Mirissa Eye

This restaurant is right on the beach. I went there after seeing a recommendation. I ordered a grouper, two pounds of prawns, and a squid, which cost 5,500 rupees in total. Someone said that I could bargain, but I talked for a long time and the price didn't go down. That's all. The best thing was the grilled fish, which tasted good and suited the Chinese taste. The squid was too big and tasted okay, so it was hard for two people to finish it.

A very lively restaurant and bar, probably located in the most central part of the beach. The waiters can speak a few words in Chinese. The prices are mid-to-high for this place, and many people come here because of its reputation. The seafood looks good, but it doesn't taste very fresh. It seems that it is always like this, because Sri Lankans do not kill animals, and the seafood is all frozen to death.

The dining environment is first-class, with natural decorations by the sea. Unfortunately, it was cloudy for two days in Mirissa, so we missed the Indian Ocean sunset. The fried shrimps were delicious, but the French fries were not as good as McDonald's. The pizza was okay, and the stir-fried dishes were a bit spicy but oily.

I ate here for two nights in a row. First of all, I would like to give an overall evaluation. I think the scenery is good, the service is average, and you can choose the seafood yourself, but I don’t know if it’s my psychology or something. I think the food on the second day is not as delicious as the first day, and the portion is a little smaller.

What a coincidence! When we went there, it was Christmas Eve. The atmosphere was pretty good. There was a band, fireworks, and the waiters all wore Christmas hats. It was lively and cute. As for food, the seafood was fresh, but the service was a bit worse. The dishes were super slow and we waited for a long time. Tips: You can get discounts on seafood, lobster 7000 rupees, 4 crabs 3700 rupees, red snapper 2000 rupees, and don't forget happy hour! !
