[Kanazawa🇯🇵] Immerse yourself in another world - HIMITO
I went there because I saw it on Instagram and it looked beautiful.
But it's a place that left quite an impression on me.
First of all, you can't bring anything into the store except valuables, and you're told to put your luggage in a basket outside, but it's a simple luggage storage area that just covers your luggage with a cloth, like the ones you often see in hot spring changing rooms. I was a little worried, but I went in.
The receptionist was a little quirky.
There is a 1000 yen entrance fee and a photography fee.
I personally thought it was a little expensive 🥹
Just like I saw on Instagram, there was dandelion fluff 360 degrees.
The fluff was packed in the dimly lit store, and I felt its beauty, but also a little scary.
I was told not to touch it, but it was quite close, so you need to walk carefully.
You can taste several types of tea inside the store.
It has a warm and calming taste.
It seems that many people mistake it for a cafe, but it's not a cafe, it's more like a room where you can admire the fluff while drinking tea.
When you leave, they sell small items as a donation.
I bought the cheapest item because there was no atmosphere where I could refuse, but to be honest, I don't think I needed it🥲
It's a beautiful shop, but it's a bit quirky, so I recommend it to those who want a unique experience lol
I don't think I'll be coming back😂

🛤 Nagoya → Kanazawa
This time we didn’t stay in Nagoya too long, just as a stopover, from Nagoya to Kanazawa. Not long after our departure, we passed a rest stop in what looked like a European-style town, which turned out to be in the plateau area, nearly a two-hour drive from downtown Nagoya.
🚍 Kanazawa Transportation Tips | "Kanazawa Bus One Day Pass"
After arriving in Kanazawa, we bought a “Kanazawa Tour Bus One Day Pass”, which is definitely recommended if you plan to take more than three buses a day! The face design of the ticket is also very thoughtful, obviously designed, holding the ticket will feel the journey plus points ~
🍣 Stop 1 | Omicho Market・Seafood Paradise
Omi-cho Market is definitely one of the must-visit attractions in Kanazawa, known as the “Kitchen of the Sea of Japan”. This time we tried the super full sashimi, fresh seaweed, and oysters, each was incredibly fresh, the best seafood I’ve ever had, no exaggeration!

The charms and stamp books lined up at the shrine office are also polka dotted
and very cute💕And they are lined up in a row of colorful colors.
The polka dot charms, which have the meaning of "settling in harmony", come in 45 colors for the general charms alone.
There are other photogenic spots...I will introduce them in the next post.
The 101 vermilion-painted torii gates are also popular!
101 is a number that represents "prosperity" worldwide and is 50m long.
It is said that when seen from above, it looks like the character for "person."
It is filled with the wish that people will cherish the connections between people.

The distinctive brick bridge is the "Kotobashi" bridge, which is inspired by the koto, and there are also "Biwajima" and "Shojima" islands, which are inspired by the shape of the island.
When the new leaves come out, the autumn leaves around the pond are reflected, creating a spectacular view.

Oyama Shrine, known as the "stained glass shrine" for its unique shrine gate
In 2023, it celebrated its 150th anniversary.
A photo spot was prepared to mark the occasion.
It seems that this distinctive shrine gate was made to attract people.
Initially, the number of visitors was far less than expected, so they decided to create something eye-catching to attract visitors, and so the innovative shrine gate was made.

Higashi Chaya District is a charming streetscape that has continued since the Edo period in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture!
Beautiful buildings with latticed doors line the street, and you can enjoy an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time♪
We especially recommend the "tea experience at a teahouse"! Enjoying matcha and Japanese sweets at a traditional teahouse is the perfect memory for your trip. Also, at night, the lights of lanterns light up the streetscape, creating an even more fantastic atmosphere. Be sure to visit and experience Kanazawa's traditional culture!

[Ishikawa/Kanazawa] A popular miso ramen restaurant in Kanazawa
🍜Menya Taiga
📍Ishikawa Kanazawa (5 minutes walk from Kanazawa Station)
I went there a few years ago and it was so delicious that I definitely have to go back! 💗
This time I ordered
🍜Miso Ramen (980 yen)
🥚TKG with bright red egg (280 yen)
📝
Before, the drink you had before the ramen was a special vegetable juice, but it has now been changed to ginger juice!
The miso ramen is topped with green laver, ginger, and yuzu, so you can mix it whenever you like 🙆♀️
The refreshing taste of yuzu and the spiciness of ginger are added to make it the best 🔥
The char siu is quite large and very satisfying to eat!
The rich soup is surprisingly light and has a gentle taste 💕
This time I tried the TKG, which was also delicious! ✨
This is my second time eating here, but I still love it💗
The only thing I regret is that I didn't have time and ate in a hurry😢
Next time, I want to line up earlier and enjoy it slowly! I have to go again🙆♀️
✍️I arrived on Saturday after lunchtime, but there was a long line🙆♀️
I waited for about 12-3 groups, and ended up waiting for a little over an hour.
They take your order while you're waiting, so when you sit down, they'll bring it out quickly🙏

