Bread Espresso And Arashiyama Kyoto
#japantrip
Haven't been to Arashiyama for ten years⛰️
It turns out that there are also Gassho-style houses in Arashiyama🛖
The Gassho-ya is also a coffee shop😮
Although it is not on the tourist street, it is hidden in the trails🏘️
But when I arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning, the store was already full.
In addition to tatami seats, there is also a large square table for eight people 🪑
There are two tatami outdoor for those who are not afraid of the cold🧎🏻♂️
Inside the antique Gassho-style house🛖
Of course I have to order the traditional red bean butter toast 🫘🧈🍞
Latte has a nutty flavor and tends to be dark roasted ☕️
The desserts here seem to be delicious too. I will try them next time.

Wife And Husband Coffee Kyoto
#japantrip
When we went to Dot S, Ah Si said he was going to bury Wife and Husband🏠
I didn't plan to go on this day.
The facade of the coffee shop doesn’t look like a coffee shop at all🏠
Instead, it looks like a wooden furniture store🪵
It is filled with wooden tables, wooden stools, bamboo baskets, straw hats and a bicycle🪑🧺👒🚲
Actually, the store provides picnic items for rent😮
You can go to the nearby Kamogawa for some outdoor cafe hopping😎
Pushing the door open, there is a dark and dim space💡
The winter heating mixed with the aroma of coffee fills the entire store😌
The store is small with only two tables for two and four bar seats👀
Every inch of the store is decorated with retro items🧐
There are clocks, music scores, paintings, etc. 🕰️🎼🖼️
Make the whole store more warm and textured🥰
As the name suggests, the store is a coffee shop run by a couple 👫🏻
On this day, the boss is in charge of the floor and the boss lady is in charge of making coffee😬
I tried the new bean called Lady recommended by the boss🤔
It is a combination of Kenya, Brazil and Columbia.
The dark roasted hand brewed drink is a bit bitter☕️
It's just right with a piece of chocolate mousse cake🍫

Stg Tea House Cafe Ipoh
#ipohtrip
Brilliant Birthday Brunch at stg teahouse . 🥳 Yes, everything is for me, or is it? (Swipe to find out 😜)
Incredibly blessed to have pre-celebrated my birthday with some fantastic food and company before the government announced the second lockdown few days before my birthday. 🎂 🎉
Chose to celebrate my 22nd birthday at this heritage tea house due to its lovely, quaint, British Borneo ambience and extensive variety of delicious dishes. 😋
Just look at this diverse spread featuring a hearty breakfast plate with a humongous flaky croissant, baked beans, mushrooms, sausages, bacon and a double sunny side up to brighten your day. 🤩
Standing out with its contrasting yellow cheesy surface over the cool, crispy charcoal base made in house was the generously topped beef pepperoni pizza. 😍
For something more meaty and substantial, head for the lustrous and luscious smoked duck breast drizzled with an appetising citrus sauce or the herbed stuffed chicken doused in a rich creamy mushroom sauce. 🤤

V Life Cafe Ipoh
#ipohtrip
Check out this new vegetarian cafe with an aesthetic floral interior design that perfectly aligns with its plant-based ideology. 💯🌱
They’ve got a remarkably extensive menu featuring both Asian and Western delights that is sure to entice both herbivores and carnivores alike. 🤤
What’s noteworthy about v Lifee Green is their very own hydroponic system, which currently supplies them with fresh kale, green and red coral lettuce used in their various scrumptious salads and other range of delicious dishes. 🤩
You can even literally pick your own choice of greens when you order one of their customisable salads. Feel free to use the ladder to grab your desired plant if it’s too high up.
Tried their V Signature Salad Bowl consisting plenty of fresh romaine lettuce with an appetising medley of diced tomatoes, pineapples, cucumber tossed together with a crunchy family of crispy beancurd skin, Parmesan cheese crisps and breadcrumbs before drizzling it all in a tasty sesame sauce.😋

Petit Mary Patiesserie Ipoh
#ipohtrip
A really popular themed cafe in Ipoh that offers bread, dessert, coffee and pasta. Built just next to Kinta City in a converted terrace house, this place offers both good food, relaxing environment and plenty of photo taking opportunities.
Really enjoyed their mango cake which was sweet and doesn't skimp on the mango. The smoked duck pasta was also really good and loved their matcha latte.
Price may be a little pricey, but that service and food quality more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit.

