Easy. 📍How to buy tickets to enter • I was secretly impressed with the trip app because at first I planned to buy it at the event, but when I checked the price, it was cheaper, so I decided to buy it at the train station. In less than ten minutes, the ticket was confirmed and I could use my passport. • I bought a round-trip ticket including the cable car, as shown in the last picture. The price is for 2 people. I have to say that I don't really love climbing. Buy like me 555 📍Entrance • After buying a ticket, walk to the cable car station on the right from the train station, about 200 meters. • After scanning your bags and luggage, there will be a ticket exchange counter on the right. You can exchange your passport at number 1-2 on the left. If you buy at the event, you can buy it at the same place, number 3-4. • Once you have your ticket, each person, you can queue up to get on the cable car. Let me tell you, it's easy. • The cable car ride doesn't take long, about 15 minutes. When you reach the top, you will see the Great Wall of China waiting to greet you. 📍My version of walking around the Great Wall of China - Why my version? Because I have already booked a return ticket. - To put it simply, after walking out of the cable car station, There will be a place to sit and decide whether to walk straight or turn around and climb the Great Wall. - I had about 4 hours because I had booked a train back at 13.19, so I decided to turn around and climb the Great Wall. Walk up the hard way first. - The path is quite good, but there are no stairs all the way. It's a ramp with handrails. It's steep like a flat path. When I reached the first step, I was out of breath. 555 - I gritted my teeth and climbed the stairs until I reached the resting area on top, which was a bit higher. It wasn't a fort, but a resting area without stairs. After taking pictures, I went down. I changed sides to the straight path instead. 🤣 - When I reached the decision area, I changed to the straight path. It wasn't that steep. It was a relief. I kept walking and took pictures. It was worth the ticket price. Then I walked back up the cable car. - I didn't walk across the fort or go to another fort. Let's just say that I actually spent a little over 2 hours walking and taking pictures. My legs were almost dragging because I was climbing the ramp. It was the worst. But the view was beautiful. 📍Return trip - When you get to the station from the cable car above, if you haven't booked a return ticket, I recommend checking the time you plan to take the cable car down. Add another 1.30 hours because normally, if you book through Trip, it should be more than 45 minutes from the booked time. So I roughly estimate it to be an hour and a half. - Another reason Why add that much? Because it takes about half an hour to get to the station. - Wait to be called again before the train arrives here for about 20 minutes. Because it's quite far from the platform to the platform. And wait for about 40 minutes before being called. I think it's easy, not too long and not too risky. This is recommended for people who have little time and want to take pictures of the Great Wall of China. Price per Person - around 140rmb/person Rating - 4/5 stars So here’s the thing, I understand I’m in a foreign country but I would have thought in one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world there would be clearer advice on seeing the wall. The train is a cheap and efficient way to go from Beijing to see the wall. The train arrives deep underground at Badaling, just that was an ear popping experience! We paid 500rmb for the 3 of us to go up the north (?) section in a cable car and honestly it was not great or worth the money. There were sooo many people, it was awful! You could not get a sense of the wall. People elbowed you and pushed you. It was rough. And yet, if you walked less than a kilometer down the road you could ride an awesome funicular to the south (?) point for 420rmb and this wall part was empty and beautiful! No one tells you this, I think the north part is higher but honestly the wall parts are very similar, when empty - spectacular! We decided to take our daughter on a hike. The weather was great. The sky was clear, so rain couldn’t deter us from a hike. Didn’t expect the hike to be part of the Great Wall of China. I had no knowledge of there being different entrance points to the wall until I researched how to get to the wall. once arriving it was fairly easy to get to the entrance from the shuttle. There were rows of shops leading up to the entryway of the wall. once we entered the wall and started climbing things got interesting. There were many steps, slopes, and breaks. Great Wall of China - Badaling is the most visited section of the Great Wall of China, approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Beijing. Please, note THE MOST VISITED. Yes it is very beautiful there, the views are breathtaking and just realization of where are you standing is just insane BUT the amount of people walking around was just a little bit too much for me 😵‍💫😁 luckily after me and friends walked along the wall for a while the number of people has drastically decreased. #thisischina Badaling is one of the most common access point to the Great Wall. There’s a long distance bus from the city center that takes you directly there for 12 RMB only. As far as I remember the last bus is at noon! We prioritised arriving early at the bus station. It’s a fun ride as you can catch views of the Wall on the way, but it was also quite lingering. The road was congested and we spent some time stuck in a traffic jam. Nevertheless, as soon as we reached, we have to walk a bit of a slope up to the ticket office. There are also a bunch of restaurants, souvenir shops and beverage shops. Tip 👉🏼 Some souvenirs are ridiculously overpriced. It’s time to bargain! 