This one-day trip to Keelung was absolutely fulfilling—Peace Island is truly worth visiting! From Keelung Train Station, take Bus 101 for about 20 minutes, and you'll arrive directly at Peace Island Geopark. However, I personally recommend wandering around the Keelung Harbor area first—take some photos of the harbor scenery or grab some snacks before heading out! Before entering Peace Island, make sure to purchase your tickets online. Not only does it save time, but you can also sign up for the early bird guided tour, where a professional guide explains everything on-site. It's super interesting, and the rock formations are incredibly photogenic—some resemble tofu, others look like turtles. You'll want to snap photos of them all! The park's route is well-planned, with clear signs along the way. There's even a pavilion in the middle of the park, and I highly recommend taking a break there. Feel the sea breeze and listen to the sound of the waves—it's incredibly soothing! You might not want to leave! As you continue walking, you'll reach a water play area. Be sure to wear non-slip shoes to enjoy splashing around and wading in the water—it’s so refreshing! And don’t worry if you get wet; there are foot-washing and shower facilities here. Plus, there’s a shop nearby where you can buy ice pops. Playing in the water and then enjoying an ice pop—life doesn’t get better than this! Afterward, take the same bus back to Keelung and make sure to visit Miaokou Night Market for dinner! Seafood soup, tempura, butter crab, and the famous nutritious sandwich—everything looks so tempting. It’s the perfect way to end the day! The path is shaded and serene, offering a comfortable environment, especially on summer weekdays when there are fewer visitors. You can quietly immerse yourself in the sounds of nature and the lush greenery. If you take your time to walk and snap photos, you can spend around 30 minutes to an hour here—perfect for relaxation without feeling overly tired. The restroom facilities here are impressively clean and even provide toilet paper, making it a great spot for families or anyone looking for a hassle-free way to connect with nature.

This time, I visited the Keelung Art Museum to see Japanese artist Yuichi Hirako's first large-scale solo exhibition in Taiwan, "Beyond Ideal Landscapes." Inspired by the mountain and sea landscapes of Keelung, the exhibition is divided into three main themes: "Town," "Mountains," and "Ocean," creating a dreamy and spiritual artistic journey. The works are based on the perspective that all things have spirits, featuring tree characters with foliage on their heads and dressed in various outfits. During the eleventh year of the Guangxu Emperor's reign, Liu Mingchuan, the Governor of Taiwan, actively developed Taiwan, promoted the Westernization Movement, and advocated for the establishment of railways. In the thirteenth year of Guangxu, he was granted permission to establish the 'General Bureau of Railways and Commerce of Taiwan'. The first section from Keelung through Taipei to Hsinchu was constructed, among which the tunnel project at Shiqiuling in Keelung was the most challenging. Work began in the spring of the fourteenth year of Guangxu and was not completed until the summer of the sixteenth year, taking a total of thirty months to break through; the Shiqiuling Tunnel is approximately 235 meters long, the first railway-exclusive tunnel in Taiwan, and the only railway tunnel from the Qing Dynasty period. If you want to sleep till you are full and want to experience the literary and bookish atmosphere, this is the place to go!