Chapter 6 Cafe Ipoh
#ipohtrip
This is a cafe with an industrial cement style. The environment is very relaxing and it is very suitable for checking in here. It is also a pet-friendly restaurant, so you can bring your furry friends.
Since I just had afternoon tea, I only ordered snacks, cakes, and coffee. The snacks and coffee were delicious; I ordered the baked caramel banana chocolate cheesecake, which was not greasy and very delicious.
The shop also provides boiled water and many game props that you can use at any time. Remember to put them back in place after use.

Wong’s Kopitiam Ipoh
#ipohtrip
Quite a unique cafe, however, be prepared for cafe prices too. Ordered green bean soup and black vinegar pork knuckles rice. Food was OKAY.
Visited this kopitiam again for the lovely food they served. This time tried their 3 meat (curry chicken, roasted pork and fried pork) nasi lemak. This dish was very good and satisfying. Liked the sambal for nasi lemak. Liked the way they served iced lemon water in a big mug, very cooling and satisfying in terms of quantity (at RM1 only). Toilet was clean during my last visit. Provide free serviettes at each table was the only sincere suggestion I can think of that they should try to improve upon.

Platf9rm Coffee Ipoh
#ipohtrip
Fans of Harry Potter should check out this cafe. The decorations are one-of-a-kind in my opinion. Make your purchase downstairs and bring it upstairs. Visitors can also rent costumes for more enjoyable photographs.
I got a cookie cream chip frappe, a butterscotch chocolate drink, and a matcha block cake. Given the size, the price is slightly higher. I'm delighted the drinks were tasty. The cake was ok, though it could have been better in terms of matcha flavour.
Spot the cafe tucked inside Concubine Lane, which is always packed with people esp on holidays.

Seong Man Tea House Ipoh
#ipohtrip
Love the old timey feel of this cozy Zen teahouse. The decor is sublime! Nice finishing touches and choice of furniture mixed in with real plants. I really love the bento vibes of the desserts and rice dish with the herbal mushroom and daikon. A real standout is the chrysanthemum agar agar and the angku kuih is so pretty and delicious. What I love is the sweets are actually not very sweet at all which is perfect! The sticky rice tea we ordered was perfectly balanced and I also enjoyed the curry bun. This is the perfect place with family, or a date or with friends. I wish I lived here and could come here every weekend!

Hillrise Coffee 16 Canning Garden Ipoh
#ipohtrip
A popular cafe located within a bungalow. Nicely done up space with various types of seating. Charming & cosy. Parking available at the side or a short walk away along the commercial lot. Service could be better, they seem rather uninterested. Quite pricey for what you get.
We came for a late lunch on a weekday. There were no crowds to contend with. Ordered their smoked duck carbonara & spicy pepperoni aglio olio. Rather small portion & lackluster presentation. Taste wise average at best. Could do with more ingredients.

Nifayyi Warung & Cafe
#ipohtrip
Nifayyi Warung & Kafe Ipoh is a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic local cuisine in a friendly environment. Whether you're a fan of mamak food or just looking for a cozy place to eat, this place is worth a visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends. Coming for a birthday celebration in Ipoh, this restaurant can cater to our arrangements and requests. Great food and drinks, everyone enjoyed the event. Only a little problem with car parking, and a rather long waiting time to enter the restaurant. However, they have a large and comfortable waiting area.

Noka Restaurant Singapore
#singaporetrip
Wow this place is a star! We went for the lunch omakase and every dish except the tofu skin amuse bouche was great. The snacks were interesting and delightful to the palette. Sushi and sashimi were of high quality but portion is small. The sous vide braised beef short ribs was amazing. You could taste every fibre of the meat. Very very good for the price. Not to mention service was immaculate although the setting (lunch) was not too formal. It's the kind of place you can go chill on a weekend afternoon with your friends and drink sake. It's also the kind of place that makes you plan for your next visit already right after you step out of the restaurant. 👍🏻

Curious Palette

Arrived around 12pm on a Sunday afternoon and place still had a few empty seats. Interior was cosy and had some nice natural light coming in. Downside was some of the seats were uncomfortable - for our table of 6, one of it was a stool which wasn’t ideal for weight distribution.
I felt the menu was very lacking for a meat lover, but that is good news for VG/vegan friends as there are many such options. That was a downside as I felt full but didn’t feel like I hit my macros. Coffee was a plus as taste was on point and the coffee art is definitely above average.