😁I haggled with sellers and got some at decent prices. Otherwise, the views from the wall are unlimited and incredible!🌳☁️☀️ Millions of opportunities for pictures 📸 and the fortress towers along the wall are good spots to chill in the shade! Visiting the Great Wall of China definitely feels like a milestone. You read so much about this world’s heritage site, that experiencing it feels beyond anything you can dream off. The Badaling section of the Great Wall is the most popular, dates from Ming dynasty and its highest point is 1015m (Beibalou). Yanqing county is located 80km away from Beijing downtown. There are few stores and restaurants in the base of the Wall, Subway can be the easiest option considering you are about to walk for hours. You can reach the summit by walking or taking a cable car. Be prepared for a long walk around the wall, difficulty levels may depend on walk the side you chose to explore. Both ways, scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Even more if you consider you are now part of ancient history and one of the seven wonders of the world. Even more surprisingly, internet there is great. Remember you have to go back over your steps to get down to the wall’s base. Now, the exciting part of leaving is that you get to do it by riding a toboggan!! We enjoyed taking a cable car ride all the way to the top of Badaling Great Wall. We walked further up and walked all the way down to enjoy the views and took a lot of pictures. There was a handle so it was safe. We enjoyed our family bonding! There was an option to slide down but we prefer to walk and enjoy the cool air and view. To get there, just take the subway line 8 or line 10 to Beitucheng station. Take Exit B and you will see a large bright blue sign. Walk a little bit to the right, about 50 meters, and you will reach the starting point of the bus line 877 Beitucheng bus station. You will see people queuing clearly. The first trip is at 06.30. When you reach the Badaling Great Wall, it is not far to the ticket booth for the Great Wall. The ticket price is 40 Yen (20 Yen for seniors). If you want to go up and down the Great Wall by taking a small tram called Toboggan, it is even more convenient. You can buy a ticket for going up and down the small tram for another 100 Yen per person, which is paid together with the wall admission fee. The tram boarding and disembarking station is at Fort 4, while if you want to use the cable car, you can go higher to Fort 8. The round trip cable car fare is 140 Yen per person, but if you just go up and walk down, it is only 100 Yen. The bus stop for Bus 877 on the way back is near the point you came from, ending at Beitucheng station. By the way, Bus 877 picks up and drops off at the origin and destination. There is no boarding and disembarking along the way. When you get back to your destination, if you have time, you can walk to Shichahai Park, which has a beautiful lake. There are many restaurants and cafes around, including Beihai Park, which has a very beautiful view. Then we took the high-speed train, which took only 19 minutes to reach Badaling. We quickly took the first cable car at 07:30 to Fort 8 and walked down to Fort 1. ⛩️ The walkway on the wall in the morning was very cold. The wind was so strong that my face almost went numb, but it was so cool because the view was so beautiful. At first, I saw something floating and thought it was pollen, so I quickly told Snow to put on a mask. ...but after a while, it started to feel colder and thicker. When we reached Fort 1, that was it — we looked at each other and shouted together, “Hey, this is snow!!!” Yes, the first snow on the trip fell unexpectedly while walking on the Great Wall of China 😍✨

November was very sunny in Beijing during my stay 🥰 I was so lucky ! There weren't many people, so it was nice and comfortable walking on the Wall. I wouldnt recommend to go there during rain or snow, because its very slippery. May be dangerous! But still there are some options not to go too far and stay near the cable car station or the tobonggan station, it is also beautiful there 😍 I used Tobonggan to climb the Wall, it was nice and funny, but the way back was much more exciting! You can get to the Badaling Wall on your own without a tour and without speaking Chinese. It was quite easy. Subway station Jishuitan, bus 877, follow the signs. In November 15 of us walked the Great wall of China with Inspired Adventures to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia. We walked for 6 days-some days up to 9 hours at a time. The wall is Great in tourist areas,however,in many parts it is in poor condition and dangerous. It is hard work that bloody wall and I would not swap the experience for all the tea in,well, China ! I had an overwhelming feeling of WOW I have walked the Great Wall of China. Built over hundreds of years to keep enemies out it is steep and uneven,some parts have no sides! Getting There - You can reach the location by bus from beijing railway station, it takes about two hours, or taxi which will cost you around 180-200 yuan. The train option is also there but you need to prebook it because of the high demand. Went in December 2018 Took subway to Jishutan station and,walked 20 mins to Deshengmen tower to take bus 877 cny12 per pax. same fare for child and adult. journey takes around one hour. Paid admission and pulley fee at main entrance. The pulley took us to 4th station of the Badaling Great Wall. We climbed till the 8th station and return back by pulley. Do not go during weekend as it will be crowded. Do note last bus departibg from Deshengmen is 11am and last bus departing Badaling is 4.30pm.#badaling #greatwallofchiba
