just in time. We also got to see the temple. Thung Nang boat trip, cycling is a great way to spend the whole day. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time when we arrived. I recommend bringing a raincoat or an umbrella. It would be great.