For The People Cafe Singapore
#singaporetrip
Cafe was nice and quiet when I dropped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. There was one young male server who was attentive and helpful on my visit. The space is very nicely designed with many calming colours, it was a bit noisy because the staff were packing some baskets but overall the ambience was still quite nice. Food could be better, as I ordered a pesto scramble for a total of $19.80 but was not particularly impressed by it. I just felt like it was your regular toast with scrambled eggs and avocado + some pesto on the side, though for the price I had expected a bit more.

Such a quiet and quaint place for breakfast. Non-air-conditioned but the high ceiling and ventilation is very good even in such a hot weather.
My favourite is their soft boiled eggs. They are large eggs with huge yolks done just right that makes it so fulfilling. Their hot food like mee sian is only available after 10am as we were there at 8.30am.

Came here at mid-day. The service crew is totally friendly and they are always ready to answer your questions. My wife and I were seated at the counter table and was curious about the way they prepare the coffee and they are so enthusiastic in answering our questions.
Coffee is good and if you wanna try waffle that is different, try their waffle that has a mix of Mochi texture which is chewy. My wife is not a waffle person but she totally love this waffle.

For those who love sourdough will definitely know this little hideout. They are located in a shop house in havelock road. Parking is available at the mscp next to it. Portion is reasonable but for smaller eaters, you might want to share a sandwich.
You can tell.from the pictures that I eat with my eyes. Can't help but over ordered! The menu just sound so tasty! I started with the mushrooms sandwich. It was stir-fried to perfection. So tasty and flavourful. Even the baby loved it! The eggplant was next. Not my favorite as the taste of herbs was a little strange for my liking. I even ordered a plain croissant on the side!

Overall, a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to fellow tea enthusiasts.

Island Paradise Awaits: An Epic Boat Adventure to Mnemba
During my trip to Zanzibar, I had the opportunity to embark on a day-long trip to Mnemba Island with a local company called Swahili Dhow Experience Zanzibar. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area! #holidayvacation
⛵️ We were picked up directly from our hotel on the beach early in the morning and sailed to Mnemba Island, passing through some of the clearest and most beautiful waters I have ever seen. The trip was not just about the destination: it was about the journey too. The boat ride was scenic, and we could feel the warm tropical breeze as we cruised towards the island. #adventure #boattrip
🐠 One of the highlights was the snorkeling around Mnemba’s coral reefs. The underwater life here is incredible - colorful fish, clear waters and a peaceful environment. Whether you are a snorkeling expert or a beginner, the crew is there to help, making it easy and enjoyable. #snorkeling
🥙 For lunch, we had some time to relax on the boat, soaking in the sun and the stunning views. We were treated to fresh, locally caugh fish and traditionak Zanzibari dishes right on the boat. #localfood #foddie
🌅 The best part came at the end of the day when we sailed back, watching the sunset over the ocean - a moment of pure magic. #sunset
Tips for future travellers:
- Bring sunscreen and a hat: The sun can be intense, especially when you are out on the water for several hours.
- Book in advance: These boat trips can get quite popular, especially during the high season.
- Prepare for an adventure: If you enjoy nature, water activities and local culture, this trip is a must!
The combination of stunning natural beauty, an authentic local experience and amazing service made this day one of the highlights of my Zanzibar vacation. The Swahili Dhow Experience offers a unique, personalizad way to explore the waters around Zanzibar, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. #localguides
Raw Kitchen Bar
#singaporetrip
Was there for weekend brunch.
Main choices are limited. But food are interesting.
I love the Greek honey burrata the most. Corn fritter & thick cut fries are normal. Ribs are a little too sweet for me. Truffle cavatelli smells really nice, gravy is a little powdery. Black mamba prawns are really thick & huge. Love e squid ink rice too. Overall it’s a good place to hang out except for the fact it’s a far from mrt station.

khai (dark skinned malaysian…hopefully i remembered his name right) always makes the effort to make us feel welcome. i didn’t even think he would remember us but in fact he even remembers conversations he had with us since the first visit and ensured that my mum’s coffee would be exactly what she would enjoy!
every friend and family i brought always had a positive experience. thanks khai for remembering my mum and i and even becoming friends. we hope to always see you there when we get the chance to visit!

