Getting There - you can take train or public bus but it takes about 2 hours from Tapei Main Station. We booked a tour from KKDay, Visited a few other places as well. It is convenient although I suggest taking the night tour as it saves you from the heat of the sun and the vibe would totally be different as the lanterns will all be lit! Attractions - Street filled with different shops that sell food, souvenirs, drinks, pastries and so much more! Shopping - Souvenir shops is bit on the pricey side as it is a tourist attraction. Chiang Mai, Thailand🇹🇭 Itinerary: • Woke up to sleeper train & put bags in hostel • Went for breakfast at Sunday Bakery • Visited Wat Chedi Luang Temple • Shopped around Chiang Mai • Had lunch at Gravity Cafe • Went to visit the silver temple • Had a beer • Went to Chiang Mai Saturday Night Market We woke up at 5am, on the turbulent sleeper train, to the sunrise in Chiang Mai. It was an experience that I am so grateful for. We headed to the hostel and woowww, this hostel is so serene and beautiful - it truly lives up to its name:( @hiddengardenhostel ). Our favourite adventures so far are the temples. Wat Chedi Luang was an incredible sight, originally beginning construction in the 14th century, the temple resembles ancient ruins. We were shocked at how many good shops there were around Chiang Mai- lots being very modern, selling beautiful handmade items. We visited the completely silver covered temple & then sat and had a Chang Classic beer, as we people watched at a local bar. For a weekend stroll around Shanghai, I decided to visit a place in Fangdian Road (that seems to be closed). However, found a nice surprise right outside Exit 3 of metro: a street market. This market is mostly selling jewelry and accessories. Both jewelry stands are very popular with girls, that pass around and try the earrings or necklaces. The tea stand is quite nice, specially the red tea. You get to decide how much or even mix different teas to make your own blend. Additionally, my big surprise was to find few pets for sell. You find little cute birds 🐦 , bunnies 🐰, tiny hamsters 🐹, tow types of 🐢 and baby ducks 🦆. Some of the turtles were so tiny! This is the first time I see such pet store in the open in China. I did felt sorry for the birds, they should be free, not in cages. If you have some free time during this weekend, I’ll suggest you to come an visit. I just love these kind of markets.
