#summervacay If you're looking for a refreshing coastal escape, a day trip to the Go-Gunsan Archipelago (고군산군도) in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, is a fantastic choice! This area is made up of 63 islands, with 16 inhabited and 47 untouched. I only had time to visit two, but they offered stunning views and fun activities. My Island Hopping Highlights: 1. Seonyudo Island (선유도) Seonyudo is well-known for its beautiful beach (Seonyudo Beach) and exciting zip-line (짚와이어). Giant Crab Statue: On the sandy beach, there's a huge shuttle crab sculpture that's a popular photo spot – everyone was lining up for a picture! Zip-line Thrills: I saw the zip-line (pictured in image 5) and it looked exhilarating! It seems to be around 20,000 KRW per person for that "flying through the air" experience. Dining & Parking: Near Seonyudo Beach, there's a great food street. If your meal costs over 10,000 KRW, you can ask the owner for a parking coupon, giving you two hours of free parking. I found the overall prices here to be quite reasonable. Island Exploration: For those wanting to explore more of the island, you can rent electric tricycles. However, if you're already driving your own car, I don't think renting one is necessary. 2. Jangjado Island (장자도) Jangjado Island is pretty charming! Sweet Treats: I noticed a whole street lined with hotteok (sweet Korean pancake) stalls. You can find plenty of delicious snacks here! Free Parking: Similar to Seonyudo, if you buy something from a shop, you can often ask the owner for a free parking coupon. While I only managed to visit these two islands, I know Jangjado Island (장자도) also boasts the impressive Jangjado Bridge (which connects to Seonyudo, making island hopping easy) and a peak called Daejangbong (대장봉), where you can hike up for a panoramic view of the entire archipelago. Dalat is a hidden gem that you should include in your Ho Chi Minh City trip itinerary. Located 300 km from HCMC, Dalat is just an hour flight or an overnight bus away from HCMC. One of my favourite destinations in Dalat is Datanla Waterfall. We visited Datanla Waterfall after visiting Truc Lam Buddhist Monastery located by Tuyen Lam Lake. It was a short taxi ride away from the exit of the monastery. Datanla Waterfall is part of the Datanla Tourist Area, which offers various recreational activities for visitors. A unique and thrilling way to reach the waterfall is by taking the alpine coaster. We got the opportunity to descend through the lush forest to reach the base of the waterfall. After visiting the waterfall, we took the alpine coaster up to the same starting point. If you are a thrill-seeker like me, you should not miss the High Rope Course & Zipline located next to the alpine coaster. It was the best obstacle and zipline course that I have ever had. I got plenty of opportunities to soar above the lush greenery and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape as I zip from one platform to another. This is one of the best zip lines I've had! This is Loboc Ecotourism Adventure Park that features zip lines and cable car rides while overlooking the Loboc River. This is located in Loboc town on Bohol Island. The zipline is 520 meters long and 120 meters high. It is a full-apron wrap zipline where tourists lie belly-down. The entire zip-course will take you above the forested mountain slope and the Loboc River. And it only take few minutes. I honestly wanted to go for another round but my friend was waiting. You have to wait in line to take turns zipping. Getting there: From the city, take a tricycle to the Dao bus terminal and get on a bus bound for Loboc and Carmen. The highlight of Southern Laos is the Tad Fane zipline. A 220-meter zipline because it was originally a volcano crater!!!! We intended to come to Southern Laos because we wanted to play zipline here. We had been planning to do this for a long time before Covid came. When we had the chance to come to Southern Laos, this was a place we couldn't miss. As someone who felt like trying it once in their life, when we arrived, we had to try it. There are 4 long ziplines, 1 short zipline, and walking on the zipline. It goes in a circle with a little bit of hiking. It's like you're out of breath, lol. But the staff took very good care of us. They were there in front and behind us, took pictures, and chatted a lot. If you don't want to go alone, you can go with them. If you want to play, I recommend getting travel insurance for overseas trips. Because when you play, you have to fill in the company name and contact number in case of emergency. It's not expensive. Just buy it per trip. It's convenient. Tad Fane is located at KM38 on the way to Pakseong. There is a resort where you can stay, but you can also just come to visit. During the public holiday, we have a chance to experience zipline in Borneo Happy Farm, Kuching. It is one of the best adventure activities there. If you’re up for some adventure in Chiang Mai, this zipline and coaster ride experience is a must-do! We were picked up and taken on a thrilling course of 12 zip lines—such an adrenaline rush! After that, we got to ride the coaster twice, which was so much fun. Lunch was included, and you could choose between traditional Thai dishes or coffee and cake. We went for the stir-fried rice with chicken, which was delicious. Just a heads-up: some activities have a weight limit of 100 kg, so keep that in mind when booking. It was a fantastic day out and only took about 4 hours, leaving us plenty of time to chill by the pool in the afternoon.
