Some people order hamburgers just to see this 🤭 ・A fun-filled interior You can get your own water by turning the sewing machine The toilet is behind a hidden door, and there are so many cute tricks that you can't help but smile. If you look closely, you'll see that the staff door says "Staff Only" in Japanese! This is one of the best cafe experiences in christchurch. And what makes the experience even better is the friendly atmosphere created by the owners and staff. Their recent upgrades have really elevated the ambience, making it a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy a relaxing day. I can't recommend this place enough, whether you're a local or just passing through, it's definitely worth a visit. Oh, and did I mention they're dog-friendly? It's a big plus in my book! The place is beautifully decorated, especially the cozy little area inside. We visited on two different occasions, and despite it being packed both times, we were seated immediately and the food was promptly served. The service was amazing - the staff are delightful, friendly, and ruthlessly efficient. Food was a very high standard both in taste and presentation. The Eggs Benedict were off the scale delicious and my wife's waffles were wonderful. We will certainly visit again. And if you are going to be in town and looking for good grub. New Zealand's South Island #Christchurch's local Thai restaurant #兰 "Thai Orchid Restaurant" is decorated in a Southeast Asian style, with colorful colors, all colors of the rainbow, and a passionate Southeast Asian style. Since this was my first visit, I chose a restaurant near the B&B, and Thai food seemed to be relatively unconventional. Stepping into the moment, I was attracted by the beautiful nightclub-style atmosphere, and unexpectedly discovered that the guest at the opposite table was the Emirates stewardess I just flew with! That should be the right choice. The chefs in the store are all Thai, and they cook authentic Thai cuisine. I ordered the basic Pad Thai, crispy duck and stir-fried beef. The side dishes used a lot of shredded vegetables and nuts. The sauce was a bit heavy, so I needed a bowl of white rice to go with it. I ordered Thai milk for my drink, which was surprisingly not that sweet. The restaurant also has live performances in the evening, sometimes live music, sometimes jazz nights, and the atmosphere is very cheerful. It is also friendly to vegetarians and is a popular local restaurant. The B&B Bed and Breakfast where we stayed on our way from #Sydney to #Christchurch is located on Huxley Street near Sydenham Park. It is a cute cottage with a small garden. Parking is available next to the main road, which is very convenient for self-driving tourists. The B&B has a warm rural pastoral style, using a lot of natural colors to decorate it, making it very comfortable and natural. The house is fully furnished, including a dining table and kitchen, as well as a comfortable bed. The one-night price for three people is $2,500, which is fairly affordable in terms of New Zealand prices. The B&B is located in a residential area and the environment is quite quiet. Although it is not far from restaurants and shopping malls in the city, it is still more convenient to drive in and out. The driving direction is different from Taiwan. Fortunately, New Zealand is a vast country and sparsely populated. Most of the roads are straight and there are very few side roads. New Zealand, located in the southern hemisphere, has the opposite season to Taiwan. October is the spring season. The mountaintops are covered with white snow and the parks are full of cherry blossoms. The cherry blossom trees here are particularly huge. Christchurch is a very nice city on New Zealand’s South Island. It’s a city but has more of a small town vibe! It’s a great location if you want to get to some of the Canterbury countryside! Check out my recs below ⬇️ Getting There - Fly into Christchurch airport located around 8km from downtown. Regular buses will take you to the city for $4. Attractions - 1️⃣ Christchurch city tram - the tram costs around $20 and will take you around the inner city stopping at numerous attractions 2️⃣ Christchurch gondola - takes you up the mountain where there are breathtaking views over Christchurch and the surrounding countryside 📸 There are also numerous walking trails you can explore. This was my favorite part of the city as it gets you away from the people. It also reminded me of my home - Ireland - with sheep wandering around the mountain roads 🐑 3️⃣ City exploration - Christchurch isn’t a big city so it’s easy to walk around. There’s some cool buildings to see, especially on New Regents Street with the tram going through - an iconic Christchurch picture! Also check out the botanic gardens which are free to visit. The Avon River flows nearby where you can go punting if you want! 🛶 Hotels - City Centre Motel - This was a nice little motel that’s walking distance to the downtown. It’s affordable, quiet, and spacious. Food & Restaurants - Riverside Market - An indoor market area with many options to choose from. I ate here twice trying Italian food and Nepalese food. Read reviews online before choosing a restaurant as some can be better than others. In order to catch an early morning flight and not be late, I found a hotel near the airport. Lylo is the cheapest. There is a large common area where you can cook. You can also rest and play billiards. It is very close to the International Antarctic Centre. It is also possible to walk to the airport. You don’t have to worry about not being able to get a car if you arrive too early. #christchurch

Rating - 4/5 Hotel is near to the city centre about 10 minutes walk. Condition of hotel is all good with amazing facilities. No views though, but ok to stay for a short trip around town. There are many shops around for those who need to do last minute shopping or for quick meals. The cafe on the train sells food and drinks.
