The hotel is economical and is located near the JR Shimonoseki station. When i went into the hotel, the staff helped me to check in patiently and explained the facilities carefully and with details. Also, the view is marvelous!
Everything is good. The hotel has complete service facilities, including a laundry room. I finally washed and dried the clothes from the previous week. It is a little far from JR Shimonoseki Station. After exiting Shimonoseki Station, walk to the second-floor overpass until you get off the vertical elevator at the end and turn right at the next intersection. There is a local supermarket across the road on the right side of the hotel, which is quite rich. The night-time ramen 🍜 of the hotel is quite good.
I visited Shin-Yamaguchi after a few days in Fukuoka. The weather was still cold, and it rained a little. From the station, just cross the street, and you’ll arrive at the hotel. It’s about a three-minute walk if you have luggage. Next to the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven and many izakayas.
The manager greeted me warmly, and the staff were extremely friendly. They would greet guests as they walked in, making me feel very welcome. Welcome drinks and coffee are available until midnight—I loved their lemon water! You can also use the library/cafeteria for work or reading, which is quite convenient.
Amenities are placed on the first floor next to the elevator. Breakfast tickets are available, with multiple time slots to choose from. The room size is big for the price. The bathroom is compact, but I had no issues enjoying a bath. The only inconvenience was the lack of a remote control to adjust the air-conditioner’s wind direction.
There are two washing machines and two dryers on the fourth floor, both of which can be connected via an app. If you don’t have coins, you can pay through the app with a credit card, and it will show a timer for when your laundry is done. The washing machine is easy to use, but the dryer took a bit long. Ice is also available on this floor.
There are no complimentary bottled waters in the room, so I often went down to the first floor for lemon water and coffee.
Breakfast was more abundant than I expected. Since this is a chain hotel, I didn’t expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The menu seemed to change daily, and I really enjoyed having breakfast here. Definitely worth the price. If I visit Yamaguchi again, I would definitely book this hotel!
Beautiful Onsen hotel. Visiting a friend at Yuda Onsen, and chanced upon Onn. Japanese standard of service and cleanliness, price is reasonable as well. I love how i could visit the onsen as many times I want. For those who are too shy, you can book one of the two private onsen rooms for ¥3500 per hr which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. Free flow of coffee at the coffee machine at the reception. Too many great things at this hotel to be written in a few words. Only downside would be the really tiny rooms but most Japanese hotels are tiny anyway.
It was a smaller hotel than I saw in the introduction video. The point I was worried about was that the TV in the room was not easy to turn on and it broke down? When I thought about it, it seems that the plastic guide card in front of the TV interfered and the sensor did not work. You should shift the position a little. Later, I'm glad that the dinner was very delicious, but the order came out. The thick kakuni came out to the end ... I wanted to eat a little earlier with my last full stomach. But the female staff felt good and liked it.
The breakfast was also very delicious with a lot of items.
Both the indoor and open-air baths are not large, but they were well cleaned and comfortable. Overall I was very satisfied.
The weather was not good, so it was a little disappointing to think that I could see a more beautiful sunset and rising sun if it was sunny ... I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.
My flight arrival on the early morning, and reached the hotel around 13.45-14.00. And I wanna leave luggages at the room and hope to hurry to visit another sightseeing on afternoon. But actually the hotel ignore early check-in, so I must paid 1000 yen for nothing to do at the room. I think the hotel don’t get any good mindset to traveler and don’t have any flexible about the rule of conditions. Traveling at japan disappoints and more getting tired to understand their service mind.
Excellent location for transit passengers. On the opposite of Shin-Yamaguchi Shinkansen station, across the road. Breakfast is excellent, in the room too everything is, cozy and clean. The mattress is comfortable, the pillows are also. There is water in the cooler downstairs.
Service was really first rate. Despite our not speaking Japanese, the staff were always patient and helpful. They guided us in adapting to the Ryokan customs and provided very personalized service without being intrusive. The gardens and facilities are well maintained and create a serene experience.
Saw a few bad reviews online and was a bit worried. Our experience wasn’t so bad in general. There were towels and shower gel etc in the room. Bathroom is a bit small but manageable. We had to go to reception to buy washing powder for laundry though, then had to go again to change coins, which was quite inconvenient.

GGuest UserThis hotel has a great location. From the rooms, lobby, and restaurant, you can see the ocean, Tsunoshima Island, and Tsunoshima Bridge, and the views are amazing. We were also able to take a walk on the beach right in front of the hotel. We were very satisfied with the delicious buffet, which had a wide variety of options for both dinner and breakfast.
The large public bath was amazing, with an open-air bath where you could watch the sunset.
In the evening, we were taken on a night tour of Tsunoshima Island in a minibus. (Free of charge)
Next time, we would like to go swimming in the sea in the summer.
GGuest UserIchinomata Onsen Grand Hotel offers a serene and rejuvenating experience. Set in a beautiful location, it features traditional Japanese architecture and onsen (hot spring) facilities that provide a perfect way to relax. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, often with stunning views of the surrounding nature. Guests can enjoy delicious local cuisine, and the staff is known for their warm hospitality. It's an excellent choice for those looking to unwind and immerse themselves in Japanese culture. Whether you're traveling for leisure or a romantic getaway, Ichinomata Onsen Grand Hotel is a wonderful destination!

GGuest UserThis place was clean and neat and the meals were delicious. The staff was very kind and attentive. The bathroom was nice, the lobby was nice. The bed was a little stiff for American tastes but more comfortable than most here in Japan. This place had its own chic style that I appreciated. They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs.

RRaymondHaving similar apartment booked with the same host for the trip. Frankly, overall experience is good, though this property is a little dusty. Hagi is not a city for shopping, also found it difficult for dining out though quite a number of restaurants around, most of them were fully booked on the day we stay. Have to drive 5 minutes for food around McDonald's and Lawson. It's still a great place to visit and stay at this property and
a property value for money!
GGuest UserIt was a good value for money. The view was also very satisfying with the sea view. It was old because it was an old building, but I could feel the old beauty of Japan. Best!
EEnzo & DanyExperience to do. We are very close to the airport but out of hand for restaurants and lounges in general. The staff at the reception is very kind and helps you in everything. When you arrive in the bathroom, you can choose frozen food baths. The room including the bathroom is very small but it has everything that needs and for a night it's good. The clothes like cleaning is excellent. Great solution to be near the airport.
Cc-o-r-a-lIt was very close to the station and there were many convenience stores and izakayas, so it was very convenient.
The hotel staff were also very kind and gave us recommendations for places to eat dinner.
