Hong Ya Dong
Hongyadong (Chinese: 洪崖洞; pinyin: hóng yá dòng; literally “Flood Cave”) is an 11-story stilt-like structure in the Jiefangbei business district of Chongqing. The structures are built into a cliff jutting out onto the southern bank of the Jialing River and are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chongqing. On May Day 2018, 142,000 visitors were reported to have visited Hongyadong.

Located on the banks of the Jialing River in Chongqing, southwest China, the “#Hongyadong” (Hongyadong) is a large shopping mall complex built into a cliff, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, souvenir shops, and a hotel. Hongyadong is famous for its ancient Chinese architecture, consisting of Chinese buildings, caves, mountains, waterfalls, pavilions, walkways, bridges, and viewpoints. It is also a meeting point for Chongqing residents at night, a viewpoint of the Jialing River, and another symbol of the city that tourists should not miss to stop by and take pictures.
This area has a history of more than 2,300 years. In the past, it was a fortress of the Ba Kingdom, with a culture called "Bayu". Today, Hongyadong still has a cultural exhibition zone. In addition, this area was also considered an early port in ancient China.
Tourists can come here to buy souvenirs to take back home. Chongqing's famous food is spices, especially Mala, an ingredient that Sichuanese people like to add to their food. It has a spicy taste and a strong smell. It is popularly used in stir-fried and stewed dishes.
