It was a rush decision when I made a booking on this hotel. I was supposed to stay for an overnight at Lauterbrunnen but since I’m on a budget, I chose the cheapest one. Thinking that Wengen is just few minutes away from Lauterbrunnen via train. When I got there, I was a bit scared of the deafening silence of that town. I guess it was already 7 or 8 pm. But the short hair receptionist welcomed me with her beautiful smile. She assured that the town is safe to walk at that time. The hotel is a bit old but well maintained. I like the piano, the creepy yet fascinating lift, the funny double doors which I lately realised and the breathtaking view from my balcony. I couldn’t ask for more, and it’s very homy. Hotel Yan is one of the unique stylish hotel in Singapore with a warehouse looking lounge . I have booked a superior double with balcony room. Check in was fast and efficient. The room has a balcony with great views of the city. The interior design of this room was awesome. Amenities was generous enough while a set of complimentary snacks was provided too. Bed was firm and comfortable. Television and wifi signal were good too. Everything was well organised and clean . What I like about this hotel is the warehouse design at the ground floor, the mini bar and the views from the balcony. Housekeeping and front desk had also gone an extra miles which what I was impressed too. There are various eateries , cafe and mini mart nearby. Price - 350 SGD nett (Premier Courtyard Room, 2021 corporate rate) Note: Photos show Quay Room, not Premier Courtyard Rating - 5/5 Upon entry to the hotel, I was greeted by courteous staff members. Check-in was a breeze and I was able to access my room before 2PM. Since it was my birthday, my room was upgraded (Quay view). It was very spacious and with a balcony overlooking Boat Quay. The view is spectacular, especially at night. Inside the room, there is a lounge chair and separate table with chair. It is equipped with a mini fridge, with complimentary nespresso and twg tea. Much to my delight, I was also given a birthday cake and auntie, one of their staff, even gave me a birthday card, with my picture (yes, she took a photo of the birthday girl ;)). Bento breakfast was served during that time (only in room dining), plenty and fulfilling. Food ordered were also all delicious (afternoon tea set, Ee Fu noodles, laksa)!!! Use of the swimming pool had to be booked beforehand (which is the norm nowadays). For me, water temperature is just about right (no heater though) and I thoroughly enjoyed the part of the pool where there are water jets. Luckily that time, it is not too crowded. This is my second stay here. For this time, I booked a premier balcony room for my dad’s birthday and opted for Singapore Flyer view . The moment I checked in to the hotel room, it was quite a big room with such a amazing skyline view. The view was so great that it exceeded many other five star hotels in Singapore. Location is close to bus stop , train station , various nearby famous eateries and attractions. There is a gym and swimming pool on level 4 with nice view too. Besides that , there is a restaurant and open air park right behind the pool. Also a great place to relax. Behind the park, there is a laundry . A convenience store right at the ground floor. This was one of our best hotel stay .