Chu And Co Singapore
#singaporetrip
Not the most convenient location, but the sandwiches here are delicious. The breads/pastries could be hits/misses. Sometimes, I visit late, and they will only have few choices left. Suggest to visit early, or come by another day.
While there is not much atmosphere to speak of (unless dining alfresco with Singapore's hot and humid climate is your thing), the standard of service every single time has always been top-notch. Love how friendly, patient and welcoming the staff are.
Also a nice touch with The Community coffee next door these days.

French Fold Telok Ayer
#singaporetrip
As a typical tourist wandering the city early in the morning in search of breakfast, I stumbled upon French Fold on a Saturday, just before the brunch rush at 9 am. Despite having no reservation, the staff warmly welcomed me—lone traveler with a large backpack in tow—and asked where I’d prefer to sit: deep inside, near the front, or outside. Seeking refuge from the heat, I chose a cozy spot inside, where the ambience was serene and peaceful.
The service was impeccable throughout my visit. The staff offered thoughtful assistance with the menu, checked in to ensure I was enjoying my meal, and kindly asked if I’d like another coffee—attentive without being intrusive.
As for the food, it was both a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. I ordered the 17 (a savory galette) and 27 (a sweet crêpe), and I savored every bite. Both dishes were beautifully presented and utterly delicious, leaving me with an empty plate and a big smile.

The M Plot Cafe Singapore
#singaporetrip
Nice cosy cafe at King Albert Park Mall. Seats are on the second floor and may be limited due to safe distancing.
Had coffees and macarons using burpple beyond 1 for 1 deal. Very worth it. Yuzu macaron was superb. Distinctive yuzu taste and not overly sweet whereas the hazelnut praline was pretty normal. Chocolate hazelnut croissant was nice too.
The coffees came with a chocolate-dipped candied orange stick on the side which was very nice. We had mocha and flat white. Both were good.
Friendly service. Would come back again if I'm around KAP.

Champion Bolo Bun Singapore
#singaporetrip
Go to Singapore, try the current hits. On Saturday at 10 am there, there was already a queue and waiting for 50 minutes, but eating only took 10 minutes 😆 the taste that was waited for that long in my opinion was delicious, so the concept of a filled/layered bread made from a bun, crunchy on top and soft on the bottom. The most hits butter, try the breakfast like a burger with spam, curry potato is already filled in a slightly spicy savory bun. For the price, you can see the bill photo. And here they also sell hot drinks that are quite popular, especially espresso white. The great thing is if your bun order is cold or not fresh enough, you can immediately replace it with a new one without queuing for a long time, good service

Roji Ice Cream Monster
#singaporetrip
Very cute ice cream. Big size with eyes like a monster as the shop name is. Size wise is quite big for one person, but it is a shaved ice cream for the size. Shared with my kids and finished them. Not really kids friendly place because didn't see any baby chair inside, however, if they can sit on normal chair nicely then it is fine.
Staffs were very friendly. Seatings are inside and didn't manage to see whether it had seat available or not but staffs were helpful to run and see if there is any. Not much crowd during the weekend dinner time. It might be due to everyone going dinner instead of dessert yet.
The ordering is a bit different way. Need to choose the flavour at the card and topping with stamps. Quite unique way of ordering.

Flourish Bakehouse

Good coffee & unique bakes to be found here! Not ur typical bakes but you will definitely be pleasantly surprised by the selection. The savoury items come heated up and my personal favourite was the ham leek & parmesan scone! Very buttery & cheesy. The coffee & cardamom walnut cake was also very well done!Mozzarella Potato Rosemary galette could have done w a little less potato but i did enjoy it nonetheless.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming + always ready to recommend options to you if you are not sure what you wanna get.
The cafe is also very cute & aesthetic space! You even get the option of a picnic mat if tables are unavailable. Looking forward to my next visit~

Visited on a Monday morning and was served promptly. The food was delicious, came here for the scones (come with jam and butter) and they did not disappoint! We also had the eggplant toast which was delicious. They also have a wide variety of cakes and tarts to choose from. Loved that they had 2 different sizes of each type of tart for those with smaller stomachs but want to try different flavours! The staff were friendly and gave great recommendations :) will definitely be visiting again!
