Vientiane greeted us with a glorious sky serving as backdrop to the monumental Patuxai, or Victory Gate. Even from afar, the structure had an air of importance about it, and upon closer inspection, its ancient artwork carried stories of struggles and strength. I was blown away by the magnificence of it all.
