🩵 Transportation 🚗🚄
• Self-driving: 3 hours from Beijing, 5 hours from Tianjin, perfect for drivers!
• High-speed rail: From Beijing North Station/Qinghe Station → Taizicheng Station, only 1 hour 20 minutes~ After arrival, there is a free 🆓 shuttle bus, just 7-8 minutes to Thaiwoo Town! But the shuttle bus only runs when the high-speed train arrives, don’t dawdle after getting off, hurry up 🚨
🩵 Hotels 🏨
There are many hotels along the town! Like Nanshanli, Paston, Hyatt Place, Westin Source, Thaiwoo Hotel, etc. Hyatt Place and Westin Source are super convenient in the town center 🌟 Other hotels can be reached by free 🆓 shuttle buses, divided into A and B routes, don’t take the wrong one!
🩵 Activities 🎢
1️⃣ Cable car 🚡: The mountain views are absolutely stunning! Divided into two sections, mid-mountain and summit (2160m altitude), both breathtakingly beautiful 😭 There are also photo spots~ Round trip 100 RMB, only 20 RMB for seniors and children, and it’s pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friends to enjoy the view 🐶
2️⃣ Super rich recreational facilities! Go-karts, balance bikes, archery range, horse ranch, grass skiing, petting zoo, perfect for kids or dates~
3️⃣ Weekend nights have bonfire parties and iron flower performances (at 📍Nanshanli outer square), the atmosphere is amazing 🔥
🩵 Dining 🍔
So many dining options to choose from! Barbecue, hot pot, bistros, craft breweries, fast food (McDonald’s, KFC available), coffee shops, light meals, hot dogs, and Lawson convenience store, something for every budget~ Hotels also have restaurants, so you can eat well without leaving!
🩵 Photo spots 📸
• At the foot of the mountain: Popular big red chair 🪑, little donkey family, super photogenic!
• On the mountain: THAIWOO sign, “Listening to the Mountain” big headphones 🎧, summit check-in spot at 2160m altitude, popular signposts (many and eye-catching), perfect for stunning photos in no time!
🩵 Tips ⚠️
1️⃣ Weather is changeable! Sunny days at the end of July are not cold on the mountain, but in August and September bring a light jacket or windbreaker~ Mountain weather is unpredictable, remember to bring an umbrella ☂️ UV rays are very strong, apply sunscreen generously! The key point❗ There are really no mosquitoes here 🦟!
2️⃣ Thaiwoo Ski Town is quite crowded, if possible, visit on weekdays for a much better experience!
3️⃣ Average cost: Including high-speed rail and cable car, about 300 RMB, good value for money~
4️⃣ Outfit: Dress beautifully for photos! A white dress with a headscarf creates a great vibe, bring a jacket or knitted shawl for the cold summit~
5️⃣ Duration: The town is not big, 3-4 hours is enough without taking photos, photo lovers can spend an afternoon and watch the sunset 🌄, no need to stay overnight~
❌ Pitfall Avoidance Guide:
🩵 Transportation Tips 🚗🚄
• Don’t set off on a whim when driving! Jingli Expressway is prone to traffic jams on weekends and holidays, check road conditions in advance and prepare snacks to pass the time.
• High-speed rail tickets must be booked early! Popular trains sell out in minutes 😭, if you’re late, you can only watch helplessly! Don’t dawdle after getting off the train, the shuttle bus won’t wait, missing one means a long wait!
🩵 Accommodation Tips 🏨
• Don’t blindly chase low prices! Some cheap hotels have outdated facilities and poor soundproofing, a bad night’s sleep will ruin your trip mood.
• During peak season (especially weekends), book rooms in advance! Last-minute bookings are not only expensive but may have no availability, leaving you to go home disappointed 😣! Although the town is small, staying at centrally located hotels like Hyatt Place or Westin Source means you can step downstairs and start having fun, so convenient!
🩵 Activity Tips 🎢
• Although the cable car offers great views, don’t go near closing time! Missing the last cable car down means walking down in the dark, which is terrifying 😱!
• Most recreational facilities are family-oriented, pure adult visitors shouldn’t expect too much! Popular activities like go-karts and archery have long queues on weekends, off-peak visits are best.
• Bonfire parties and iron flower performances are not daily! Confirm the time and place in advance to avoid wasted trips.
🩵 Dining Tips 🍔
• Don’t expect too much from the town’s food! Most restaurants are pricey, around 100+ RMB per person, and the taste is average. Peak dining times require at least a half-hour wait, it’s better to eat off-peak or bring some snacks.
• Don’t be fooled by trendy restaurants! Some have 2-hour queues but poor food, chain restaurants like McDonald’s and KFC are more reliable.
🩵 Other Tips ⚠️
• Never go out without sunscreen! UV rays on the mountain are outrageously strong, you’ll come back much darker!
• Don’t wear high heels! The mountain paths and grasslands are tricky, high heels can cause sprains easily, pretty flats or sneakers are the way to go!
• Don’t take leave to come on non-weekend holidays! There are far fewer people on weekdays, the experience is much better, weekends are crowded and you have to queue for photos 📸!
