This was by far the best meal we’ve had in France on our current trip! The dining room is quaint and warm, reached by a stone spiral staircase that makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time. An amuse of goose rillettes was a unique and delicious surprise and the escargots had just the right accent of garlic. The beef filet was cooked perfectly and accompanied by classic Béarnaise and superb frites, but the star of the meal was a pork filet mignon laced with truffles and served over sautéed mushrooms. The wine list is short but well chosen and priced. Our hostess made us feel very comfortable and the chef even came out to accept our applause for his incredible skills. Don’t miss this one if you’re in Rennes.
