This cafe have a wide selection of traditional local food, and the service is literally fast! I really love their Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang, Soft-boiled Eggs, and Penang Prawn Paste Chee Cheong Fun. We also had a few other things and the drink was good as well especially their Cham (Coffee mixing with Tea), truly aromatic and smooth. #malaysiatrip Village Park has been my all-time favourite place for Nasi Lemak (Fragrant rice cooked with coconut milk, supplement with perfectly fried peanuts and anchovies). There is always long queue BUT you will get to your turn in about 15-20mins. This is the ONLY one outlet here in Uptown, Petaling Jaya, they do not have any other branches. They are double-storey restaurant and fully air-conditioned. Also, I noticed there are many tourists here, especially China, Korean and Japanese. I took a red-eye flight and landed in Kuala Lumpur early in the morning. I rushed to the hotel to drop off my luggage, then walked to the Central Market and Petaling Street. Because I arrived too early, many shops were not open, so I went to eat at He Jiu Hainanese Tea Shop which was recommended by a youtuber. We arrived at the store entrance around 8 o'clock. There was a self-service number-collecting machine and a screen at the door showing the current number. I'm not sure if it was because it was a weekday morning, but we waited for about 5 minutes and were seated very quickly. The whole store has two floors. There was a whole row of waiters on the first floor. We chose to sit on the second floor which was cooler. The menu looked like an old newspaper. There was a code in front of each dish on the menu. Just write the code on a piece of paper that looked like an answer card and give it to the waiter. We ordered fried chicken nasi lemak, fried egg space bun, kaya toast, raw egg, and lemon black tea. You must eat nasi lemak when you come to Southeast Asia. The nasi lemak here is very delicious with the side dishes of dried fish and peanuts. Although the fried chicken was a bit dry, the meat inside was still a little juicy. Overall, the rice was I have, the space bun is a bit like the pineapple bun in Hong Kong but it uses the bread of an ordinary hamburger. Because my wife doesn't dare to eat cream, we ordered the fried egg flavor, which tastes very much like the hamburgers in ordinary breakfast shops. The kaya toast is toasted bread with a very sweet sauce in the middle. If you like sweet taste, you will love it. The raw egg is very easy to eat, it doesn't have a very raw taste but it's not amazing. If you don't dare to eat it, don't force yourself to try it. The lemon black tea is the usual Southeast Asian style with a lot of sugar. If you don't like too sweet, you must ask the waiter to reduce the sugar🤭 Overall, the traffic location, service attitude, and food quality are all good, and the food is served quite quickly. Came here for our last breakfast before leaving Kuala Lumpur. This is our second attempt as compared to our Bentong outlet first attempt. You have to queue to dine-in where by your table number is assigned to you so you won't have to worry about your table getting taken while you queue for food if you are alone. Different outlets have different food stalls but the same name falls under the drinks stall with their Signature 1 + 1 drink. Highly recommends their toasts and the muffin. I found that during visited china town. There are some Chinese restaurants but I really wanted eat nasilemak I’ve ordered Kopi and nasilemak and chicken fried with curry sauce. Kopi is sweet coffee. But that’s was sweet too much. Nasilemak was so crunchy and big one. Chicken fries is tasty not spicy. Actually I can’t eat spicy one. Other menu is ice cream and some desserts. #afternoontea I love Oriental Coffee’s freshly baked egg tarts. The crust was crispy, and the super thick custard filling was smooth, and not too sweet. Their egg tart was made into Malaysia Book of Records in 2021 for having the thickest egg tart of total 6 centimeters. Other than this, I also like their Nasi Lemak, Curry Laksa Mee and their Signature Iced Coffee. The Nasi Lemak came with nicely marinated fried chicken, tasty sambal, and fragrant coconut rice topped with a sunny side egg. They have a good selection of dishes, snacks and desserts on the menu. Village Park Restaurant is often touted as having the "best nasi lemak in town". During our staycation in Kuala Lumpur , we explored the eateries around and made it a must to try the legendary nasi lemak here. It was really delicious! The rice was fluffy and fragrant, excellent sambal, and the fried chicken was so juicy and crispy, it tasted heavenly, definitely worth all the calories. Surprise find at a house turned mamak stall at Taman Zooview, 20 mins drive from downtown Kuala Lumpur. Very popular location for locals to have their favorite breakfast. No parking space, cars are lining by the side of the highway. Highlight of this place is its mutton curry nasi lemak. The mutton is well cooked, very soft and flavorful but without the gamey taste. Curry is well balanced, not too spicy. The rice has enough coconut milk scent and taste, just a bit too wet (probably too popular, not enough time to cook and cool). A must have.