[Ishikawa] Kenrokuen Garden illuminated at night ✨ Beautiful Yukitsuri
A winter trip to Kanazawa.
I happened to know that Kenrokuen would be lit up that night, so I went there right before the night-time entrance time 😊
The weather was good that day, and there was still snow on the ground, so it was easy to take photos ☺️
I learned about yukitsuri for the first time. It is done to prevent the branches of trees from breaking when snow accumulates in winter.
The yukitsuri at Kenrokuen seems to be very famous, and a total of 500 gardeners hang them by hand over a month! ! ! ! I was moved.
The lighting was very beautiful 🥹
Of course, I think it's a beautiful view during the day, but the lighting up of the yukitsuri at night is fantastic, so if you have the time, please visit and see it ☺️
Finally, the sixth photo is a cute snow rabbit that someone made? Maybe?
It was in Kenrokuen ❤︎🐰

A journey that brings history to a long-established inn
Kizuya Ryokan quietly sits in Kazuemachi Tea District.
We highly recommend this inn as a base for sightseeing in Kanazawa.
Not only is it in an excellent location, with famous tourist spots such as Higashi Chaya District, Omicho Market, and Kenrokuen Garden, as well as seafood markets, all within a few minutes' walk, but the inn itself is a long-established inn with history and tradition, so you can experience the feeling of having traveled back in time to old Japan while staying there☺️
It is located in Kazuemachi Tea District, so it is also recommended for those who want to stroll through the empty Kazuemachi Tea District in the early morning.
How about starting your day's sightseeing with a calm morning in the light that shines through the wooden lattice of the historic inn?

In particular, around Kasumigaike Pond, the beautiful water surface and traditional stone lanterns harmonize to create a wonderful landscape.

Tourists flock here to enjoy seafood bowls made with seafood caught in the Sea of Japan, fragrant grilled shellfish, and even local sweets!

[Kanazawa Castle Ruins Park]
#FuriTabiWinter
This is the ruins of a castle that was the residence of the Maeda clan, the lord of Kaga during the Edo period, located in Kanayama City.
The castle ruins have been designated a national historic site, and the area including the castle ruins has been developed as Kanazawa Castle Park.
It is adjacent to Kenrokuen Garden and is a popular tourist spot representing Ishikawa Prefecture.
A recommended sight is the sea cucumber wall.
It is a mosaic-patterned wall that can be seen on the exterior walls of Ishikawa Gate and Gojuken Nagaya.
It is a construction method in which flat tiles are lined up and pasted on the wall, and plaster is piled up in a kamaboko shape and applied to the joints of the tiles.
It is also called a museum of stone walls, as you can see a group of stone walls with different styles of stone processing and stacking.
There are still engravings remaining, so be sure to look for them.

[Hokuriku] Tour inside Shima, a national important cultural property 👀✨
Higashi Chaya District in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
It is one of the three Chaya Districts in Kanazawa City.
The streetscape of the Geisha district remains here, and the entire Chaya District is a traditional buildings preservation district.
Among them, "Kaikaro" and "Shima" are designated as important cultural properties of Japan.
"Shima", built as a teahouse in 1820, has remained unchanged since the Edo period.
It's a chance to see inside a teahouse that "does not accept first-time customers"!
With that in mind, I went in right after it opened.
There was a garden and musical instruments used in performing dances and entertainment were on display with explanations.
Inside the building, there were various rooms in the building, such as the accounting office where the bill was calculated and the tea room. 👀
There is also a sweet shop "Sanson-an" where you can enjoy matcha tea and sweets.
Even though there were no customers or geisha, I could imagine them there performing the tatami room (*^^*)
To avoid damaging the building, only cell phones are allowed inside. Baggage is to be left in the coin lockers on the first floor.
You might want to leave large luggage in the coin lockers at the station or at your hotel 👀

[Ishikawa Prefecture] The park museum "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa" opened in the city of Kanazawa
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture is a famous tourist spot that you can't miss when visiting Kanazawa. It was established with the concept of creating new culture and making the city more lively. 👩🎨
The museum's signature piece, "Swimming Pool" by Argentine artist Leandro Erlich, is a much-talked-about piece that allows people to meet above and below ground through the surface of the pool, and it was extremely popular!
In reality, water is just poured over transparent glass, but from above it feels like you're underwater, and below is a space dyed light blue!
Each exhibition hall is divided into private rooms, and each room has its own unique worldview!
The real Pikachu exhibit was particularly impressive and worth seeing! It was pretty realistic....🐭
The white interior is decorated with walls covered in flowers and cute chairs with bunny ears, and is filled with art and playful ideas that are unique to museums✨
*I also found Takashi Murakami's flower ball💐
Not only inside the museum, but also in the outdoor exhibition area, which is open to the public for free, the world of modern art is spread out, from art pieces that reproduce the three primary colors to art pieces of trumpets sticking out from the grass, making it a museum that is truly like a park!
The "Spherical Pavilion" is a collection of many stainless steel spheres, and each landscape reflected in the sphere is subtly different, allowing you to experience a mysterious sense of perspective that draws you into a four-dimensional world like in a science fiction movie!
This is a spot you can't miss when sightseeing in Kanazawa, so be sure to visit it at least once 😌
※Reservations are required for the "swimming pool," so don't forget to make a reservation 🙏

