Tomb of Napolean
The Tomb of Napolean was not on my list of places to visit when I arrived in Paris, but it was one of the most memorable sites I stopped by during my 3-day trip. The tomb is truly fit for an emperor, with an impressive gold dome, a beautifully decorated chapel, a sarcophagus, statues, and accompanying tombs of family members and military leaders and heroes. Napolean’s Tomb is also attached to a Military Museum, which is fitting for remembering one of the greatest military generals in history.

Tombs of the Kings !!
Wherever you see fort, then they should remind you that they have served an important part in the history. Also in the same way, tombs. Forts are generally designed to keep the king at an elevated position which represents that he is above all the people of his country; giving him an immortal status. These tombs play an important role in keeping that status alive. Like the mummies (preserved bodies of kings/queens) in Egypt, places were built for Kings in India. And these tombs come with such magnanimity and artistic work in that. Mostly these tombs are built when the king is alive, and the tomb will be of his taste (like nowadays buying that premium burial ground for ourself). Situated near to the Golconda fort, these tombs has bodies of kings who once lived in that fort. If you look from the top of that fort, you can easily see people coming at a distance of atleast 5 kms; which provides a strategic advantage against any enemy attacks. And later when the time is over, the kings are placed inside these tombs. Symbolizing life and death. #urbanexplorer #leaveyourmark #indiatravel #tombs

Gothic tombs made for an important family in Verona!
#aprilblooms
The Scaliger Tombs are a remarkable group of five Gothic monuments in Verona, Italy. They commemorate the Scaliger family, who powerfully ruled Verona from the 13th to the late 14th century. Situated in a courtyard just outside the Church of Santa Maria Antica, near the Piazza dei Signori in the heart of Verona's historic center, these #tombs stand as exceptional examples of Gothic art.
Uniquely, one of the first tombs built is the one built into the church wall above a doorway rather than being freestanding. You can see it in the 4th picture I took.
I recommend checking the opening times ahead, because on my visit it was already closed. However, it it still beautiful from the outside.
