[Kanagawa & Shizuoka] One-day train trip from Tokyo🚃
Atami is about 40 minutes by Shinkansen and about 2 hours by local train from Tokyo, making it perfect for a weekend trip.
It's a place you can enjoy even on a day trip, so here's a one-day plan.
①Nebukawa Station (second photo)
If you're traveling by Tokaido Line local train, be sure to get off at Nebukawa Station.
The moment you get off the train, the blue sea spreads out before your eyes.
The station is small and cute with no station staff, so be sure to stop by!!
You can see the sea from the tracks without leaving the ticket gate, so if it's sunny, get off there💁♀️
Then, when you arrive at Atami, the first thing to do is to eat your way around the shopping district.
It's also famous for its gourmet food, such as the famous seafood bowl and Atami pudding, so be sure to wander around!
② Nonaka no Yu (2nd photo)
One of the Seven Hot Springs in Atami, Nonaka no Yu♨️
About 20 minutes from Atami Station, steam suddenly appeared on the slope, and there was a slight sulfur smell.
The hot springs on the side of the road were very nice, giving it a hot spring town feel.
I wanted to go on a walk around the hot springs lol
③ Kinomiya Shrine (1st & 4th photo)
A shrine famous for the god of good fortune and good luck.
It is the head temple of the Kinomiya Shrines, which have about 44 shrines nationwide!!
Many people visit for the first shrine visit of the year during the New Year⛩️
The specialty of this shrine is the large camphor tree that is over 2,000 years old.
The trunk is said to be 24 meters thick...
It was a sacred tree that felt like a great power.
By the way, it is said that walking around the trunk once will extend your life by one year, so please walk around it several times to receive the benefits 😚
There are many photogenic spots in the precincts, so it is popular with young people!
④ Cafe and shop tour
Atami has many coffee shops, stylish cafes, small markets and shops.
Coffee shops in particular serve authentic coffee, so they are recommended for a hot break at the end of a tiring day in Atami.
Atami has many slopes, so your feet will be sore from walking a lot lol
Please stop by a cafe or somewhere else occasionally to take a break and spend an elegant holiday ~
