#myitinerary It took me 4 trips to Europe before Amsterdam got featured on my travel plans. I never was really convinced after what I read and heard about the place from people. Lately with what I saw on the news, i didn't even consider it completely safe. Having said so this compact city of romantic canals, tulips and bicycles was an interesting experience during the 4 nights or stay last year. Now, Amsterdam does have a rich history and tales from the gone by centuries. But the Amsterdam now, seems to be more about parties and ofcourse the open minded approach to things that bring joy to some people. Having said so, there is more to the city. It takes a bit of planning and looking. Let me share a few pointers based on my trip. I chose to stay slightly out of centre both for better prices and to avoid the crowd or let's say a certain type of crowd. The historic center is on the IJ river and the main station is next to the river. The interiors are full of canals. The canals were my favourite thing about Amsterdam. I cherished my early morning or night strolls by the canals. I found that getting to know a local or befriending a local helped simplify or understand the layout of the city and useful tips on getting around. A canal cruise was a wonderful experience. Both informative, comfortable and fun. I would even recommend a walking tour. Since i got to know and meet plenty of locals i thought i already received one in bits. There are plenty of museums and with less time in hand or in order to nicely see through them, I'd recommend picking what appeals to you. I did both the rijksmuseum and the van gogh museum. Both, an excellent experience. The breakfast and snacking everyday was wonderful. Amsterdam has good quality bread and pastries. The coffee too was satisfactory. I am not a big fan of Dutch food. I did have it. But twice in a row, i dined in two different Indonesian restaurants, one was Balinese and that was the best meal of the trip! #myitinerary #amsterdam #tulips #netherlands

Keukenhof Tulips Garden (Amsterdam) ℹ️This place is unbelievably beautiful. In fall, more than 7 million flower bubs are planted by hand to flower in spring. And there are 800 different varieties of tulips and different other flowers for people to enjoy. Every year, it attracts more than 1 million visitors from all over the world. In mid-April, we spent the whole day walking and appreciating the beauty of the place and the flowers. There are tons of restaurants inside to enjoy too. ℹ️Keukenhof will be opened again from 21 March - 12 May 2024 from Monday Sunday 8 AM - 7:30 PM. I recommend that you purchase your ticket in advance because on busy days, tickets are often sold out and will not be available at the box office either. We had to change our plan and visited the next day since we couldn’t buy any tickets last time (lesson learned). The next day, we took the bus 852 from Amsterdam RAI station and it stopped at Keukenhof Entrance. If you are going by taxi, show this address to the bus driver: ( 北京市顺义区杨镇红寺村北1000米). It means that it is about 1 kilometer north of Red Temple Village in Yang County in the Shunyi District. You can also take the Bus No. 915 or No. 918 from the East Gate 东直门 and go to Nancai 南彩. Then change to Bus No. 41 to get to the Beijing International Flower Port. Fairfield in Holland Michigan is a good hotel with clean and spacious rooms. It’s located just 1-2 Kms away from Holland Amtrak Station. Bed was comfortable and room was with all needed amenities. There was breakfast included in the room we booked. Breakfast was good and multiple options were available. We reached very late and checked in without any issue. Hotel staff was nice and friendly. Neil’s Dutch Village and Tulip fields were nearby. We walked to Neil’s Village and in between there were multiple restaurants available if wanna grab something for lunch. One of the most amazing things about Shanghai is how there are different flower seasons in different areas of the city during the year. March’s tulip season is one of the best.
