The Incredible Journey Through Time in Petra, Jordan
The Petra is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We had two choices: walk two kilometers to the city center, or take a horse carriage to get there. I chose to walk and it was a good decision. We passed through many meandering paths, seeing sandstones that morphed in different shades of sienna and different shapes of curves on our way.
The tour guide gracefully showed us the way on foot. He explained that, in order to stop the water of the valley flooding the siq leading to the Al Khazmeh, the ancient people built canals and water pipes to direct the water. We saw bas reliefs along the siq, with the image of a man leading a fleet of camels stone-carved onto the sandstones. The natural contours of these red and yellow sandstones were a wonder itself.
I became used to the light human hand prints on the way, and thus I was blown away when we reached the Al Khazmeh. There standing proudly and prominently, the city center had high pillars supporting a beautiful Romanesque façade, hewn and chiseled into the massive sandstone structure. It was the treasury of the city. In the middle an opening led into some kind of depth that was kept out of bounds to us. I was simply unprepared for this view and very much awed.

Mutianyu Great Wall
The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience one of the new seven workers of the world.
I recommend you to go there early in the morning to avoid crowds. We went there around 8 am and it wasn’t busy at all. However, on our way out around 12 am there was a long queue with many people waiting.
Mutianyu offers a very peaceful and pleasant experience. The architecture is well-preserved and it is surrounded by greenery. Definitely the panoramic views are breathtaking.
Highly recommend it!

2023: a year to remember! What’s netx? 🔜✈️
2023 was a beautiful year! I had the opportunity to visit many new places.
In January I went to Jordan. While I was there, I had the opportunity to visit Petra, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. January being a non-high season period, there were few people and it was beautiful. Petra is definitely a magical place to see at least once in a lifetime.
In April instead I had the opportunity to go to Beijing. Here too I saw another wonder of the modern world, The Great Wall of China. But the thing that left me most shocked was the Terracotta army which is located in the city of Xi'An.
I hope to have other opportunities to travel in 2024 as I had in 2023. The destinations I would like to visit this year are New Zealand and French Polynesia…so Oceania is my next goal 🔜✈️

One of Seven Wonders 🇨🇳
Mutainyu Great Wall experience is definitely meant to fulfill your touristy spirit. Great for pictures and being able to say you did the damn thing. Both the chair lift up and the toboggan down made my inner child happy. Also, if you are someone who likes to go off the beaten path, there are cute hiking trails with picnic areas along side the Great Wall. One of the seven wonders of the world 🗺️ ⭐️
If visiting Yucatan’s part of Mexico, from Cancun to Tulum, Chichen Itza is a must stop! This ancient city is filled with a thousand years of history and it is just amazing.
Pro tip: get there early, right when they open (8am). You will avoid crowds (better photos and less people) and high temperatures (it gets super hot and humid).

Giza Pyramids - Ancient wonder, Egypt 🇪🇬
Visiting the Giza Pyramids in Egypt was an absolute dream come true. As I stood in awe before these ancient marvels, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder for the incredible craftsmanship and rich history they embody.
This is the last of the seven wonders of the Old world still standing today.
✨Top 5 Tips:
1️⃣ Consider visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy the pyramids in a more serene atmosphere.
2️⃣ Hire a knowledgeable local guide who can provide historical and cultural insights about the pyramids and help navigate the site.
3️⃣ Be prepared for vendors and touts who may approach you offering souvenirs or camel rides. Negotiate prices firmly and be cautious of scams.
4️⃣ Respect the rules and regulations of the site, which may include restrictions on climbing certain pyramids or entering specific areas.
5️⃣ Take your time to explore the complex and appreciate the pyramids from different angles. There are photo opportunities at various viewpoints.

Great Wall
Great Wall of China 🇨🇳 …
This area is secluded with minimal tourists. This part of the Great Wall is away from civilization so be careful.
This area is gorgeous and amazing, one of the best experiences I had in China❤️.

That wall that divides past and future
Visiting the Great Wall of China definitely feels like a milestone. You read so much about this world’s heritage site, that experiencing it feels beyond anything you can dream off.
The Badaling section of the Great Wall is the most popular, dates from Ming dynasty and its highest point is 1015m (Beibalou). Yanqing county is located 80km away from Beijing downtown. There are few stores and restaurants in the base of the Wall, Subway can be the easiest option considering you are about to walk for hours.
You can reach the summit by walking or taking a cable car. Be prepared for a long walk around the wall, difficulty levels may depend on walk the side you chose to explore. Both ways, scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Even more if you consider you are now part of ancient history and one of the seven wonders of the world. Even more surprisingly, internet there is great.
Remember you have to go back over your steps to get down to the wall’s base. Now, the exciting part of leaving is that you get to do it by riding a toboggan!! Of course, the cars could be as fast as the other people in front of you are going, but worth every moment of it.

The Seven Wonders of the World, a once in a lifetime retreat
The Great Wall of China, one of the seven wonders of the world is a magnificent view and hike up. The Mutianyu section of the wall offers a cableway up and toboggan ride down. In summer the heat is scorching so make sure to bring you own water or pay an expensive price tag of the water since the shop is on top of the great wall. It was a great hike if you have the stamina, just make sure to know your limit because you need to go to the specific queue to ride the toboggan. The ride was not that memorable since you need to queue for it and the ride down was just a minute or two. The main attraction is still the great wall so make sure to have your own expectation. To be honest, I regretted the time I wasted on queueing for the ride since I was already tired after queueing under the scorching sun. It took 2 hours of queueing to go up, then another 1 hour of queue of riding the toboggan. This was not on China's public holiday, so expect much longer queue and people on their holiday. Still once in a lifetime experience, though next time I'll prefer to take the cable car or other section of the great wall.

Great Wall of China
Our visit to Beijing was because my daughter wanted to see the Great wall of China. And since young, we kept hearing older people say, all Chinese must visit the Great Wall of China at least once. Mutianyu was the part of the wall that less people visited but to our surprise, we took double the time to reach by car from Beijing city. With less time at the Wall, we only managed to conquer one tower before we quickly get down to get back to the city which took us another three hours. Lesson of the day is to visit the Great Wall not on a Sunday or on a school holiday. Attached are some photos I took, some history about mutianyu and the toboggan slide that we didn’t manage to use due to the long queue which will take another two hour. #mutianyugreatwall #thegreatwallofchina #sevenwondersoftheworld
Brilliant Badaling 🧱🇨🇳
A must do for every visitor of China is to head to one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China. One of the easiest ways to get that is from Beijing to the Badaling section of the Great Wall. To get there you can simply take a Didi taxi from Central Beijing for around 100 UN and it only takes an hour or so to get there. Having been two times to this section of the Great Wall even on a cloudy day it is so beautiful but incredibly busy. The simplest way to get there and the least exhausting is to take the cable car up and turn right to follow the wall along as the left is much more uphill And also a lot busier. Make sure to bring lots of water and some snacks in case you get tired as this can be quite a long day. Nevertheless, you can get some absolutely brilliant photos and experience the majestic wonder of the Great Wall of China. #historicallandmarks #unescoworldheritage #unesco #sevenwondersoftheworld #greatwall #greatwallofchina #beijing #beijingtrip #china #chinatrip #landmark