Kanazawa, known as Little Kyoto
Compared to the crowded big cities, Kanazawa is more suitable for wearing yukata/kimono and strolling around the tea street to take pictures 👘
Yukata rentals can be booked online, but I decided to wear one so suddenly that I rushed to the store to ask if there were any availability. In Kanazawa, as long as you don't understand Japanese, please use your translation machine. The staff will still take care of you patiently and will not be impatient even if communication is difficult.
If you are planning to visit Kanazawa, this kimono rental shop is highly recommended! !

Gold Leaf Soft Serve in Kanazawa
Higashi Chaya District, one of Kanazawa's popular tourist spots.
You can enjoy the old-fashioned atmosphere of the streets lined with restored teahouses and taverns.
Higashi Chaya District has various shops, but do you know about one of Kanazawa's gourmet specialties, gold leaf soft serve ice cream?
Amazingly, over 98% of Japan's gold leaf is produced in Kanazawa! Therefore, it is widely known as a local delicacy.
This soft serve ice cream has a sheet of gold leaf placed on top of vanilla soft serve, making it popular among tourists due to its striking appearance.
It is especially popular with children, so why not stop by during a family trip?
The shop we are introducing today, Hakuichi, also offers a variety of Kanazawa souvenirs using gold leaf, such as crafts, gold leaf cosmetics, gold leaf sake, and gold leaf sweets.
It is located in a prominent spot in Higashi Chaya District, so it should be easy to find.

Another unique feature is that the separate dormitories have double beds, so couples can stay together.
Located in the center of Kanazawa city, it has good access to tourist attractions, and the nearby 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, is known as a place to enjoy contemporary art, and is popular for its interesting architecture and fascinating exhibits.
This museum, which combines a variety of art, is a great place to experience Kanazawa culture.

[Kanazawa] Kenroku in winter, a mix of history and snow
Kenrokuen is one of Japan's Three Greatest Gardens, located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. Its history began in 1676 with the Lotus Pond Garden, which was created by Maeda Tsunanori, the lord of the Kaga domain, for his retainers.
Successive lords have made repeated renovations to the beautiful garden we see today.
The name "Kenrokuen" comes from the fact that it protects six outstanding landscapes.
Kenrokuen is especially attractive in winter.
The pine trees protected by yukitsuri (hanging ropes) stand out gracefully in the snowy landscape, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
The view spreads out, and you can feel the silence and beauty of another world.
Kenrokuen in winter is a crystallization of beauty woven together by history and nature.

[Kanazawa Station] Hotels near the station
Hotel Wing International Premium Kanazawa Ekimae is located about a 3-minute walk from Kanazawa Station.
It is a business hotel that is popular with foreign tourists.
The rooms vary in size.
The twin room I stayed in this time had a large bathroom for some reason.
The shower curtain smelled, so there are rooms like that ⚠️
The room was neither good nor bad, but the breakfast was extremely cheap, so be sure to check when making a reservation!
A hearty breakfast like the one in the photo was added for an additional 500 yen per person when booking through the reservation site!
Isn't it too good a deal? The rice was seasoned rice!
I was surprised by the large number of small dishes in the morning.
Even during the summer Obon holidays, the price was reasonable, so I think you can usually stay here for a very cheap price.

[Higashi Chaya District: Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture] A beautiful district full of atmosphere✨
Higashi Chaya District is a district lined with tea houses that preserve the atmosphere of the past.
In addition to geisha entertainment in tatami rooms, it is said that gold leaf crafts are also sold.✨
The rows of quaint wooden buildings were very beautiful.
Unfortunately it was raining when I went,
but it was because of the rain that it felt full of atmosphere and there were few people so I was able to stroll around leisurely👍️

A stylish Kutani ware shop in Kanazawa city
Kanazawa Choemon is a stylish Kutani ware shop located in Korinbo, near the Nagamachi samurai residences.
The shop has many unique products and is full of playfulness, so it's fun just to look around.
You can take photos of the products in the shop!
The cute atmosphere means that there are probably a lot of female customers, but there are also quite a lot of male customers.
Of course, there were also a lot of foreign tourists.
Why not find something you like and buy it as a souvenir for yourself?

[Kanazawa] Shopping at a Kaga-fu specialty store
Fumuroya is famous for its Kaga-fu specialty store.
There are several stores, but if you're visiting while sightseeing, we recommend the store in Higashi Chaya District.
Not only do they sell fu itself, but they also have a wide variety of fu products, such as soups that you can make just by pouring hot water and fu rusks.
Many of the products are perfect as gifts, so they're also recommended as souvenirs from Kanazawa.
Next door is a cafe where you can enjoy sweets made with fu.
Look for the hiragana character "fu".
